I have been to this store several times with no issues, but today was different. I was quoted $120 on the phone to ship a drum kit. I know it's just a quote and they are subject to change but when I show up to the store the price was $250! Instead of explaining the situation the employee said 'I can call the owner if you want, but it won't make a difference'. I feel that someone working in a ups store should be able to at least be in the ballpark with quotes. Not to mention as soon as there was a sign of my unhappiness, the employee became a little rude, making the issue worse.

I have been a customer for several years (double digit number of years:) I moved to Elkridge and have another store closer, however everyone was always so helpful I didn't mind spending the time to travel to the store. It all changed today! Customer service and courtesy have completely vanished. For no reason at all, except for the fact that I was with a small toddler who was crying, I was treated very poorly. I am very dissapointed!

I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the UPS Store the Saturday before Christmas and didn't see a long line of customers. Instead I was greeted by 4 store clerks ready to help me. A small line formed behind me but I was out of the store within 5 minutes. The customers were treated promptly and courteously. What a nice experience at this busy time of the year.

I have used this location for drop off shipping and they always greet me as I walk up to the desk and ask if there is anything else that I need. Friendly people.

Horrible service. I wanted to return my textbooks from the semester and they wanted to CHARGE me one dollar for taping the box. I can literally buy ONE ROLL OF TAPE with a dollar. Please take your business to the UPS Store in Millersville. I am usually their customer and they have never charged me for taping my package. The store in Glen Burnie is convenient, but not worth the service.

Horrific customer service. Manager was rude to the employees, temperamental with the customers, had another person pack my item, complained at their craftsmanship, and then blatantly lied to me about service delivery times. She stated that 3-day Select was the least costly option available when UPS Ground is always an option. When I asked about Ground her response was "The USPS won't go any faster". I took my packed goods and left, after she tossed the receipt in my direction and went back to texting on her phone. If you want service - go elsewhere.

I went into this store to mail a gift. I gave the address to be shipped to on a piece of paper. One employee started helping me and answered the phone instead of finishing the transaction. Another employee finished the transaction and flipped 2 numbers in the zip code and sent it to the wrong address. When I returned to the store asking for it to be mailed to the right zip code I was told it was my fault and was refused a refund. I mailed it from the US Postal service and paid half the cost....this store over charges and would rather have 16 dollars in their pocket than own up to their mistakes and provide customer service.....

I came into the store the other morning because i needed to ship a few items, and I felt like the post office was going to be to rough on my packages. The employees that were in the store were very kind and helpful and they guided me on how to ship my stuff securley and even packaged it for me. Throught the whole experience they talked to me and made sure that i was taken care of. When everything was said and done my package arrived on time and unharmed, and I was very satisfied with the young man and woman that helped me. I will defenitly be returning.

The guys who work here are really great. The nearby post office is staffed with very angry people. I don't mind paying the extra postage markup at UPS if it means I'm treated with respect and kindness. I recommend this UPS location to anyone in the AdMo and Dupont areas!

I adore this store the staff is friendly and are willing to go above and beyond what I have seen as many other locations. I have used them for packing shipping ups and USPS and also for copies. I also used their fax machine when mine was on the fritz. I wish I could recommend this store wi more than 5 stars.

I was in town on business travel for the afternoon and needed to print some confidential contracts. So when I arrived at the store and explained my situation they completely understood. The issue I had was with my PDF form, I was not able to save the data to send it nor did I have my flash drive. So they allowed me to use their computer to fill out the contracts for print. Also in a timely and inexpensive cost they were able to fix some of the fields on my PDF form so in the future it will be easier for me to fill out on my own computer for print. I would have to say that with all my traveling and random stops to stores that print forms I would have to say that I received the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I’ve had in a very long time. A++++++ I will plan to see you again if I need more prints in the near future. Thank you Gentlemen

Wish I could give less than one star. Attendant is not nice. They charge 50 cents for a small piece of tape. Then tell you they have a min. Charge for your card and make you buy more. I've been here twice, was not happy with the nickel and diming and will never use this location again.

theupsstorelocal.com

@

Staff is super rude. I went to drop off my comcast equipment with a pre paid label and the box needed a piece of tape to seal it up. They wouldn't throw a piece of tape on for me, said I could buy an overpriced roll or pay extra for package prep. I only patronize businesses that treat their customers right and will never be back to this place.

theupsstorelocal.com

@

Wow. Just wow. I brought in a package to be shipped with a label printed and ready to go. The gentleman working wanted to charge me 75 cents for 12 inches of tape to seal my box. Okay, but the last person charged me 50 cents. So already I can tell this is a random price and the store is trying to nickel and dime me. He then says he can do 50 cents. But I have to pay cash. The previous lady charged me 50 cents and allowed me to use a card without a problem. He kept insisting how there's a $2 credit card minimum. He let me walk out without waiving the "50 cent fee" since I didn't have cash. Didnt get my package shipped. A well-run store doesn't let a customer walk over 50 cents and trivial unwritten credit card minimums. Are you serious? What a joke.

I've only had good experiences with UPS, but the UPS Store is a scam. I needed to put a patch of tape on a box so I asked if they had any tape I could use and they pointed me to a tape gun. They did not mention nor was it posted ANYWHERE that using said tape gun meant BUYING said tape gun, so I was pretty surprised when they told me I owed them $10 for a tape gun I never intended to buy.

This facility has the highest charges of any UPS store I have ever visited. It charges a $1 to attach your label, $17 for a box, $15 for peanuts, and $8 service fee. This is a business that is tarnishing the UPS brand.

Today was my last straw with this store - if the guy doesn't "like" your box he will refuse to accept it until you have purchased a "better" one from him (or taken it home, removed the label, packed a different box, reattached the label, returned to the store) - I have had to do both of these things in the past. I have sold and shipped things on eBay for many years, from bicycles to computer parts, I know how to pack a box. Today I went there with three shoe boxes of Amazon returns, one of which I had unfolded, turned inside-out and put back together to hide the bright labels and colors. Each in perfect condition, packing-taped securely, and with UPS labels covering the tops. The man (I have only ever seen the one guy there) said he would only accept the inside-out box as it was the only true "shipping box", the rest were only shoe boxes (seems like if you can stack them 25 high on the shoe truck and in the back of the shoe store they should survive a couple days in the UPS system). The boxes were identical cardboard thickness and quality. Ridiculous. I took my packages, sat in my car, found and drove a mile further to the Edina USP Store where the man cheerfully accepted my boxes and offered me a coupon for my next visit. I will never be going back to the Southtown USP store again.

I had my passport shipped via the 2-day shipment of UPS. The website of UPS claims this to be secure and reliable. Unfortunately, my passport got lost (well, still under investigation). If I didn't bother to track it, I would not have been able to know this happened. I sent another mail on the same day via the usual USPS delivery (w/o tracking), and they were able to deliver that mail. I would NEVER trust UPS with important documents anymore. Not even their supposed secure shipment.

I called this location to ask about custom made name badges and license plate holders and the lady that answered the phone claimed that she was a manager. I wish I could speak with the owner of this location since its a franchise location and let him know that his employee who may or may not be a manager was very rude. I hate it when I am talking and I am interrupted by the sales person who is supposed to be helping , she cared more about helping the customers in the store than helping me. Even though some people can not multi task they should be able to assist someone in person and over the phone. I even made a suggestion to her to inform her boss about putting a display of the custom name badges. Her response to that was nobody ask questions about name badges , I explained to her that people will ask questions about this if there were a display. The location in Marietta ga has a display of their custom made badges and license plate holders , I hope the owner of this location see this review and fix this problem.

Hours are too short for a store in Manhattan. I had to wait about an hour to print around ten pages. Printing is way too overpriced (a dollar a page, and five to use the computer). Printing at all was nightmare, and when I asked for assistance with an error, the young guy working there said he'd be right back, went back to laughing and talking with his co-worker and managed to completely forget about me even though I'd asked him for help all of two minutes prior. When he finally did remember (after being reminded fifteen minutes later) he asked me not to get upset. He's right, of course. Expecting incompetent people to know how to do their jobs is pretty dumb.

Unprofessional - and damaging to UPS reputation. I had made an online appointment for notary services and arrived this afternoon a couple of minutes ahead of the scheduled time with my confirmation number. When I told the very pleasant gentleman at the service desk that I was there for my appointment he told me that the owner is the notary and he would go back and get him. He returned to say the owner had to leave and had said I should "come back tomorrow". I said that I had an appointment and that the documents I needed notarized were time sensitive and needed to me mailed by end-of business today. I then asked if the owner had indeed left and he said no. He went back again and then the owner stepped into the passage next to him - looked at me directly but did not talk to me - and walked away. The by-now embarrassed and apologetic sales person came back and repeated the suggestion that I come back tomorrow or try elsewhere. I said that I would try elsewhere and that I would never set foot in this store again. My only regret is that the salesperson had to be the messenger for such a deeply unprofessional business owner.

*** Bullshit artists, avoid like the plague *** Dropped off a USPS prepaid package at the counter on 04/05 that needed to be taped up. Clerk was taping it up and applying label when I left the store. Check USPS website for tracking this morning and no information showing. Called the UPS Store location and they state it is not there and they have no responsibility for the package as it is USPS, but they take USPS packages for the USPS to pick up. Called USPS and they have no further information on the package as it has not been scanned. Store is no help. If the tracking does not show up in the next 24 hours I am opening an investigation with USPS and also filing a formal complaint with UPS Store corporate. Either USPS is stupid and did not scan the package or an employee stole it. Either way I will get to the bottom of it. I am giving 1 star so I can post this but in reality it should be -100 stars.

Service was good. IF YOU HAVE A PACKAGE THAN COULD BE MAILED BY USPS: UPS IS OVERPRICED>> Just mailed (Thursday 9:30am) an 11x13 envelope (.9)lbs. Cost me $15 to arrive by Monday. Got home and checked the rates: USPS quotes $5.50 for priority mail, for Saturday arrival. Wasted $10. There are 2 post offices within 5minutes drive, don't waste your money like I did!

This is the worst store on the planet. The woman who was working there on Saturday June 6th was rude, incompetent and just downright mean. Stay away. Stay very far away. Comcast has a deal that if you drop off your equipment there, UPS sends it back to them. I just hope and pray they get it.

AVOID THIS STORE IF YOU VALUE WHAT YOU'RE SHIPPING, YOUR TIME, AND MOST OF ALL, YOUR MONEY! I had to package/ship a large item to California and did not expect it to be cheap, however, when I was quoted $370, just to PACKAGE it, I immediately called the owners bluff. As soon as he realized I wasn't buying it, the price was magically cut in half and for that I was told the item would be bubbled wrapped, the box lined with styrofoam, and packed in peanuts. Then, he told me if would cost $450 to ship! As I said, this was a large package that weighed about 80lbs, but having shipped all kinds of items in the past, this again smelled fishy. When I told him the customer was actually the one paying for the shipping with his UPS account, he quickly changed his tune and said, oh, ok. Later that night, I entered the specs of the package into UPS online and came up with a shipping price just under $200 - OVER HALF OF WHAT HE QUOTED ME! (the customer said he was only charged about $110 since he has a UPS account). After harping on how important it was to protect the corners of what I was shipping with bubble wrap, which I knee/agreed, I paid about $180 to have them package the item, which he said he would personally do himself and mail out on Thursday (this was on a Tuesday). As I filled out the packaging label I realize there were a lot of boxes he told me not to worry about, however, after reading the instructions, it was very apparent these needed to filled out, which I did despite his instructions. Long story short, by Thursday night the item was still not showing as shipped. I called Friday and was told he did not get a chance to finish packing it and it would go out that day (Friday - a day late). The item did eventually reach its destination and I asked the customer to provide me feedback on how the item was packaged since I made the mistake of not insisting on seeing the item packaged myself. He said overall it was "ok" however, "it would have been better if they wrapped it in bubble wrap instead of just a 1/2" of styrofoam and packing peanuts." As you can imagine, I was shocked to hear this after I was lectured that the bubble wrap was absolutely necessary. Just out of curiosity, I went to another UPS store, with my receipt, and described to them what I shipped, the weight, dimensions, etc, and asked if they would tell me exactly what I paid for at the other store. According to the clerk, I was charged for both "standard" and "custom" packaging, which this was obviously just a custom job, added another $30 to the cost. This place with NEVER get my business ever again and I am amazed they are STILL even in business! Take you package and business elsewhere - hell, even the post office, unless you want to be ripped off.

WOW!! I can't believe this. I am told by a guy name ERIC that a package would never get sent back. Well it did. And it had my name and address on it. And they wrote" know one by this name has a box # at this address" Than when I call to ask why it would be sent back I get told by ERIC " I only make 8.50 an hour it is not my job to worry about your mail". Than someone please tell me why he works there if he doesn't want to do the job. I am very unhappy with this company. Than I am told the manager John is no longer there and he doesn't know who the manager is. He again only makes 8.50 an hour not his job.

I had an absolutely awful experience. My printer was out of ink to prepay and print a label, so I went to the UPS store on Onondaga to ship my package. The clerk was polite enough and the transaction was easy. 2 weeks later my package still hasn't arrived at it's destination. I call the store asking for the tracking number, because it wasn't on my receipt. The clerk shipped it via standard mail, meaning he just handed it over to the post office. Why would I go to the UPS store to ship something via the post office? Now my package is lost with no way to file a claim since it wasn't UPS, and I have to refund the money to my customer ($200), I'm out $200 plus $5 shipping. I will never EVER be using UPS again for my business without printing my own label, since apparently they are incompetent.

Awful. Never using this location again. Employee could not even work the bar scanner Brought package in with shipping label and everything was visible. He apparently did not go through bar scanner training class and could not get the scanner to read the bar code on the shipping label. I asked him if he could read the address, the tracking number, and everything else and he goes yeah but I cannot get it to scan. I asked if I could forward him the label in the email to print and he said no that I would have to go home and reprint the label. Brought $50 worth of business for the day to the post office.

My partner and I needed to ship an underwater housing to the manufacturer for repairs. This franchise, without giving us any options for less expensive means of shipping such as not double boxing (this is NOT required by UPS) upsold him to a larger box and charged him $125 (approx). When the manufacturer found out how much we were charged for shipping they were shocked. To ship the product back to us cost us $22 (to be fair, the corporate UPS rate-but we were charged about SIX TIMES the corporate rate). A subsequent estimate from another UPS franchise was $74, including packing materials and insurance. When I pointed out that we had been, I felt, overcharged by at least a factor of two, the owner offered me $35 in free copying there. I will not be back; I suggest that no one use this franchise as there are much less expensive alternative locally that are also more reasonably managed. Note: this review was also posted on YELP.

I had asked The UPS Store on N. Northsight Blvd to do something very challenging. I needed a 50x50 sentimental piece of artwork packaged and shipped to New York. Shipping across the country is never an easy feat, however; Sara and her staff at Store 1669 made this process absolutely seamless. The artwork was picked up and carefully packaged. I was in constant communication the entire time, leaving me confident it would be delivered fully intact. I highly recommend this UPS location for any shipping needs.

Incredible service here, as always. We use the UPS Store for all of our printing solutions (business cards, posters, flyers, handouts, etc...) you name it, and Sara can do it! Sara is the head girl over there who takes care of all of your printing needs. We recently gave her a fairly large job on very little notice and she completed it easily with no complaints. Great service! Oh and by the way- they have the BEST prices around for business cards!

The UPS website says clearly open today 9-5pm. Drove all the way out there to drop off a package to be mailed, got there at about 3:55pm to find a paper sign taped to the front door: Open today 9-3. That is not acceptable to me. If you have to leave early, make it very clear on your website and anywhere else you are displaying your information that this is the case.

No problems until we had something damaged in shipping. Was not the fault of the packing but of the handling during shipping was decided... but took 3 months to get refund and full resolution. While it can get backed up here quickly, overall I've had great service. They even helped me track down proof of a return I sent back months prior when the online retailer was claiming they never got it. The staff here are overall great. I've even seen their young staff (late teens/early 20s) handle obnoxious and unreasonable people in a very professional way.

If you're returning your CenturyLink equipment here, BE SMART! Guy working the counter was helping another customer and recognized my package. He asked if I needed a receipt for it and because I was in a hurry to get out of there, I said no I don't and he okay you're good to go. Now I'm being charged $150 by CenturyLink for an unreturned cable box even though they got the other items in the both and I can't dispute the charge because I don't have a receipt or tracking number.

I took three UPS Ground pre-paid boxes into this store at 11:10AM EST on July19, 2010 and I was told that they would not accept the boxes because they were valued at over $100. I was told to go to Staples to ship them. I have been to UPS Stores all over the country and this is the first time a store has told me they would not accept a UPS Ground package. What is the world coming to when you cannot ship a UPS package from a UPS Store? Apparently, this store is doing so well that they can refuse business. I was going to purchase a 6 month mailbox at this location but decided if they don't want some of my business then they won't get any of my business. Franchise owners of this location, if you don't like shipping UPS pre-paid boxes for customers then you picked the wrong franchise to open. I am reporting this to UPS Corporate.

DO NOT SHIP WITH THIS STORE OR UPS. If they damage items in the shipment or steal something, as what happened to me, this franchise location and UPS will deny the claim and there are no repercussions. Shipped Christmas gifts from this locations to Philly. One of the packages had a food processor and weighed 33lbs total. When we opened it up the package weighed 5lbs and the food processor was gone but the package had been taped shut. So we file a claim, take pictures, repeatedly follow up only to be denied not only buy UPS but this terrible franchise location as well. Each time we talked to someone they placed the blame with one another. Talked to a worker who used a technicality that they "don't work for UPS" yet UPS contacted them to see if they would cover the missing item, and the franchise said no but lied to us on the phone. Terrible service. Ship USPS or FedEx. We are now out over 260 dollars in total for item and shipping. Either someone at this franchise stole the item or someone at UPS. Either way no one is accepting responsibility. They are blaming it on "bad" packaging... then where the hell did the food processor go...? Check online tons of stories like this. Due your due diligence and save yourself the hassle of dealing with them. Have a great day.

We've used this UPS Store for years for our shipping needs and they are consistently fast, friendly and efficient. Once we opened a local business, though, the real value of this resource became crystal clear. Besides their usual excellent shipping and packaging services, we've had brochures printed and folded and a banner printed. The brochure printing saved us time and effort. The banner is just awesome! Printed on plastic and fitted with grommets at all corners, it is sturdy and looks great. We are certainly going to use more of their services.

I had to re-ship these documents next day FedEx to make the deadline for the closing. FedEx may cost more, but its worth the extra to not deal with an independently owned store that blames UPS for not shipping on time and UPS blames the store for not recieving the package. FedEx also has better and more frequently tracking information and is corporately owned. I have little hope for ever getting may $18 refund.

Sandeep Shah and Eric made my day. I was offered assistance the second I stepped foot in the store, and they were both attentive, intelligent, kind, resourceful and amiable. When a new driver delivered two boxes to the wrong address, we were shocked and disappointed. It made no sense that the boxes meant for Los Angeles would come back to me in Atwood. Tracking the boxes was difficult when I called UPS 800 number, but once I got a hold of the team in Champaign, the problem was solved immediately and with professionalism. Cody and Melissa were unbelievably helpful and apologetic. These things happen--this is a complex endeavor and sometimes people mess up. I appreciate when mistakes are acknowledged without blaming others and the problem solved quickly. BTW: all the other nine boxes made it safely and on time to their proper destination.

Through my 18month of observation, I find that a driver from this store never delivers. He is around 5'6'', little bit chubby, between 30 to 40 years old. Unlike a guy from a review, he never delivers without ring the door bell. I missed all his delivery even if I am home. He did not bring the package and directly stick the label. In this way, he can not complain that UPS did not deliver on time, very smart but lazy. Also, I asked him once why he did that, his argument is that he did not have the key to access our building (but we do have door bell directly to my cell). He even asked my keys. So what does UPS want to do? access my apartment and steal something from me? Anyway, he kept on doing like this for 18 months now. Luckily, I am going to move.

I have been going into this store for about 6 months, at least once, sometimes twice a week. Everyone has always been very nice, but I began to dread seeing (what appears to be) the owner there. Every single time I go in, he asks me "have you been here before". I say yes and he continues to say "so you know we do shredding, packaging, blah, blah, blah". EVERY SINGLE TIME. This has happened maybe 40 times. I understand wanting to grow your business, but maybe take a second to appreciate the customers you have enough to try to recognize their face. And if I say yes, I come here every week, maybe you can save me the sales pitch? Just a thought. So, I've recently been driving a little further away to avoid this. Well, today, I was rushing to finish a project for work so that I could get it checked into UPS before 5:00. Stressing out, I finished and drove to this location, as it is the closest. I had 5 minutes to spare. Whew. Except, no, the doors were locked. It seems innocent enough to close a few minutes early, but you never know how that affects that one person who is busting their butt to get there.

Please be aware that this store is hosting a company called Web Listings Inc. Web Listings Inc is a known scam that uses deceptive marketing practices to sucker people into paying for services. (google it to read more). They send a bill for services referencing a domain name you may own; if you're an honest business person you'll want to pay the bill thinking it was from a legitimate annual subscription for your domain. When you realize it's not it's too late. There is no way to contact the person (i.e. Web Listings) for a refund. There is no way to contact this company except via this PO box hosted by UPS. In other words UPS is the front for this Phishing scam. Web Listings Inc. 1623 Military Rd. #926 Niagara Falls, Ny 14304-1745

The service at this store has always been awesome. I've been using this store for four years now without any problems. The review about the phishing scam company has nothing to do with the store itself or the service they provide. Any company providing PO Boxes cannot always verify if the person renting the box is legitimate.

The employees at this UPS store are very helpful and polite. I bought a UPS mailbox for my small business, which took a good chunk of time because of the process, but during that time the employee and I chatted about Harry Potter and Hunger Games--he made a potentially dull experience entertaining. Since then, I've called every few days to ask if I have any mail because I'm expecting something and it's a long drive for one piece of mail. I'm going to give this UPS Store three stars because it really was just "okay". My friend was looking to get a jpg. file of her's printed on 11x17 color card stock. Since I have worked at UPS before, I knew what type of card stocks most UPS Store should carry. I understand fully that some UPS store's don't have printing services, but this one did, and when they do provide printing services, they should have some sort of card stock. When my friend and I walked, the girl looked mildly distressed and not very welcoming. (She may of been having a bad day, who knows). It wasn't the fact that they didn't have card stock, it was the fact that she told me they did, when they didn't. We waited about ten minutes and she handed us a standard paper 11x17 copy, that didn't even print out right. When I asked her, if she had card stock, like she told me, she said "Oh, no we don't", and walked quickly to help the next customer. Although, she wasn't rude, it was a waste of my time and she clearly didn't know what she was talking about. Okay experience. I might come back.

Paid 12.50 for two day shipping but it's been four. I typically use only standard shipping but this was for glasses I need to see after breaking my only pair. I know it's not huge deal that it's been only four days but I'm paying for a promise that it'll be here in two days so I'm very disappointed.

takes way to long for them to update their deliveries. so if you get tracking confirmation that your package has been delivered, you aint goint to get the package lest they sift through a pile for atleast 24 hrs. many times ive gone over to get 10 parcels and had to go back. for a canadian, this aint good and canadians comprise 80 perc of their business. dont ship there. too expensive and you will wait lest you just leave your cc number with the owner (ok?). staff is very personable however but they are understaffed. location is good. if i could find similar location next to border crossing id bring my business elsewhere.

The staff is outstanding - they regularly offer to help me carry packages to my car, they're friendly and helpful, etc. No complaints about UPS itself, this is by far the best branch I've dealt with. The only detractor is the parking lot. 2 high-end restaurants have leases in the same strip center. The restaurants have valet parking that takes up most of the spots. On top of that, the valets drive recklessly as do the restaurant clientele. They park in spaces that are reserved for the store and have parked me in on several occasions even though this is clearly a busy parking lot.

Not my first choice, use to be good when nice people worked there. There is an employee, every time I go in so unfriendly and says something she cannot do, never how can I help you, I even heard her yell at someone on the phone. One time I went in there. And the girl said you need a little bit more peanuts put in your box do you want some. I said yes and then was charged $1 for the peanuts and she never told me. She was going to charge me. Then another time a cell phone that I sent was stolen by one of the employees and they told me I would get a refund in 10 days. I called them and that never happened and then spoke to a woman on the phone I believe the owner and she told me it would take about 30 or 40 days. The man who told me it was 10 days argues with me and wouldn't of just apologize for telling me 10 days. I was a regular customer. I at least shipped 2 to 3 times a month and a simple apology would have made all this go away but I went to the Glen Burnie ups and have been happy ever since.

I asked for a box that would fit my laptop, and the manipulative manager (Jim) said that he would pack the box for me. He said this in a very nice way, to the point where he seemed he was doing me a favor. The favor costed me $18.35, just for the box (not including shipping)! I then asked him how much the box was, and how much the service of packing it was, and he said the box costed $18.35. Upon contacting the Carbondale store, the box only costs $5.18. I don't get the bad reviews -- this store is the best! The staff and owner are absolutely incredible, with the best customer service I've seen. Sure the store is busy - but have you tried your local Post Office? Plus - they are open on Saturdays (all day). I've been doing business with this store for almost five years (from shipping to packaging to mail handling) and have always had predictable good service. Unfortunately the internet tends to "attract" just the bad reviews. Well here is a good, honest review and this UPS Store (on Hawthorne) is five stars in my book.

Service is always slow. I had a prepaid shipping label just needed my item packaged. They were alright. I had to pay a dollar for them to put a piece of tape on my package. I don't know that they even did because she just set my package down after ringing me up. Shipping high value item. Took almost an hour and then they wanted to take care of everyone else in line before making sure my package was secure: I'm supposed to just leave, trusting them to pack it? One of the two employees is new and completely untrained, she doesn't know how to do the most basic function. Long line of customers, basically running on one functioning cylinder.

The first time the notary was not in, the second time I called to ensure that the notary would be in - they said he would be in until 4:30 but had left before I arrived at 3:00, and the third time I waited for a half hour while the notary sat on the phone in the back room.

I was warned by a friend about this employee and made the mistake of going anyway. I contacted UPS corporate and they told me it is a franchise and there is nothing they can do. I went there today to drop off a return package. The employee was helping a customer. I asked him for a tape to seal the box. He said to wait. Even after the payment and everything was done the customer was still asking endless questions. She was concerned about her mail to be delivered by next day. The employee was politely answering. By the time it's been almost 5 minutes. I asked again, and he gave me a look and said wait. Then they started talking in asian language. After 10 minutes since I walked into the store I lost my patience and told him look I'm just here to drop the package it's going to take 1 minute. Can you take care of me? In a reply he said can't you see I'm helping a customer? I told him I've been waiting here for 10 minutes, and her transaction and everything was done almost 8 minutes ago, if you still want to answer her endless questions or whatever you two are talking about, tell me what should I do? He said and I quote "don't come here, drop your return somewhere else." He sure didn't want a customer who's not paying. I understand and respect the people's work in retail stores. They go through a lot. But tell a customer go to another store because he politely waited and asked 3 times? That's one star service right there. Best of luck with your business.

This ups store manager is rude. And they are not good at following through with procedure. I had to call back twice about an order that was supposed to go out, before finally saying I did not provide an email address for conformation, which I did the day I dropped the package off. If you can not get a conformation that day when you drop off an item I would not leave it with them.

UPS delivered my package to the wrong location. That happens. I was able to get in contact with the person who returned it. The package was returned to the nearest UPS store off 2513 McCain Blvd. I went in expecting to get my package with relatively no hassle. I walk in and was not acknowledged for about 2 mins even though there were 2 employees who could clearly see that I needed help. Once I was noticed I began to explain my situation. They had no idea about any package that had been returned. The lady helping me basically didn't seem to care about my situation. I got a rude vibe and left. I looked up my tracking online and brought a print out back to them. This time a different employee helped me and was also quite rude. She also had no idea what I was talking about and gave me a 800 number to call. So, I called and UPS customer service was very helpful. They ended up getting in contact with the UPS store I was dealing with and getting down to the bottom of it. But only after the customer service rep, that was a great help, called them back twice. The rep also said that the employees running the store weren't much help to her either. Finally, I was told me package would be waiting for me. When I went back, an employee who I had not been dealing with was kind enough to offer an apology. I accepted and said that it wasn't a problem. The employee, a dark haired lady, who handed me my package and who I had originally dealt with only stared me down and said absolutely nothing to me. I couldn't believe the lack of customer service and shear rudeness of my visit to this UPS location. The only reason I didn't give them 1 star is because of the apology and even after going round and round with them, I was able to obtain my package.

This location is Amazing! I am a regular customer of this location. I have used just about every service that they offer (Our mail, goes there, printing, notary, and etc.). The manager Chelsea is ALWAYS kind and accommodating as is her staff. The store is always busy but entering a location and being greeted by name and with a smile is a benefit. I go into the store knowing that my shipping is potentially going to be expensive (I am a procrastinator when mailing things) I always keep in mind that they are NOT USPS and I usually am pleased to find out it's a little cheaper than I expected. I never leave the store disappointed even if something doesn't go as planned the staff tries to do the best of their ability to correct it and for that I am grateful. Customer service is excellent and in today's society it's truly a pleasure to receive such great service consistently. Thank you all. I will continue to be a satisfied customer.

I have done business with this location for over 6 years and after occasionally using different locations due to geographical reasons or a customer-specific issue, I can say that I am grateful THIS location is the one my business uses most frequently day-to-day. The service is always fast and professional and in the event some issue or question must be "kicked up the chain" (I ship internationally and often have oversized or valuable shipments) the owner is always acessible and helpful. Most importantly, the packing is ALWAYS above standard...I often am complimented by my customers how well-packed their order is. I ship hundreds of items annually that require UPS or professional packing and the VERY FEW times I have ever had a concern the manager has easily resolved it or the owner contacted me directly....personal service like this is a RARITY these days.

I wanted to ship a very expensive computer to a friend but they wanted me to leave my credit card info and just leave it there. I thought that was extremely fishy so I said, no, I'm going to wait here until its finalized. Quoted $159+36 for packing, waited 2 hours, actual charges were $312 and $60+ for packing. I told them I'd have to call my friend because he only gave me $250. I couldn't reach him so they said I could leave my info and wrap up the transaction tomorrow. I said okay and asked my friend who was with me to bring the PC back to the car, since I have injuries from my 6 years in military service and can't lift it myself. Well, it was so bulky that he needed help carrying it. So as we're putting it in the car, both the blonde woman with star tattoos and the guy at the counter came out to the parking lot. The guy at the counter was the one who said we could come back tomorrow. The lady said we had to pay for packaging and I said, I have to get more money from my friend but I could pay the price we were quoted. Then she told the guy to grab the package which was already in my car. They literally tried to wrestle it out of my hands. They hurt my right should, arm, and wrist, and that whole side of my body already has nerve, muscle, and scar tissue problems. They scraped skin off my arm and then announced to the whole store that I was trying to steal my own computer and told her other employee to call the police. It was extremely embarrassing and I was just flabbergasted by the whole situation! She told my friend to wait outside because she felt "threatened" even though she was the one that initiated the assault on my property. All over a box and packing popcorn? Seriously? All she had to do was talk to me about it but she jumped to the improper conclusion. I called UPS headquarters and am awaiting their reply. The officer I spoke with said she figured the whole incident was more paperwork than something like this is really worth and that the lady had no right to press charges against us at all.

Worst customer service in the world! I hate going out of my way to write reviews, which should give you some indication of HOW bad my experience was with this store. When UPS lost my package, I called the store for a refund and was told to wait 6-8 weeks while the store filed a claim with the head office. When I called back 6-8 weeks later, I was told in an absolutely unapologetic tone that nothing was filed and that the manager was going to start the claim now. He didn't even bother taking down my contact info, so I'm still not sure if he's going to do anything. Sadly, I can't even call the head office because they tell me to take it up with the store.

DON'T use this store. I was called told to "F___ Myself" and have a nice life "a__hole" by the owner of the store - Michael then he hung up on me. Really - this is how you treat a customer where a package that was shipped from your store is destroyed! I had two boxes professionally wrapped! Michael (the owner) wanted me to make sure that I stated that the paintings were not wrapped by his store personnel! Ok! They were PROFESSIONALLY wrapped at another store. They were accepted by his store and I was told "they were good to go." One package arrived in perfect condition. The other package - DESTROYED. It was re-wrapped poorly without any of the packaging that had been carefully done BY THE OTHER STORE. It's "no ones fault" I was told. UPS denied any responsibility even though someone told a store employee at the McLean VA store (Brian) that a "package fell on the box and destroyed the contents." I asked the McLean Store to refund the money that I spent to ship the package. I thought that was a reasonable request given what happened. I was told by the owner (Michael) that I "was screwing the little guy- meaning HIM." What about my painting - what? In my opinion, I wouldn't trust this place to mail me a package of little or no value. I certainly wouldn't trust this group to mail something you care about a/k/a a family painting that can't be replaced. Thanks Michael - you acted like a jerk on the phone. Hope you continue to serve, "Congressman, Senators, Kings and Queens" - Michael actually told me these were his clients! You certainly DO NOT KNOW how to be courteous to regular customers who have lost something of value to their family!

I'm writing this review after seeing a lot of negative reviews of other UPS Stores in the area. What people don't seem to know is that they're independant franchises with different owners. If you don't like one, you can't judge them all on that experience. They have the UPS name but it's not a corporate-owned store, it's a local business. I don't want to see one truly outstanding local small business owner suffer due to the mismanagement and poor customer service skills of other franchisees. The store in Four Hills is exceptional. You're always greeted when you walk in the door, and regular customers are greeted by name! The staff is always courtesous and professional and is willing to go the extra mile to make you happy. They'll help you with the copy machine, help you track packages you've sent, help you with everything they do. In addition to packaging and shipping, they also have copy machines, binding and laminating, fax services, computer rental, notary services, secure paper shredding, mailboxes, and a lot of other personal and small business solutions. I'd like to see all of Jan's loyal customers write good reviews so everyone knows that not all UPS Stores are like the ones other people have problems with. SUPPORT LOCAL-OWNED SMALL BUSINESS!!!

Will not go back to this ups store again! Went to drop off package to ship out today, simply asked to put a little tape on a tear in the corner and a little tape across the label to secure. The woman was very rude and aggressive about it. Really, it was a small amount of tape... I was very nice when making my request. Did not deserve that kind of treatment!

One star in relation to their printing services, wish I could give 0 stars: Needed to print a one page document. Called the store to ask how to do this -- Jim said the only option was to use their laptop there which costs $3 to use, and I would need to bring the doc on a USB drive. I asked if there was online printing -- Jim said no, which was astonishing in the year of 2015 so I checked online. Lo and behold, online printing was available. Submitted the order and called to confirm when I should expect to pick it up. Jim asked if I was the same person who called a few minutes ago -- I said yes and he promptly told me that online printing is not available. I told him I just submitted the order and the option was available -- he told me to wait while he asked someone else. Jim came back and told me it would take 6 hours to turn around the one page letter. I took my business to another UPS store on Main street (Watertown SQ) which said that the one page letter would be available in a matter of minutes. To top it off, their prints are half the cost of the UPS store above on Common Street. The UPS Store at 464 Common St, is not worth your hassle if you need to print something quickly and cost effectively.

I went here to print a return shipping label and mail a small package. Unfortunately, I was told that printing the label would cost me at least three dollars. Upon expressing my surprise (staples costs around 35 cents), the staff responded, "If you don't like it, you can go home and print it." Smug staff. Unfair prices. I'll take my business elsewhere.

I needed several scripts and related documents printed for a meeting today-19 Word documents total. They were the only things on a thumb drive, and having used a Windows machine to copy those and a Mac to verify the contents, I knew the docs were alphabetized. The first printed at the store were "A", the next "T", followed by "L1", another copy of "A" at which time I said I was "getting redundancies", which was was met with a grunt AFTER repeating myself. "U" was next, "L4", "L2", "E", another "L1" at which time my question about "stopping to take an inventory" was met with a SNIDE "I am going down YOUR list, SIR". Separating the redundant copies, I continued observing the individual in the reflective window behind the copier (as I had been doing since I stepped behind the counter to verify the copier output), and noticed she had stopped resting her head on her hand for 10+ seconds between copies [being able to see the pop-up screens on her computer] before printing the document on her screen (and saving a copy?) the copier output increasing in volume AND redundancy. When the copier had finished and the woman stood up from the computer in the back corner of the store I took my separated piles (those which I would pay for and those which I would not) to the counter where the woman brusquely counted both in front of me and began my total. After I objected to paying for the repeats, she pulled my thumb drive from her pocket and slapped it down on the counter, dramatically threw the results of her inattentive curiosity into the trash, counted the stack I needed, rang me up and DROPPED my change on the counter. This is the third time I have been to the store for copies; the guy who helped me previously caused me to consider getting a mailbox there rather than the post office, while the woman inspired me to get any future copies from the library, draft a letter to UPS corporate about the Ft Dodge franchise, and write this review.

I was having trouble with my new landlord in a different city and instead of letting me know up front all of the different checks and forms I had to send, they kept on adding on new forms that I had to fill out and then overnight to them. It was incredibly frustrating, but the employees at this UPS branch were very helpful. They were quick to offer the cheapest way to send what I needed send and each time that I had to go into the store, I was in and out within five minutes each. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

If you order something online and ask for a specific paper medium, you won't get what you asked for. For example: You order and pay for something on 32lb laser paper, you receive a product printed on 28lb paper. When you ask them to fix it you get a product on glossy paper. When you then look the employee in his ghostlike, lifeless eyes and ask why they printed it again on the incorrect paper, you get only a confused stare. Bottom line: If you need something done in a specific way, don't come to this store.

I have the utmost confidence on my items being handled in a professional and caring manner. This UPS store is run by a couple who sincerely care about their customers. I just went through a really bad breakup that ended with me needing to move out and go back across country to be with family. I called the store and told them the situation, basically that I needed to be out ASAP. The husband came an hour later and we had my ENTIRE LIFE packed in 2 hours. It would have normally taken me days to pack. On top of that, the labor was completely free! On top of that, they gave me all sorts of discounts on the packing and tried everywhere they could to save me some cash. They also gave some friendly life advice that felt like I was talking with someone closer than the manager of a UPS store. All in all, you have to go here period. Even though its a UPS store, this place is the embodiment of what's right with small business America. 10/10, if I'm ever in the area again will definitely give them my business.

I recently moved to this city, and was looking for a UPS Drop Box that I could place my prepaid package in. I thought I had found one, but instead the directions brought me to this UPS Storefront. I went inside and found two people working in the store, each waiting on a customer. Neither acknowledged my presence with a hello, or a nod of the head or a "Be right with you." So a waited a few minutes, and then tried to ask if I was in the correct place or if there was a drop box here for me to leave my package. The older gentleman behind the counter turned to me and said quite sharply "Wait your turn. Can't you see I have a customer?" I said I was sorry, didn't want to intrude, but was unsure if I was in the right place. He ignored me. The other customer at that point tried to help me with where he thought their might be a drop box, and then the younger employee waiting on him said that they actually were a drop location and that I could leave my package with him. I thanked him, thanked the customer he was waiting on, apologized again to the older man, and started to leave. As I was walking out the door I could hear the older person talking about me, and asking "Can you believe how rude she was?" If I wan not so shocked and shaken by this event, I would have turned around, taken back my package and went to find someplace else to mail it from. I have since learned that this is a franchise, not owned by UPS. There does not seem to be any place to complain about the poor service. But I see that I am not alone in my experience with this store. Hopefully the market will help with this, as I am sure I am not the only person who will go out of my way to find another location to do UPS business. This franchise is very conveniently located for me, but I no longer use it for anything and never will.

The guy behind the counter at this store is RUDE. Took a package with a prepaid label in to drop off and asked for a receipt. The gentleman behind the counter was helping someone else and told me it would be a few minutes (big emphasis on minutes as though to deter me). I told him I would wait. He then began having a conversation with the other customer about how stupid it was for me to be waiting for a receipt when I have the information on the sheet the label came on. I wanted a confirmation that the package had been dropped off, easy enough, right? He then made a comment that I probably threw the info away. He just kept making snide remarks ABOUT ME to the other customer IN FRONT OF ME. Luckily, there was another employee who helped me without being rude. I would rather drive to the other side of town than be treated that way.

Saturday afternoon....I finally found the UPS store… It was raining… But when I saw the gentleman come out from behind the counter and run to the door – I assumed he was coming to help me with my small box: instead he Turned the lock, pointed to the signage..... then turned again & opened the door slightly and told me he was closed: he had already closed out his cash register. I pointed out that my watch said it was 3 o'clock-- he kept repeating he was sorry, but when I asked if he ever wanted me as a customer, he repeated he was sorry.....If he owns the franchise, he needs to develop a better attitude. If this was a Saturday employee--he needs to be replaced by someone with a customer friendly attitude. He could've locked the door behind me--and taken My money-- The box was ready to ship but I didn't have a UPS slip, etc I offered to give him cash, if he could just take the package and mail it out on Monday. Really sad to see this kind of total indifference to future customers….Particular new customers. I was going to give up on the FedEx on Broadway near Central Market as this is more convenient but it is 24 hour and they actually want customers--and try to accommodate them. Yet today at 3:01 there is definitely something more important to do --which is why he was dashing to lock the door so I couldn't get in!

The woman behind the counter was rude and kind of snarky. I went in a little after hours not knowing they had closed because the lights were on, the door was unlocked and other customers were being tended to. When I asked the woman how her day was going she said, "Oh, not sure yet. We're closed." I apologized for coming in and said that Google maps showed they would be open. She pointed me to the front door and said No, it's plain as day on the door. All this while she was sealing my box. The only reason I gave two stars instead of one is because a gentleman who appeared to be her husband came along and scolded her and took over. He was polite and took care of my package. I needed to ship a book back to Amazon. I printed the UPS shipping label that Amazon provides and took it along with the box into the store. The employee who greeted me was polite and attentive. He had no problem using the label I printed for the purposes of shipping. The reason I rated this store as Poor though is because I ran out of tape and was not able to affix the label to the box. But I figured I was going to a store that ships stuff all day long, they'll have some tape I can use, right? Oh they had tape, but the little UPS dude charged me $1 to tape my box (or I could buy my own roll of tape). C'mon, really? In this current economic environment where good customer service is critical, you're going to charge me to put tape on a box? Maybe, and thus is being very generous, maybe that would be justified if it's a very large box (car, elephant, orca, etc.), but I was shipping a small hard back book! A 12" piece of tape would have easily secured both the box and the label! I can't see myself going back in here again short of a dire emergency (hellfire and brimstone, alien invasion, zombie apocalypse, etc.)

I have been using online printing services for years, however this all changed recently. My latest project had a strict deadline, and I submitted all the printable goods to the company with well over 2 additional weeks to spare. Long story short it was a nightmare and I was stuck in a frazzled panic. Having walked by the UPS store a few times I decided to stop inside... I admit I was extremely skeptical at the idea. However when I walked in a gentleman named Lindsey greeted me promptly and went above and beyond every expectation I could have. Everything turned out perfect and with time to spare. Friendly and very helpful staff. Did an amazing job printing 200+ wedding invitations for us! My fiance and I were looking to save money on wedding invitations but we still wanted something high quality and professional. We found blank invitations that you print yourself (Hobby Lobby has them) and I called the UPS Store to see if they could print them for us. I talked to the owner (Donna) and we worked out a plan for how everything would look. All I had to do then was send PDFs of everything we needed and they took care of the rest! We ended up having front and backs of different sized cardstock printed, along with addressed envelopes and address labels. All in all a great experience, and we saved a ton of money!

I had my photo taken here for a passport. I then took the photo downtown to the Dept. of Court Records in the City/County building to apply for my passport. The clerk would not accept the photo that this UPS store provided for me. They said that the photo was too dark, I then paid the fee and had my passport photo taken by them. On my way home, I stopped at the UPS store with the photo that they took and the receipt to get my money back. Was told that the manager was not there and to come back the next day. I came back the next day, manager was not there again. I said I have the receipt and the photo, the refund is only for 17.07, was told again only manager will issue credit. Came back a 3rd time, was told manager just left, come back in an hour...REALLY?! Finally, when I came back the manager was there, but he made me wait 15 minutes while he was on the phone...then he had a total attitude with me saying that nothing was wrong with the photo, This man was a total arrogant JERK. He finally gave me my money back, but I will never go here again.. He needs to learn how to deal with people. His customer service SUCKS!

The Manager at this store gives you the worst kind of Customer Service there is. He was rude, arrogant, mean, impatient and totally unwilling to help. We had to get some document notarized and we took an appointment to meet him. When we reached the appointment hour we were told he was in a meeting. We were made to wait 20 mins. After 20 mins the manager comes walking to the counter and (no apologies for keeping us waiting) in a menacing tone almost shouts "Who are the ones who needs a notary"? And from there everything he said with his mouth and face makes your blood boil. Since this was the first time we were getting some documents notarized, we were not sure of the procedure and this man here was not ready to help us in any way. We finally got the documents "acknowledged" rather than "notarized" which ultimately served no purpose. In conclusion, apart from the insult we had to shell out $35 for 3 worthless papers which we had to trash eventually, because he did not give us the right suggestions. Never going back to that godforsaken place! EVER!

Get your estimate for custom boxes, packing and shipping in writing. Without that, your shipping cost is liable to go up like ours did. $30.00 up for the boxing and packing, and $10.00 up for the shipping with no explanation for the difference. A $40.00 increase might not seem like a lot to some, but to an artist, it is a lot. Believe me. And although The UPS Store will honor the declared value if they pack and box your artwork, from what I observed and we discussed, they tend not to pack as well as you can do yourself with a little time, effort, common sense, and boxes made of double 275 gsm cardboard. Plus bubble pack, styrofoam corners and styrofoam peanuts. All available at Home Depot for much, much less than you pay at The UPS Store for their packing services and materials. I would not have minded the price gouging so much if they had not acted like it was an inconvenience to them for us to be shipping our artwork with UPS. We were told by the person making our box that he might not be able to make it before the end of the day by the shipping deadline so that it would ship with our other packages that we had packed ourselves, and there was still 4 hours lead time to the shipping deadline. Fortunately one of the employees said she would do her best to make sure that everything went out together and on that day, which she did and it did. Had it not been for her intervention, I would have given a one star review.

OK, I have had a box with these folks since 2005. I have found that these guys find a way for me (and I have witnessed with other customers) to get the most for what you pay. i.e. they know when packages really get there and can recommend a safe, less expensive option. They are also the most customer oriented I have known in the area. The guys will look in my mailbox to tell me what is in it, so I know whether I need to stop or not. Another guy that works there has made special arrangements on more than one occasion for after hours service so I could meet a deadline. Finally, the owner...he does everything his employees do and these employees I am talking about have been with him forever, which is hard to do nowadays. FINALLY...Any "unfriendly" experience was likely a misinterpretation of their business demeanor and focus on getting the job done efficiently. It could be that the person who interpreted there experience as "not friendly", has trouble listening or expressing there needs clearly (as the lack of writing skills of the other opinion here seems to suggest).

Very rude manager called Jeff. His coworker is of the same style. Money is their language but their service is horrible. They could not provide me with explanations on why my international package was not delivered. They ask for nearly 140$ to get it back to me. In other words, I would pay for 200+ $ for my shipment to cruise through Europe for 6 weeks and get back to me not having been delivered. The manager clearly lacks common sense and seems to only care for the green note. No customer service manners or potential. A couple of professional friends reported similar experience. UPS should reconsider their affiliation with this private store. I have experienced opposite behavior with FedEx or with “real” UPS store.

I should have just went to the post office. Terrible customer service (over-charging and flat out lies that it was the same price as what the PO charges - my dad worked for the PO for 30+ years so I know differently. I also ship a number of parcels and know that this 5# package doesn't cost the same as the 30# one that I shipped at the PO the other day), and the manager in the background very blatantly (and loudly) being rude and condescending to another customer. I should have cancelled my transaction and left, that's on me, but it won't happen again. Shame on me for wanting to support locally owned/franchised businesses. I won't be back and neither will my friends and family.

Completely tried to overcharge by automatically giving the highest delivery service pricing and then arguing when I said their pricing was too high compared to UPS. You have to specifically tell them to provide all the options for delivery to get the lower priced options. Same for mailing an envelope....a little less than 3 ounces was 6 stamps, but should be 3 stamps. And all the guy said was "I go by what the scale tells me." Avoid, avoid, avoid! Too many other UPS stores more honest.

Had a horrible experience. This is a privately owned store apparently which pays UPS corporate for its services. Consequently it charges the customer a premium over what a corporate store would charge. Aside from that I paid for 2 day shipping ($70) for a small package worth far less than the shipping cost. Knowing the recipient worked during delivery hours and would be leaving state the night the package should arrive I explicitly asked if the package would be left at the door. The clerk said yes. Just to be sure I asked again, specifically requesting that the package be left at the door no matter what; no signature, no liability if it is stolen off the porch, nothing. Just leave the package in all cases. Again the clerk responded yes. Much to my dismay watching the tracking reports 2 days later I saw that they attempted to deliver it, but didn't leave it when no one answered the door and would try to deliver it again the next day (when the recipient would be out of state as I knew beforehand). Frustrated I called this store in Thornton and the local branch in Missouri delivering it. Both gave me the same run around saying that they would try to deliver it the next day. After explaining to them it would be pointless with the recipient out of state for 2 weeks and that I requested the package be left when I shipped it I decided to drive to this local Thornton branch. Speaking with the manager I politely requested a refund since the package was not delivered as promised. He replied since they would still try to deliver th package a few more times it wasn't a "failed delivery" in the system yet and could not issue a refund until it failed. Low and behold the next day the package was dropped off at the front door and the package was considered delivered. I again went to the store arguing for a refund and was told that it could not be issued. The store manager told me I had to request a refund through UPS corporate since they were the delivering party and his store was independent and had already paid UPS corporate for the refund. Despite thinking this was absurd I went ahead and called UPS corporate. After several hours on the phone being transferred and put on hold I was told they can't issue refunds for packages delivered through independent locations and I should request it through the local store. Going back to the local store I was flat out refused a refund, albeit with a phony smile and "Have a nice day". Bottom line, I paid this local branch in Thornton to deliver the package to the doorstep of the recipient in 2 days and it was not delivered. If the problem was with UPS corporate it should have been the local branch's responsibility to seek a refund for themselves while issuing me a refund regardless. An analogy comes to mind. Let's say I pay a builder to build a house for me and he subcontracts the plumbing. If the plumbing fails and floods my house I expect to be reimbursed by the builder. I do not expect for the builder to tell me to go ask his plumber for compensation. The builder should compensate me then seek his own compensation from his subcontractor. The local UPS store is the irresponsible builder and the plumber is UPS corporate who was contracted to deliver the package.

I have had the opportunity to go to this location for several reasons over the past week (mailing packages, purchasing stamps, purchasing boxes to ship Christmas gifts, scanning documents and having a project printed). Every time I came in, whether the store was packed with people or not, the guys were friendly, helpful, ready to serve and made it a very pleasant experience. Typically mailing packages this time of year is a chore, but they make it easy and something to look forward to. And - homemade goodies galore! In the past week this has become my "go to" place for any of my shipping, printing or copying needs. Plus it is super convenient to my home and home office. Stop by - you won't be disappointed!

I have been using this location for many years. I live in a rural area, and my home's mailbox is unsafe to use, so we opted to pay for a private mailbox at this location, long before it was a UPS store. I used to own my own small business, and I've had my own customer service issues, so I have a good bit of sympathy for the struggles of a small business. However this place is not addressing their issues... and they are many. It seems to be a husband/wife operation. The husband is not very business oriented, and is a bit of a goof. I like him ok, but I have seen him act really creepy towards other people. Is wife is more reliable, level headed and hard working... but despite the kind words I have for her, they have really serious problems. When we make a payment, by mail, it takes them months to find the payment and credit our account. We get past due notices after every payment. We once had the mail removed from our box, replaced with a "pay your bill, we are bouncing your mail" notice 3 months after our on-time payment. We have had the locks changed on our box, and had to pay for a key, after making an on-time payment. After the lock was changed, the Husband insisted they never change locks. The wife admitted they did for non-payment. Right hand, meet left. For a business involved with mail, it would be nice if they opened theirs a little more often. When we got service, we were told they would send us email when we receive packages. Never once has that happened. I know they have my email, as they sometimes send me past due notices, after my on-time payments. When I receive packages, I have to know what I am expecting when I go there, otherwise it is very likely I will not receive all of my packages. Sometimes it takes 3 or 4 different visits to the store with all sorts of delivery proof to get them to eventually find my missing package. If I am not expecting a package, it is extremely unlikely I will receive it. Basically they loose 30% of the packages in their back room, and you have to be persistent if you want to get everything you have. At one po8int they developed a system to better track the packages, but because they forget to use it, it actually made things much worse as every unlogged package is lost. November packages can be lost until the following spring. They close early, and frequently alter the hours sign to cover up for it. It is not unusual for two or three weeks to never be able to catch them open during business hours, so picking up packages that don't fit the box is often delayed by weeks. They frequently have problems with the after-hours security gate that protects their back room, when after hours customers come in the store to check their box. The security gate can go unlocked for 6 months at a time. I'm guessing this is a money problem, the store must have cash-flow issues. I have a lot of sympathy for that, but it would take me less than an hour to at least go to home depot and buy a padlock and a hasp to manually lock the gate. One year I dropped off my cable box there, after cancelling my Time Warner service. Time Warner did not get the box in a timely manner, and damaged my credit by reporting an $900 collection item for a $60 cable box. The box did eventually show up, but I can't prove when I dropped it off, so it went on my credit. This is probably the worst thing they have done to me, and the impact of that was not trivial. Keep in mind I have been using this location for a long time, this is not just a single isolated bad experience. It is more of a predictable trend at this point. Note none of my issues are because I am unprepared, or have unreasonable expectations, or a lack of sympathy for people struggling with a small business. And when I interact with the staff, I frequently get service at the counter that is both friendly and efficient. So this is a UPS store. It is not a US Post Office. So expecting mail you drop here to get the same day postmark is unrealistic, and they don't have USPS shipping materials, they aren't the post office.

the owner is super nice, he's a jokester so I can see how others may find him being rude or whatever, but that's prob b/c those people lame. I thought he was fun and funny, he's about business, direct, straight to the point. My girlfriend and I brought in boxes and boxes of stuff for Amazon and he was patient, helped alot, even cut down the box size for us and watched the boxes while we ran home to grab something we forgot. anyways, great place and my go to ups store.

I've been going to this store for over 7 years now and I have always been treated with respect and good service. I don't know what some people expect from their UPS store, but I've always been treated well and given efficient service. There are times when customers are not well prepared themselves which can cause delays with service during busy times but that's not on Ronnie or Julie, that's on the customer.

Take your business elsewhere! Run, don't walk! I know it's cliche, but if I could give this place 0 stars I would. I used this place because it was close to work and now I'll never use them again for anything, and I would advise the same to everyone out there. I had to mail a letter to pay a bill. Sounds like a pretty easy task right? Only this place could make it more inconvenient. The letter I was mailing had to be post marked by that day, otherwise I would receive a fine for a late payment. I had the envelope, but no stamp, and I wanted to make sure it was post marked for that same day. When I went to the counter to get this taken care of, I was assured that it would most definitely be post marked that day as I expressed my concern about that being important. The lady working the counter rang it up and the total came out to be around 53 cents (I don't recall the exact penny amount). I proceeded to take out my debit card and swipe it and out of nowhere she replied back with a MAJOR attitude, "You can't use a card for an amount that small!". I never carry cash, let alone change. I told her I didn't have anything else and she just looked at me. I had to go out to the car and dig around for change to mail this stinking bill!!! Then it gets even worse... I got a letter in the mail not too long later saying that I was being charged a late fee for my bill since the post mark was a day too late...yep, a day AFTER I dropped it off it was post marked, not the same day like I was told it would be. Not only has this place given me a terrible experience, made an easy task difficult, it has now COST ME MORE MONEY! After seeing the other reviews, I'm not surprised that it's happened to others. Take my advice and don't give these people your money!!!!

I called ahead and asked if this location provided notary services. The employee responded that they did as long as we came in before 5:00 PM. When we arrived at about 4:20 and informed the clerk on duty, Deborah, that we needed to have a power of attorney form notarized, she became very short and impatient. She seemed totally confused by the document as if she had never seen a legal form before. When the line of customers started growing while she was stressing out over the document, she rudely informed us that this was the reason why she stopped notarizing documents after a specific time (even though we had brought the document to her 40 minutes prior to the 5:00 deadline). We even told her that it was okay if she wanted to go assist the other customers while we waited, but she decided it would be a more productive use of time to keep stressing out and talking down to us. In the end, she finally notarized my signature, but I think its safe to say that I won't be visiting this location again after the blatant unprofessionalism shown to us. Find another location if you can help it and save yourself the headache of dealing with a rude employee (especially if you need something notarized).

Went there today at 545pm even though they close at six to deposit a check into USAA as this location is contracted with USAA to provide that service. I was told the computer was already turned off due to the store closing in 15 minutes. Well, the store wasn't closed yet so the computer should not have been shut down. And even if it was off, computers do not take an hour to boot up....turn it on and provide the service you are contracted to do until 6pm. Good thing I didn't have a package that needed to be submitted as I guess this store closes at 545 not 6.

Amazing service. Dane and his associates are true proffesionals. The extra 10 cents for item is well the personalized service. When I walk through door. The staff here is not knowledgeable, and generally act like they don't care about your business. I ship with UPS very often, usually 5-10 packages per month, and recently that many packages per week. I've shipped ~$1000 this last month alone, using 5 different stores, and this one is the worst. The lack of knowledge on packing solutions has caused overcharges for packaging, and even packages they "couldn't ship" that other stores had no problem with. I always leave feeling that I've been overcharged on both packing and shipping. I've actually seen them fail to take simple measurements accurately and mark the dimensions on my box 6" over on one axis or another. Similar size and weight objects that the Willis store carefully boxes for $12 cost nearly $40 here, and are literally thrown in the box. I only stop here if I have the time and materials to have it pre-packed, and even then feel like I'm trying to get something under the iron curtain. The location is convenient if you work in the area, or are passing through, but it really is worth it to just get off early and go to another store. I've never had a drop-off here that didn't take less than half my lunch break, and the attitude to boot means that I won't be going back. I gave them several opportunities, and they apparently don't care about my business.

This location has never failed to amaze me on the poor customer service they provide. I work at a Marriott and I have tried to go there a couple of times and employees are never trained to know what to do or how send a package even. This morning as my friend and I tried getting a letter of support notarized, we went first thing in the morning and encountered the manager on duty, Joyce. Ever since we walked in she showed her poor experience in customer service being short and rude every second. As we asked to get the letter notarized she began to even read it. I have also worked for an attorney for over 2 years and never had someone wanting to read the letter to "see what it was about". As she kept reading, she said she could not do it because I had already signed the letter which is understandable and is why I asked to sign another sheet to prove and the signature is also on my id. She then continued to say that we should go to a bank and get it done because she didn't know what to do. Wrong. She did not want to do it. Or else, how is a manager on duty not know how to notarize a letter if that is one of the services UPS offers? I think this was a matter of discrimination for being Hispanic and having a letter of support be done for an immigration attorney. Maybe this particular employee should not be a manager after all, or work at all.
