To give a little bit of background My name is Juan Alberto I am a 4th degree black belt and the Chief Instructor  at Aikido Center of Miami (no relationship what so ever) to Aikido Center of Jacksonville. We do not belong to the same Aikido federation. I am very familiar with Aikido Center of Jacksonville and Dee Seabolt I find it very strange to hear that the dojo/school is unprofessional or child-like in there approach to students. I know that Aikido Center of Jacksonville is very highly respected in the Aikido community. We regularly train at seminars and Dee has even attended seminars at my dojo. To put it in a nutshell if I had a student moving to the Jacksonville area and had to refer them to an Aikido Dojo I would not hesitate to recommend Aikido Center of Jacksonville.

I wold of given it only half a star if there was that option. This school is unprofessional and the teachers act like children. They throw first rate tantrums  if they are contradicted or upset. They have no loyalty to there students. It is no surprise they have a student retention problem. I urge people to shop around or choice and make an informed choice if possible.

I’m a student at the Aikido Center of Jacksonville and I’ll tell you right now “I love this place!” I began training at the Aikido Center of Jacksonville (ACJ) shortly after my 30th birthday in 2009 and have been a member of the school ever since. Not only are the instructors great but the students are great too. I can easily say that the relationships and experiences I have built over the years with the school have been some of the most positive in my life. You can tell from the minute you set foot in the door that this is a NOT a martial arts franchise setup to take your money and hand out black belts for a quick profit. This dojo is more like a family and everyone is welcome. Each instructor is different and has a unique approach so you never get bored. Also, all the instructors are well qualified and are truly passionate about Aikido. Whether it’s staying late after class to help a student or just hanging out, the instructors and students are always easy to approach and really want everyone to have a good experience. Like I said, this dojo is like an Aikido family. What I didn’t know when I started training is that ACJ is also a member of the United States Aikido Federation (USAF), which is not only the largest governing body of Aikido in the U.S. but is recognized by the Aikido world headquarters in Japan (Aikikai Hombu Dojo). That means that training with ACJ not only links you with all the major Aikido dojos all over the country, but all over the world too. Through the seminar network you have the opportunity to meet so many new and interesting people and if you wanted to drop in for a class at a USAF dojo in Atlanta, Miami, Long Island or even Tokyo you could. The fantastic training I’ve received at ACJ has allowed me to do just that. Talk about an extended family! So that’s a review from a student who really knows the school. The only way you can find out if Aikido Center of Jacksonville is a good fit for you is to come in, take a few classes, and give it a try. That’s something I’d encourage anyone to do. I’m there frequently, so if you want to talk to me, just ask for me. My name is Kevin.

I've been training at Aikido Center of Jacksonville for two months. I selected this school because they offer classes six days a week. The instructors have been training for ~20 years. One thing I didn't know about Aikido when I walked through the door is, you're always training with a partner. For me, this means that probably 75% of my training is hands-on with a student/instructor who has been training for 4-20+ years. The fees are modest. Everyone is friendly - it is a family atmosphere. I'll be attending this school for as long as I live in Jacksonville.

I'm excited to be part of a excellent experience of the martial art. The instructor are compassionate and safety oriented. I have found a home from home. I would recommended anyone who like to be physically fit and have the time to invest in yourself it will be worth it.
