From the moment we stepped in we were greated by the nice receptionist. The vet who checked our puppies was really nice and explained everything to us. We didn't feel rushed through the checkup at all...unlike at other places.

They were very gentle and caring with my very ill cat. They explained his prognosis very clearly and were thorough in going over all of his treatment options. They were upfront and clear about the cost of the tests they were recommending and explained what each test was for so I could make an informed decision on what tests to authorize without feeling pressured. The final bill was more than I hoped would be necessary when I came in but still within what I could reasonably afford and was well itemized so I understood exactly what I paid for. My cat is now slowly recovering at home on the diet they prescribed and I'm sure without their help he wouldn't have made it.

We've been using them for years under their wellness plans. They love our big dogs and treat them like royalty! Sort of busy but worth the wait.

When we rescued our pup, she had her initial visits at Pet Vet in The Heights and Banfield Sawyer Heights was a world of difference. I like the drop-off service, but I do want to know what the area looks like where she stays when she's there all day and am curious how often they take her out to go potty. The staff is really friendly though and they always follow-up after her visits to check on her. After she was spayed I was scared she'd never want to go back there, but she's always happy when walking in the front door and when leaving.

I got my dog neutered here and they let me take him home with the wrong sized cone. He opened his stitches up that night. I took him back, and they screwed up the cone size a 2nd time. They got it right the third time, but still tried to charge me for all 3 cones even though it was their negligent mistake. I went here for a year before realizing how bad they are. They try and sell you things you do not need without telling you they are optional – I caught them red handed. They screw up appointments. They lure you in with the wellness plan, but you do not need it. Find a local vet that actually cares about your pet and not taking as much of your money per visit as they can.

Good place to get food and toys but Banfield did a terrible job spaying my female Dalmatian. Apparently, if your dog is spayed too young or incorrectly, female dogs cannot hold their pee (i.e. incontinence). Now my dog pees whenever she goes to sleep. Of course, Banfield won't own up to their mistake. Always wait until your female dog has her first period or "heat cycle".

I've been paying $300 per year for a Wellness plan (billed monthly) for six years, and when my dog actually needs to come in I can't get an appointment for a week. In my experience, very few circumstances in which I require a vet can wait a week. The vets have been fine and staff friendly and helpful, but if I can't get service in a timely manner it is useless. I've had to go to other vets twice now because I couldn't get in for the already-paid-for service.

I've been bringing my pup here on the Wellness Plan for six months and have never had a problem. Everyone is friendly (particularly Ashley), it's new and clean, they're open seven days a week, and you effectively get free daycare when you drop off your pet in the morning.

After 2 AMAZING experiences here I signed both my Great Danes over to this Banfield. The Southgate one is HORRIBLE but this is our new go to vet clinic now! Both vets that we've seen (Dr. Hasenfratz and Dr. Henton) are amazing: friendly, knowledgeable and they interact so wonderfully with my Danes. Totally worth the 20 minute drive! I will be sending everyone I know here!

I moved to Banfield from a small Vet clinic for better communication. WARNING: They don't give a rats ass about you or your dog. Typical Big Box attitude here. They follow the clipboard religiously, and try to tack as much fees as they can on. Every time I go into one of the waiting rooms I'm miserable from cat dander for hours :( WHAT REALLY UPSET ME WAS THEY TURNED ME IN TO THE LOCAL HUMANE SOCIETY FOR NOT HAVING LICENSES ON MY TWO DOGS! DID NOT MENTION IT TO ME, JUST TURNED ME IN AND I GOT A LETTER FROM THE LOCAL H.S. :( I have SERIOUS doubts about continuing a relationship with a business I pay really good money to that criminalizes me without so much as a "hey, did you know the city requires a license?" And save your money on the dog training too, the teacher (I'm visibly disabled, btw) humiliated me in front of the whole class for an hour because my dog read his hostility and was being protective of me, which is kinda his job. I never finished the course.

I am extremely disappointed in this Banfield location and will never return - two strikes and im done! The first time we visited this location was shortly after we moved to Colorado Springs from Wichita, Ks - we started our dogs and cat wellness plans two years piro in Wichita and was very satisfied with the care and consideration they showed to all of us. We visited this location because our smallest dog had bad breath, need to have two teeth removed, and his teeth cleaned - we knew this because he visited the vet right before we moved. They took roughly 2 minutes to exam him, said he was fine and to go home. When questioned about an antibiotic and the removal of his teeth we were treated like fools - the Vet was upset about being questioned and wanted nothing more to do with us. We left, unsure of what had happened and planned to visit a different location - that was a month ago. Well today my boyfriend took our bigger dog to the same location (this is the closest one to our home) because he was throwing up and acting strange - the vet never even came out of the back room and told the receptionist to take him the pet hospital. She wouldn't take 5 minutes to exam our dog, give us her thoughts and then send us to a place that was going to charge $75 to do the same thing. WHAT THE HELL AM I PAYING YOU EVERY MONTH FOR IF YOU KEEP PUSHING US OUT THE DOOR. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR DOG, THEY ARE LAZY AND INCONSIDERATE.

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. LIARS. TACK ON FEES AND WON'T TELL YOU WHY. I called and scheduled an appointment for the start of their puppy plan. It's a GOOD deal for puppys with low income owners. I had to go to class, so I sent my boyfriend with our puppy instead of me. The receptionist treated him rudely, and said that I would have to come back later and sign a form BUT they'd still perform the check up. My boyfriend goes into a room, and a nurse comes in to inform him that the vet 'didn't feel comfortable' performing the exam. My boyfriend left with NOTHING having been done to our puppy and they charged him $40 for NOTHING. I want to stress that they LIED to him to get him into a room, did NOTHING, and then charged him. They also told him that he couldn't be put on the plan, because he is not the main owner of our puppy(quote from receptionist to my boyfriend "when you break up it won't be your dog" rude) which means he could never bring in our puppy without me. I went to a different petsmart and told them this story, and they were flabberghasted about how we were treated. The Banfield on citadel drive saw me the same day, the vet was pleasant, and WHAT A SURPRISE I was able to put my boyfriend on the plan so he could help with the vet visits. They even put the $40 dollars toward the REAL exam we finally got for our puppy. The non-exam this petsmart provided and entered into their computer didn't even have a service on it. That's right, this Banfield charged us and entered into their computer $40 for absolutely no service. ON TOP OF THAT we scheduled a 'make up' appointment with this Banfield and they had a different vet listed to see us(I've seen other reviews talking about never seeing the same vet twice) the petsmart on citadel is scheduling us with the same vet so he can get to know our puppy. Go somewhere else. This place is awful.

I came here a few weeks back with my 12 yr old chihuahua. I told the vet that she was bleeding out of her nipples. They took her for atleast 4 hrs then called me and said they didnt know what I was talking about. I then told them that they needed to check again, so they kept her for another 3 hrs and still couldnt find anything. So I ended up just going to pick her up and sure enough as soon as I squeezed her top nipple.. blood squirted out. The vet then took a sample and I never heard a call back. I ended up just doing my own research and found out my girl has breast cancer :(

People are nice enough, but the company policies & pricing are outrageous! Buyer's beware, they won't just let ya leave without hitting you up for lots o $$$$! It's in the fine print that nobody reads. You will pay half as much anywhere else for the same care/products. Don't join Banfield!

Dr Langevin recognizes the problem and give helpful tips, and instruct the whole staff to help me and my puppy. this is a team who recognizes beyond the physical illness and gives help. mental/physical/behavioral are all part of the well being. thanks you all.

My girlfriend and I take our dog here as a part of one of their health plans. There were varying reviews for other banfields, and we were hesitant to sign up for the year, but so far we have been pleasantly surprised. The staff and docs are always polite and answer all of our questions. Although there is the occasional wait, they are very knowledge and still think they deserve the 5 star rating at this location. They will explain any charges if you just ask.

I have both of my dogs and my cat insured and cared for through Banfield. The Clive office staff is caring and responsive. They always follow-up the next day (which is very helpful when your pet has a reaction to vaccination). They remember my pets names and always remind me when appointments and vaccinations are due. I am very happy with their services.

My dog died in agony at the hands of this so called vet hospital. The doc did not diagnose him proprly and sent us home. Went back the next day. My dog was there all day again and we were told to take him to a vet hospital because Banfield didn't know what to do. We were too late to save him. They were sorry.

This place is the BEST Banfield I have ever went to. I was so pleased with the service, the compassion, the professional attitudes of staff and physcian. Dr. Mac Donald is thee Best I have ever had. My dogs are not young and I have had many vets cause I am very particular how I am treated and my dogs are treated and my experiences at this Banfield have always been perfect without complaint. I would recommend and have recommened this place and the above mentioned doctor to friends and family.

I have had my two dogs on the wellness plan for around 4 years. I have never had a problem with Banfield, except for last year when we went to the one on Southgate. It was terrible experience where I didn't even get to talk to the vet about the issues with my dogs. I talked to the technician by the front desk in front of a room full of people. The things they told me were completely contradictory to what they had told me just 6 months prior. It felt like they just wanted to take my money and for me to leave as quickly as possible. With that being said, I was very hesitant to schedule another appointment with Banfield. I seriously considered canceling their wellness plans and moving them to a different vet. But after some time really thinking about what I wanted to do, I decided to take a chance and schedule an appointment with a Banfield that was a little out of my way. I read the two reviews on this location and was skeptical of how my experience would go. My worries were not necessary, however, because this was one of the BEST vet experiences I've had. We were seen at 0815 in the morning and stayed during the whole visit, which lasted around an hour (and that's exactly how long we were told it would last, too). The lady at the front desk was very nice while checking us in, and the technician we saw was also very nice when we went into the exam room. They asked what questions or concerns we had and took the time to explain what needed to happen as far as their treatment. They were very calm while handling our dogs, which is nice because they're already scared and nervous at the vet as it is anyway. They made sure to get down low to the dogs' level to ensure our dogs were comfortable. They took our dogs back one at a time for their comprehensive exams and did not keep us waiting long. After the exams, the vet, Dr. Rizzardi, came in explained what was normal and what needed to be worked on. He was not condescending in any way and explained everything thoroughly. He gave us all the information we needed and answered all of the questions we had. One of our dogs will need a minor surgery on one of his teeth, and Dr. Rizzardi took the time to explain what the best payment options would be in order to complete the surgery, My husband and I were very satisfied with our experience at this location and will continue to schedule appointments with Dr Rizzardi for all of our dogs' needs. In light of this experience, we have to decided to keep our plan and have no concerns when it comes to scheduling our dogs for appointments anymore. Highly recommended for anyone in need of veterinary needs.

This was by far my worst experience at any Banfield hospital. My dog was taken back for a comprehensive exam and my husband and I could hear the staff yelling at my dog to stop! The vet admitted that it was them and that our dog was extremely poorly trained and she could not do an entire exam on him. My husband then said he didn't appreciate them yelling at our dog like that and the vet told us that "if you don't like the care you receive here, there are plenty of other banfields you can go to". After that I was done with this visit. My dog is very well trained and if the vet were to ask us to help him listen we would have absolutely no problem, but it seemed they wanted him in and out and they didn't really care about him at all. I could not believe the rudeness coming from a professional who acted extremely unprofessional. Nothing was explained to us and on our way out the vet tech came to give me a syringe with medication in it and said give this to your dog because we couldn't. I would never give my dog that because who knows what it is, so needless to say I will never return to this banfield ever again!

BEWARE OF THEIR PET WELLNESS PAYMENT PLANS! Good on-site staff - this review does not reflect my opinions of them. Just beware of the auto-pay for wellness plans! I have been taking my dog to this location of Banfield for 7 years. It was affordable and was a good option for regular vaccinations. If this review was just for the vet itself, I'd probably give it 3 stars. Slow wait times periodically, but honestly the staff was very courteous and the vets were helpful and I appreciate them all. I've been setup on regular payments with the wellness plan for the past 7 years and the monthly fee has always been auto-debited from my account. A few months ago I received a call from Banfield requesting an updated credit card number. I was walking into an important meeting so I asked them to call me back and I'd give it to them because I definitely wanted to continue my plan. I never heard from them again and to be honest - it slipped my mind. I just found out today that they sent me to collections and added a large fine! I never even received so much as a second phone call. You'd think that after 7 years of regular payments and trusting them with my pup they would at least give me a phone call before sending the account to collections. I work in customer service, so this completely baffles me.

I had a great experience at this location. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the vet was also friendly and knowledgeable. I made a 3:30 appointment and I was seen right away. I didn't like the room they put me in since it smelled weird and the staff said no problem and moved me to another room that hadn't been used that day. I did notice that there were a lot of staff in training so maybe the rude staff left. Office visit runs $40 and with all the treatment I had to have on my pet, my bill was high. However, my pet was just diagnosed with chronic kidney disease so a lot of treatment was necessary and hence, an unfortunately high bill. I signed up for their wellness plan which helped cut the costs down a lot. Either way, I was happy with the treatment I received here and I never felt pressured or coerced into buying extra treatments or diagnostic tests. The vet freely told me what she recommended and I made decisions from there. Great service Banfield, keep up the good work!

We've been with Banfield for several years. What you get with their Wellness plans is OK up to a point, but they always try to sell you extras, and I've saved more than $1000 by saying no, and our dogs are healthy enough without these extras. Another problem is that you rarely see a vet, mostly there is an intermediary between you and the vet, which inevitably leads to miscommunication. For example, this week I took one of our dogs for a yearly check up. He has a sore foot, which he hurt a couple of days ago. I asked the receptionist if the vet would look at his foot, this didn't happen. We had to take him back. Two days ago we took our two dogs for an annual check up and teeth cleaning. When we arrived, we were told that the dentist wasn't coming in. So we had to go back again two days later. One dog needed a tooth extracted. Banfield phoned to say the cost was $59, I said OK, then they said he needed an antibiotic - $39. I found the antibiotic online for $6 plus postage - how come $39 from Banfield? If you can afford to pay exorbitant fees, Banfield is probably OK but I can't say I'd recommend them and I am moving to a vet who gives personal attention and these admin failures doesn't occur. The staff at Banfield do their best within a flawed system.

I have been a Banfield customer for approximately ten years. Over the past several years, the quality of service has steadily declined to the point that remaining a Banfield customer is more of an inconvenience than anything else. My “home” vet location is in Yonkers, NY. I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out that Natalie and Shaquanna are amazing; they truly care about my pets and always do anything they can to help. However, these two employees are the only redeeming qualities at this point. I recently tried to make appointments for my two dogs to have check-ups due to health concerns. I was told I could not get an appointment until NOVEMBER. I think it goes without saying that this is unacceptable. When I asked if my dogs could get an EKG, I was able to schedule an appointment. I have to wonder if this is because this service is not included in my wellness plan. When the results came in, it was found that one dog (Mudslide) needed a dental procedure immediately. Since none of the three vets in New York had availablity for several months, I was forced to make an appointment in another state (Norwalk, CT) to have the procedure. However, the doctor would not make the appointment until she administered her own check-up, so I had to make an extra trip to Connecticut. Also, they would not allow the appointment to be a drop-off, so I had to lose time from work. Mudslide has since had the procedure, and now I will have to bring him back to Connecticut for his follow up visit. Taking into account the added time, driving, gas, etc, I don’t see why I should pay a monthly charge to Banfield if my local facility is not available to me. My other dog (Holly) was found to have severe cardiac issues that preclude her from having a dental cleaning. The doctor advised us to immediately start her on three heart medications, but Banfield Yonkers only had one in stock. Banfield Norwalk also did not have them in stock. So my dog was forced to miss a week of treatment while I waited for the medication to arrive in the mail. I was then told I could schedule a quick follow up visit for Holly on Saturday 7/11 at 12:15 pm. On 7/10, Shannon from Banfield Yonkers advised me that the doctor has to take lunch at that time, so I needed to come at 10am. It is abundantly clear to me that Banfield’s corporate offices have little concern for their customers, no respect for their time and no consideration for people and their pets. I’ve gotten calls before with managers of other locations trying to placate me, promising that things were changing. I don’t need more empty promises. I need to know what I’m paying for. Shannon just advised me that the next appointment available at Banfield Yonkers is in DECEMBER. Are my monthly fees going to be suspended until then? Over the past month I’ve spent an additional $2200 in vet costs (over my monthly charge). I’d expect a company to do everything it can to keep loyal customers who are committed to caring for their pets. I spoke with a few of the doctors at the various locations. The common theme is that doctors cannot be retained because Banfield insists on packing too many appointments into the day without ensuring the proper staff is available. I’m sure this message will fall on deaf ears, but I thought you should know that where I used to encourage friends and family to go to Banfield, I now advise them to stay away at all costs and I will NEVER sign up another pet with Banfield.

I love the staff! They are ALWAYS very nice not only with us but also with our dogs. They always talk to them and let them know what's going on so they feel more comfortable with the procedures. I will never go to any other Pet Hospital. The staff always remembers me and my pets and take the extra steps to recall details. Many vets feel so impersonal and like a McDonalds but this place is the exact opposite. Clean, quality, knowledgeable, personable, and they know what to watch for in my pups and that is priceless. Have to recognize Dr. Spears, Dr. Schell, and the tech Emily for being so very awesome with my pets. If you need a vet - go here and no where else.

I don't recommend this place at all to anyone. All they want is your money, the staff are rude, they don't know what they are talking about half the time. I pay $44 dollars a month for the wellness plan I thought would be a good idea. Every time I call to see if they could take my sick dog in they say their booked. And it's not my fault because my dog gets sick out of nowhere it's not like I had it plan .I'm paying $45 dollars for no reason.

9/12/2010 I was giving my dog (8 month old lab-boxer mix) his walk at 8:30am, he escaped and got hit by a car! (I feel completely guilty). Brought him to Banfield Pet Hospital to fix his leg. They started talking about internal bleeding, stabilizing the dog, traumatic shock etc. Just to tell me later that they did not do leg surgeries nor overnight care, they ended referring me to another place. Rex was waving the tail, seemed the same Rex as always, but with pain in the leg. They scared me, I paid them and lost 4 hrs without having the problem solved.... The staff really care about animals but the procedures of the hospital is extremely business oriented. Do not be foolished by them, my dog got his surgery in a one-vet clinic. If you find an experienced good vet, the whole show of staff only helps to increase the costs. I think I easily saved $1000 in the whole procedure.

For basic visits, check ups and tests, we have been taking our dog here for many years. The doctors are very kind and the staff makes us and our dog feel comfortable. They do not perform more complicated surgeries and ultrasounds but they have been able to refer us appropriately. For basic medical care, we have been extremely pleased.

This place is in PetSmart and is terrible. The "doctor" Dr. Martinez was very short and insensitive. I had to explain my cat's symptoms multiple times to 3 different people before getting to speak w/ him. Then, he doesn't listen to my cat's symptoms, he simply wants to run $500 of tests. Many of the tests he wanted to perform were for outdoor cats! Meanwhile, my cat's never been outside. They over-drugged my cat calling him "fractious" and now he won't come near me 2 days later. I'm so sorry i put my cat thru all of that to find out they couldn't find anything. I'm not surprised. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM HERE!

I was told over the phone that my appointment was at 9:15. The receptionist kept saying "9:00... 9:15.. I mean 9:00... 9:15" Finally she settled on 9:15. I showed up at 9:00 just in case. At 9:45 I asked if I was going in soon. I was told that my appointment was at 9:30. I knew it wasn't, but I shrugged it off considering even if it was, they were still late. I was finally called in at 10:00. Then, I felt like the vet was snarky with me about the fact that my adult cat had not yet had vaccines. Yeah, it's because he was FERAL and we took him in two months ago. Now, here I am, getting him vaccines like I should. Lastly, what kind of vet tech is allergic to cats? Seriously? You can't touch my cat as a VET TECH because you're ALLERGIC? Never going back.

I have been very happy with the vets at this Banfield and will continue to go there. I have saved so much money by subscribing to the wellness plan it is worth every penny of it. I take the plan that has the annual physical, shots and dental cleaning, which the cleaning by itself is $250.00. Having spent $1000.00's of dollars over the years, finding the Banfield wellness plan has been great.

The vets there are good and they are all kind to the animals but the front desk staff ignores faxes they receive for RX requests from pet pharmacies. It's so very annoying. I don't understand why I have to call Banfield to get them to respond to the pet pharmacy's fax. The pharmacy informed me that they faxed a request to Banfield EVERYDAY for the past week with no response. My dog could drop dead waiting for her medicine. Totally ridiculous.

They don't know how to handle cats. I'm accustomed to paying for sedation but all of a sudden they cam out with another $100+ to monitor her heart rate. I told them I will not pay that extra just so they can do what they're supposed to with a cat under sedation and they better do their job like they're supposed to! I switched to the Petsmart in Edison and they don't know how to properly handle cats there either. I'm cancelling the plans for all 4 cats! Their waiting area is full of loud dogs which aggravates my cats. They always want to take the cats "in the back" for everything but I refuse. You're going to do everything in front of me.

The staff is very friendly and great with the animals, but they are much more expensive than other vets around the area and perform many tests that seem over the top and unnecessary. They were constantly trying to sell us more tests, medications, and various other pet supplies that were very costly. If you are looking for more conservative, cost-effective care I would not go here. If you are wanting everything checked out, tested, treated, etc than they are certainly very thorough.

Horrible experience today at Banfield. I was told today's booster shot was covered by the wellness plan. Had to work tonight so my girlfriend agreed to take him. When they got all done, she was told that there was a 39 dollar charge. WHAT? The girl at the front claimed "this is like only my 7th day". When I got on the phone with "Dr." of the practice, she became very upset and said this was going in to collections! MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THE COST OF THINGS THERE BECAUSE THEY WON'T TELL YOU. The wellness program works in theory until you throw in a bunch of low rate vets and fresh out of school techs that have no clue about how to run a business.

My dog and I have been going to banfields at stapleton for almost a year now. We found them because we were new to the neighborhood and they are the closest vet to our home. My fiance and I are young professionals and cannot afford a really nice vet at this time, but we have never had any concerns with our dog's medical care at banfields. The staff is very friendly and already knows my dog by name. They always explain what the treatment plan is beforehand and then will review any cost or changes to that plan with you. We are signed up for one of the Wellness Programs through banfields and I could not be more pleased with the services and discounts we have received through this program. My dog is a 2 year old lab and by nature, often gets into trouble. Through the Wellness Program, I can bring my dog in to see the vet at any time free of charge. When I call they are often able to see us immediately, which I really appreciate. The only reason I did not give banfields 5 stars is that I feel they're rooms are a little cramped. We plan on bringing our dog to banfields for many years to come!

We have been very happy with Banfield Pet Hospital. At first, it was just about keeping our hound up on her shots, but now that she has a chronic condition she requires a little more attention. We do have the Wellness Plan, and have been grateful for it since her illness began. We have experienced nothing but excellent service, and our dog is never afraid to go there (which is a good sign). I would, and do, recommend this office to my pet-owning friends in our area.

THIS IS THE WORST ANIMAL HOSPITAL EVER! THEY ARE AWFUL-THEY ARE EXPENSIVE-THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR PETS-THEY ARE JUST MONEY PUSHERS AND NOT PET PEOPLE!!!! FURTHERMORE THEY ALWAYS MESS UP AND YOUR PET PAYS FOR IT! THE DOCTOR THAT DID MY DOGS SURGERY FAILED TO DO IT WELL AND WE HAD TO HAVE HIM PUT UNDER AGAIN TO RE-SEW A MISTAKE. THAT WAS ONE ISSUE, THEY GAVE US THE WRONG MEDS FOR MY DOG TO LATER FIND OUT THEY WERE FOR CATS! THEY TURN OVER STAFF OFTEN AND ARE AWFUL DO NOT GO HERE - I CAN ONLY ASSUME THEY TURN OVER VETS AND STAFF BECAUSE THEY ARE SO AWFUL AND DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR PETS. BANFIELD IS THE WORST

This is the WORST place to take your pet. They are WAY expensive and the vet and techs have NO clue what they are doing. For a teeth clean and extraction for my dog it was $636 and they told me to give my diabetic dog her insulin with NO food prior to the clean (which would have killed her). I told the tech that and she went to check with the vet and quickly corrected herself. Not to mention I had to wait an hour to drop her off the day of the clean. A process that would have taken 5 minutes took 65 minutes. You will regret going there!

Do not take your animal here! My dog sophie went in for a "routine" operation, and she died in front of my wife and I 45 min. later. The vet later admited she could of "handeld" the situation better. Do not put yourself what we went through!

I have read the previous reviews and they all say Banfield is expensive and they do tend to be on the pricey side which is why I only gave them 4 stars. I have taken pets there for a least 13 years. I did have one pet die in surgery but the dog had a perforated bowel and the Vet was in tears when the dog could not be saved. It was not the Vet's fault. I have been there for a severe bee sting reaction, neutering, ear infection, eye injury etc. The receptionist is beyond kind and always helpful. The vet. assistants are the same. The vet I see, Dr. Orth is fantastic and I would trust her with my pets any day. It also comes in handy to have a Vet that has weekend and evening hours for those emergencies that can come up. And they do not charge extra for weekend and evening visits as most other Vet's do. I also enjoy being able to look around at the latest dog toys if I have to wait. But when I have had an appt. I have not had to wait very long.

My regular office was fully booked so I took a chance and came to this location and was not satisfied. The doctor didn't seem to care and simply prescribed my dog with about 10 different medications coming up to a grand total of $140. The majority of these medications seemed pointless and didn't really address the problem. I would not recommend this office.

The vet with long blondish hair is terrible. I like the wellness plan due to my dog has to go in a lot because he's a rescue dog and not very healthy. This lady caused my dogs anal sacks to swell due to she messed with them at his first visit for no reason. I've done research and you aren't supposed to mess with them unless something is wrong. She tried to argue with me and i was so scared of her touching my dog. I wouldn't let her compress then she was in the wrong and it's sad that i had to argue with this lady who had a degree hurt my dog and wanted me to pay almost 200 dollars crazy and madness i will never take my doing here again. And would not recommend this banfield to anyone and i was actually going to report then to the state.

i took my dog in and purchased one of their plans, i wanted nothing more then for them to tell me why my dog was coughing and hacking things up all the time. they said they would look at him when they gave him the shots the plan included and then asked me to leave my dog there (which i agreed too) and they said they would call me when i could get him and if anything came up. they told me it would be $100 when i came to pick him up. after 6 hours they called me complaining that their staff needed to go home and wanted to know why i hadn't been their yet after i told them i hadn't been told to come get him yet they said to come get him now. when i got their they said it was $120 not $100 i asked why and they said that they gave him an extra shot (even though they had promised to call BEFORE doing anything to him i didnt already know about.) they offered no apology or discount. when i called to make an appointment for him to get his coughing taken care of they said they needed to do is dental cleaning my plan had included before they looked at him and that they would set an appointment after the dental cleaning to look at him again. i will never to take any animal there again and would not recommend them to anyone. they only want your money and care nothing for your pet or you.

I have been paying monthly for the most expensive comprehensive plan at Banfield for my dog for 3 years. The main reason I took the plan was for the yearly teeth cleaning. However, every time I take my dog in for her "comprehensive care plan" they find something extra to charge me for usually costing over $100 per visit. Today when I took her in for her yearly teeth cleaning they told me that if anything abnormal comes back from the pre-op blood work (which is included in the plan) I would be charged $150.00 just because it is abnormal!!? I thought I misunderstood because I pay for a plan that covers blood testing including pre-op testing for her cleaning! When I questioned what I was paying for, I was told that anytime any test in my plan comes back abnormal I would be charged! WHAT THE HECK IS THE PLAN FOR IF I HAVE TO PAY EXTRA FOR ABNORMAL RESULTS THAT COME BACK FROM THE TESTING I AM ALREADY PAYING FOR!!!!????!!! I understand I would need to pay for additional test if needed but not for initial test that come back abnormal!! So many other people have told me that Banfield hospital do unnecessary testing and is a rip off. Although I have questioned other charges over the past three years, this was the icing on the cake!!

EXCELLENT CARING VET!!! Dr. Ashley has been my vet for approximately 8 years now and I couldn't recommend a more competent caring professional. My pet had a condition that I didn't know about. I explained some of his odd symptoms and Dr. Ashley wouldn't stop until he gave us the correct diagnosis which saved my pet's life! That is worth it's weight in gold in my book. Now I have many more wonderful years ahead with my pet who is a part of my family that I wouldn't have had if it wasn't for Dr. Ashley. Dr. Ashley's staff seems to know and anticipate each and every one of my needs and desires before I walk through the door. All the while remaining professional and caring. I love the petsmart I go to. The banfield I hate. It started with our sick rat who didn't want to eat and was super skinny. They said she was fine. Then we bought a cute chinchilla who they said she was fine. She died a month later. All cages cleaned every other day. Fresh food and water. And now we have a cat who has worms. We aren't very wealthy so we are trying to ask around first. We brought the worms to the place. They told us they couldn't do or requmend anything without seeing the animal and getting a poop sample. (Together cost over $100) who knows what meds would cost! Can't even requmend anything, what a rip off

I am writing this review based on my first and only visit to Banfield in Eagan. I signed both of my dogs up for the comprehensive wellness plan (RIP OFF!). The best way I can describe how the Eagan Banfield works is like a car dealership. Basically they sell you on this wonderful plan that will ensure you pets health, blah, blah, blah. I understand that this plan in NOT pet insurance but a comprehensive plan (like a maintenance plan for your vehicle at the car dealership). However, when I returned to pick up my pets (after they were required to be there ALL DAY) I was confronted by Doctor Mueller and explained how both of the dogs needed dental cleanings, ear cleanings, and how one lab result from the blood work came back "slightly elevated" and I would need to spend $40 on vitamins and then pay another $50 for more blood work in a month. Just like the car dealership, yes the visit was covered but you should probably do a transmission flush, power steering flush, etc. etc. You WILL be upsold and guilted into paying for things you or your pets don't need. This was basically made out to not even be an option so I bought the vitamins and returned home to find nothing on my paperwork that described what Dr. Mueller explained to me in person. I called and received a long drawn out speech about why it was important (by the way, it was 120 and the normal range is 10-100...range = 90. ). I have since gone to another vet to confirm it was indeed bullcrap. I have canceled my optimum wellness plan and get to pay $280 for "services performed" that I havent paid for yet in my monthly payments (that means the initial visit was somewhere between $400-$450 for both!) Long story short, you will be made to think you need to spend copious amounts of money on things that aren't necessary. You will be made to feel like you are a bad pet parent even if your pet is in good health. And on top of all that money you are paying, you wont even get a full summary that you paid for. Dr. Mueller, especially, can't explain the difference between a paw and tail. STAY AWAY from this commercialized "franchise" and stick to the small town docs that are willing to help you if you're in a pinch or give you alternatives to expensive medicine. Take your animals to someone who actually cares

Avoid this place! I took my dogs, Om and Meaka, to Dr. Shari Sprague at the Banfield in Petsmart at 602 Boulton Street, Bel Air, MD 2014 on 4/2/2011. Om, my pug, was having problems with wax build up in his ear and scratching at it a lot. I asked Ms. Sprague to look at it and she said some dogs just have a lot of ear wax. I asked if it was weird that it was just in his left ear and his right ear was pristine and she said that was ok. She said to just clean them with Q-tips occasionally. I trusted her and I did what she said for months and thought it was just another unfortunate side effect of being a pug, like skin fold infections. He seemed to be in more pain than normal even after I cleaned his ear this past Friday, 10/28/11. I took him to another veterinarian and she looked at his ear and even though I had cleaned it she said it didn't look right. She took a sample and it turns out he has a bacteria and yeast infection and has had it since before I went to Ms. Sprague at Banfield. I hadn't cleaned his ears before Ms. Sprague saw him so I would think that she should have been able to see the problem easier than my new vet. All of my pet owning friends said I shouldn't have taken my dogs to Banfield because they had "The vets that weren't good enough to have their own place". I trusted the reputation of Petsmart and thought for sure a nation wide company would only have the best people. I was very wrong and thanks to my mistake my dog suffered for months. I will never go back to Banfield, and I will make sure that everyone that told me to avoid Banfield knows they were right. I will also make sure to tell everyone that owns a pet that they want to avoid Banfield at all costs, and especially the supposed "Dr." Shari Sprague.

I have never used Banfield before and I got a coupon in the mail from Petsmart for a free exam. It just so happened that our dog was limping and holding her foot up. After examining it at home, we couldn't see anything and decided to take our girl and use the exam coupon. It turned out to be a simple infection from an ant bite. Nothing earth shattering, but treatment was definitely required. Imagine our surprise when the bill came to a whopping $160. After she rung it up, we reminded her about the coupon and she said she "could not" take it off, and instead we could use the coupon in two weeks (which would be after it expired) when we returned for a follow up exam. After thinking about it I declined that "offer", demanding that the money be credited back for the full coupon value. I also said that I will not return for the two week follow up pointing out that I would use our usual vet instead. That's not the end of it either. Later, we get a call saying that they overcharged us for the medication for our girl's foot by another $30. This was an interesting turn of event. How would I have known this? I wouldn't have, had they not notified me. Either way, I don't trust them now and for this reason I won't return. Did they rectify the situation? Yes, as well they should have. Should the coupon situation have ever happened in the first place? Absolutely not. I find it unacceptable that they tell me they don't know how to credit it back, and instead tell me to "try again later." I also was a bit put off that they wanted to aspirate my dogs fat deposits. I have had two very different veterinarians say that they are fat deposits, and are nothing to worry about. Why then would Banfield want to do a biopsy? Is it for the money, or genuine concern for the dog? I don't know. I just can't shake the feeling that it was financial motivation. Use your own best judgement here. That's all I can say.

I went here because they offer wellness plans that fit into a budget. I had done this before in Pensacola and had a decent experience so I thought it would be similiar here in Mobile (on Airport). They are very unprofessional, especially the staff at the front desk. When I went to pick my cat up I kept learning more and more about a visit that had gone not as planned, instead of just being told everything up front. They were unable to do a simple IV, which I know could have been done because it was done 12 hours later at another vet with minimial problems even with the bruising caused by Banfield. Bottom line your pets health and overall wellbeing is worth paying a little bit more with a professional vet. I will never take my animals back to Banfield, not even for simple exams. If you care about your pet you wont either. There are very good vets that also offer plans like the wellness plan, do your homework I wish I had.

Absolute WORST vet we've ever been to. Please do not get suckered into their wellnes plan like we did. We pay every month for heart worm and flea medicine but when we went to pick it up they wouldn't give it to us because they couldn't figure out their computer system. One time during a visit with our dog (Rottweiler shepherd mix) they had my husband hold him while they took a fecal sample and my husband ended up with a chunk bit off his face. So unprofessional. Neither of the vets we saw any of our visits spoke English either. When our dog was sick with a stomach bug she had to have someone else come in to talk to us since we couldn't understand her. Their customer service is pretty lousy and it seems like they don't care when you're unhappy with being stuck paying $45 a month for a crappy plan and don't get anything for it.

Dr. Kathleen Smith from Scotland is an incompetent veterinarian! She charges naive pet owners unnecessarily to make her quota. In addition she is insecure in her field to the point she can't detect a heart murmur! Banfield hires unskilled labor to monitor pets under anesthesia and do dentals, I have reasons to believe, that is not legal. I know this because I am an RVT and ex-employee who blew the whistle on Dr. Smith.

This Banfield used to be ok and cheap. Now it is horrible. I would not go there anymore, in view of their new/higher fee systems and terrible customer service. My dog's SCHEDULED vaccination was switched by Banfield, because their doctors were overbooked for surgery (I heard this from their doctor and their technician). I was told to leave my dog there in early morning, but could not be guaranteed a pick-up time. "We will call you when he is ready". Note that our simple vaccination can be done in 1 min (I used to work with animals a lot at work). And I had to re-schedule my busy day around the unknown "We will call you". What upset me more is that they did not acknowledge the fact that they messed up / overbooked and did not want to give apology / specific explanation. The technician (who appears to be an new inexperienced one) at the counter said to me "I am not seeing the appointment, not sure what happened"...."are you sure this is the right Banfield?"......The technician also argued with me, refused to listen and kept interrupting me. "You gave me a tough time, Sir". Oh, yes ma'am, that is because you gave me a tough time first (and I am paying you for all that?). Please relax, as you will not see me again. You know, there is a good reason why all google reviews are 0 out of 3 so far.

My 13-year-old diabetic cat started failing quickly last Friday night. I called our vet on Saturday morning but was told they were completely booked and there was no one available who could euthanize my kitty (I go to a small vet so it was understandable). I watched him suffer through all of Saturday, into Sunday morning. I didn't want to take him to the emergency vet hospital for several reasons, the top two being the prohibitive cost and so many stories of rough handling and lack of empathy. I called Banfield at 8:30 Sunday morning & talked to Cheryl, who immediately went to work trying to work us into a packed schedule. Her voice was kind and empathetic and I could tell she understood what I was going through with my kitty. They got me in within an hour and treated my kitty and I like were the only patients there. They did do an exam, since they had never seen my cat before, and then explained the process of euthanization. When Dr. Gardner came to see us, she did explain that there were tests and treatments that were available if I wanted to go that route, but she understood my decision to not put him through any more pain or suffering but to just let him go peacefully. Everyone there handled my cat with the utmost gentleness and care and when all was said and done, Dr. Gardner teared up & I got a nice hug from Cheryl. Banfield's prices may be higher than other vets, but you do pay for the convenience of being open seven days a week and into evening hours. I will continue to take my pets to our own vet, but I know that in a pinch, the Banfield staff is there with gentle empathy and concern.

I have had the Wellness plan for two cats and a Doberman. Over 20 plus years worth of service. My pets receive 6 month checkups and all shot at no cost on the plan. Office visits are free and a discount on other services. They remind me every six months that it is time for the comprehesive exam. My cat lived to be 19 years old. My Doberman was 9 years old when our new landlord told us we could not keep her on his property (but that's another story) Doberman Rescue Alliance of WI took her to be adopted to a new family. They were amazed at how healthy and active she was. She is now in her new home and is 12 years old. My current cat just turned 15 years old and is very healthy. Banfield is a good place to bring your pets for care. The wellness plan has three levels and a monthly payment (NO deductable). When we got the pets we had the highest level for the first year, because they needed to be neutered or spayed. We were allowed to lower the coverage during the young healthy years and when a pet unexpectedly needed surgery the staff allowed us to increase our coverage to receive the increased discount. Banfield has not been perfect, a few times I was not happy, but they have done a great job keeping my pets healthy and to me that is what counts. Banfield has been good for my pets and I would recommend them to a friend.

Dr. Kara Carmody is the BEST. She is so sweet and patient with me even when I ask a dozen questions at each visit! She always takes time to explain things and answer all my questions in a way that makes sense. You can tell she (and the staff in general) really love and care about animals. Both of our dogs love her too! :)

I'm very disappointed with the quality here. The first banfield I went to was in california, and my dog had a great experience. Here, they didn't pay attention to my dogs comfort levels, and were increasingly frustrated with the insecure nature of my dog, pushing him, and giving him a near phobia of the vet. I will never go here again. It seams they only care about money here. Not to mention that the problems we went here for were not fixed.

I have been very happy with the service, yes it is very busy and I do have long wait times, I think its worth the wait for the care and attention that our 2 guinea pigs receive. I did not expect that our small pets would get so much attention and I felt alittle strange bringing them in for the 1st time, but now we have had several wellness, acute problem, surgery and even grooming visits over the last two years and I cannot say enough nice things about the staff and Dr. Xie . I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend this place, especially if you have a small/ exotic pet, Dr Xie is fabulous with these little ones:-)

I have two puppies. That pet wellness program is the best freaking thing ever. I'm SOOO glad I did that. While it's not exactly insurance it has saved me a ton of money. And I have called lots of times with questions and they were supergreat about helping me out.

Banfild is an okay place to take your pet IF YOU JUST NEED TAGS. I was working with a specific vet and he ended up leaving. So my 100 pound dog didn't like to get shots and this particulate vet was great with my dog. Handled him well. From then on I was dealing with female vets who couldn't handle my dog. I didn't appreciate them treating my dog like a mean dog for one. WELL, I took him in on several occasions because he wasn't eating right. I had a wellness plan for almost 2 years(RIP OFF!!!! I'll explain in a second). So I took my dog in (6years old) for not eating right. They said he was fine and his heart was fine, his stomach was fine and generally a good healthy dog. Well just a few months after my dogs last visit, He passed away suddenly. Turns out he had a tumor on his heart, and the pet hospital I took him to at 2am told me that not eating is a sign that he may have had a tumor... SO... I try to cancel my wellness plan a month after my dog passed. They want to charge me more money. They don't want me to cancel even though my dog is not longer with us. DON'T GO FOR THEIR WELLNESS PLAN! Just put your visits on credit and pay that way, UNLESS you have no doubt in your mind your pet will be fine. I will NEVER trust their judgement again on any pet I may get in the distant future. They miss things CLEARLY... so yeah... The only thing keeping this at a 2 is because they aren't horrible people. They are some what nice with the exception of them being afraid of my black lab who was afraid of shots.

Debbie is unbelievably amazing! She went above and beyond to help me and I am so thankful for that. I was running late after work and needed to get some flea medication for my dog, because I am leaving out of town for the next few days. I knew I wasn't going to make it by 7 so I called to get a recommendation on a brand I could by from petsmart.... Not only did she give me advice, when I finally arrived at Banfield around 7:15 she was still there and was more than willing to assist me. Even as small as that may be to some, I was so thankful she was still there to get me what I needed! DEBBIE YOU ROCK!!! Thank you!

I'm going to give it one star for several reasons: 1. This pet hospital is inside Petsmart. Had I known that I would have never brought my pet. Petsmart is a very bad company that sells "healthy" food for your pet. Its like a McDonalds salad. Seems healthy...but no. Bad choice if you love your animal. 2. My cat has fleas and the doctor prescribed Revolution. I don't know anything about that medication so I don't want to give it to my cat without proper research on the product. I told them I wanted to try diatomaceous earth first. The vet told me "oh, that won't work". Funny, its worked on every other cat I've had that has gotten fleas and it sold in natural pet stores as a safe alternative to chemical ridden flea medications. She was incredibly pushy and kept saying things like "ill see you in two weeks to get you Revolution". Hinting over and over that my tried and true remedy will not work. On that alone, I will never be going back. So there's that. 3. My cat has a bad toe. Got injured a year ago and just now started bleeding again. This is the main reason I went to the vet. The vet then told me she doesn't know what's wrong with her foot but prescribed antibiotics. If someone is just bleeding for no reason, you figure out why first. You don't just start prescribing antibiotics. I'm incredibly dissatisfied and will never be going back because of how we were treated by our vet ( Jacqueline Parker)

I tried taking my dog to other clinics but they would not see him because he is a "special" case. This clinic took time to get to know him and let him get used to them before ever greeting him. This is good because my pup has some aggression issues. They did everything in their power to make sure our visit was as stress free as possible and they do their best to keep the doctor/nurse he sees as consistent as possible, which in our case is the best thing for my furball. They are a great clinic and I will be returning to them again and again!

I am extremely frustrated with this location, specifically Dr. Huddleston. I adopted a kitty from the PetSmart location and in association with The Animal Foundation. We were extremely happy with the adoption associates but when our kitty started coughing, drooling, and sneezing we immediately took her to the Banfield Pet Hospital associated with Pet Smart. The tech stated that our kitty had a high temperature but when the doctor came in, he did the poorest examination I have ever seen and stated that there was nothing wrong with our cat. He then put a list of treatments and medications on the screen including a test for giardia and asked us what we wanted. It was almost as if he were asking us to order from a restaurant! I had to try and figure out which medical terms were antibiotics instead of him prescribing what she needed! Then he told us that they didn't have the needed medicine in stock and it would take a couple of days to arrive. He never acknowledged the fact that she had a temperature of 104.6!! He quickly pushed us out after we paid for two medications. Upon looking at the directions for the medicine, it stated it needed to be given with food and we had informed him that our kitty wasn't eating! Our poor baby got sicker and sicker so we took her in to another vet an hour or so later where immediately the doctor acknowledged how sick she truly was. She had no symptoms of giardia and was immediately admitted and desperately in need of IV fluids and IV antibiotics! Had I listened to that shmuck my kitty would have gotten infinitely sicker and possibly died. WORST VET EVER!!

DO NOT GO HERE Absolutely the most uncaring vet (Dr. Holbrook) and inconsiderate front staff (Nicole) I've ever encountered. I am in customer service management too - so I have a unique tolerance for idiots. The staff on 10/17/15 took the cake. I thought this "clinic/hospital" was owned and operated by PetSmart. It was evident during my visit that they're not! I'll never go back and alerting everyone to not go. I've reached out to their corporate headquarters in regards to this, as well. I will update this review once I've spoken to them.

DO NOT USE their memberships. We signed up for the puppy membership a year ago thinking it would help save us money. They charged us twice in the first month and it took many long phone calls and visits to the office to get it straightened out. We switched to another office in our area after feeling like the staff at the first office was completely incompetent. At the new office, we would wait easily an hour plus in the waiting room to see a vet for less than five minutes. I figured we would stick it out and switch to a different vet when the plan was up in a year. Well a few weeks ago they said we were scheduled for her last puppy check up. After sitting and waiting for quite some time, we were told they were giving her multiple shots some of which were not due for another month. Shots that we would not have given except we thought it was part of her puppy plan. On our way out we were told we owed nothing, so we thought everything was covered as her last visit on her puppy plan. A couple of weeks later a $25 charge showed up on our bank account. We called to find out why we were being charged and were told the puppy planned had rolled over into an adult plan WIHTOUT ANY NOTIFICATION and that it was written into the contract that they did not have to notify you. When we indicated we did not want the adult plan and wanted to cancel, we were told we would then owe the balance of our last visit which was somewhere around $300. Or we could stay on the adult plan for the next 10 months and pay $250 over the course of those months. Basically we are locked into staying on their plan for another year. Three phones calls later with no apology or attempt to fix their broken system. I went to Banfield for their convenient hours, but I will take vacation days to take my dogs somewhere else in the future after the experiences we have had there the past year.

What a joke! Who ever wrote that review about no surprise costs must have been paid to do it. Not only is this a new facility but all of the people working there must be as well (at least the front desk staff and the techs.) First, the tech almost game my cats a double dose of heart worm meds EVEN AFTER I told her the cats were already on heart worm. Luckily, a Vet just happened to be walking by, over heard me asking if I was reading the package correctly. The Vet had to reprimand her right there in the lobby saying, "You never, ever want to give an animal a double dose of heart worm. So we waited for an hour because she didn't know how to do a return, had to call corporate and get instructions, mess up those instructions and had to call BACK and wait on hold to get the instructions again. (She was later fired). Later, they cut their nails after we said please do not cut them. It also took 45 minutes trying to get their birthdates corrected in the systems because -surprise- they didn't know how to do that. On top of it, our quoted $450 for 2 cat teeth cleanings ended up being $600. We were also quoted $200-$300 for the dog teeth cleaning, and after the dog sat there all day long, we got a call at the end of the day and the new quote was $900!!! That was the last straw. All this after having the rip off Wellness Plan offered to us (wait for it) 19 times by the same 3 people. After years of being with Banfield we're done. I will say Leah R. was great at trying to help correct this issueI but for me it was an expensive price to pay for repeated unpleasant experiences. I advise you find someone else in the area, Capitol Hill is very pet friendly anyway and we've already found a better vet.

HORRIBLE I brought my dog in because she had an eye infection but they couldn't do anything for me... Sent me off to the heart vet... From there I finally got a name and number of a eye specialist.... Cost me a lot of money. I felt they were getting a kick back to send me to the heart specialist. I won't be coming back here. ...... And I was right a vet said she used to work there and that is Banfield model. Wow. Go to urban animal up the STREET.

About 2 months ago I discovered that my dog had a nasty ear infection. Of course like any good child, he got sick on a Sunday when my regular vet was closed. As a last resort I took him to the Banfield Pet Hospital located off of Cobb Parkway. The only decent part of the experience was the young lady working the front desk. The vet barely came into the exam room, took maybe 3 of looking at Beau before she diagnosed him as malnourished/underweight, having dental disease, and hip dysplasia. She simply told me, you will need to apply his cleanser and medication to his ears as indicated on the bottle. Never once did she offer to demonstrate proper application, etc. That ran me around $140 with a "required" follow up appointment (God only knows how expensive that would have been) to tell me your dogs ears are fine but you now have X, Y, and Z wrong. Needless to say, I did NOT follow up with them. Today I took Beau to see Dr. Kennedy at Webb Bridge Animal Hospital for his semiannual exam. He has a clean bill of health: good (lean) weight, excellent teeth, and ZERO mention or concern for hip dysplasia. To Banfield I say SHAME ON YOU! Your vet was totally unprofessional and if I dare say, attempting to prey upon a "panicked" dad. I came in because I had a sick child with a severe ear infection, and your vet has the nerve to state my pet's health was worse than it really was, quite likely hoping I would act and either buy services or attempt to subscribe to more than was required. Needless to say I will NEVER use your facility or any other location EVER again. I will also continually refer my friends, family, and class mates to ANYONE else other than your company.

this is the St. Francis of Pet hospitals. Their quality and service is on par with what I expect from human hospitals. Great staff, and a great Doctors. They are very knowledgeable and extremely motivated at finding what's wrong with your pet and fixing it. Brought a cat in because he was wasn't eating or drinking. He had a fever and Banfield put him on an IV for dehydration which perked him right back up. They wanted to find the cause of the fever so they ran every test from urine to blood to determine the infection so they can treat it and prevent it from happening again. They are a well supplied facility with operating table, and X-Ray. To top it off, they called the next day to ask how my pet was doing and if he was doing ok on the medication. I don't even get a follow-up call from my own doctor! yet my cat does :) Don't be too shocked if you end up paying $$$ for surgical or x-ray or major urine and blood analysis. For quality this good its worth every bit of it.

They botched up a routine spay procedure which killed my 8 month old puppy. She was dead by morning. Do your homework about spaying and neutering a pet it is not worth the risk especially when your pet is an indoor pet. More pets die from this procedure yet it is considered a routine simple procedure.. Your pets likelihood of getting cancer is only estimated of 1%. Loosing our baby was absolutely devastating especially when they die in your care. The worst part is we may have been able to save her life if we were educated on what to look out for. Banfield vet's said she will be out of it for 24 hours just make sure she was comfortable. While we thought she was grossly intoxicated from the anesthesia, she was actually bleeding to death. Absolutely horrible experience!

Everyone was courteous and polite, don't get me wrong. However, the only reason I brought my dog to Banfield was because he was a very difficult dog to handle at the vet and I was recommended to Dr Sara specifically by a very close friend who has had to use Dr Sara a lot for her farm animals. Leo and I went to see her twice. She was awesome. The third time we went, she was no longer employeed there. I should have called first. I should have left...I had a really funny feeling about allowing anyone else to handle my baby, but we were already there and I didn't want to drag him out again. He was in PERFECT health. We even had blood drawn as he was 8 years old. I'm a lab tech. I know his numbers were all good-I understand this stuff. But when I took Leo home that day after his appointment, he was never the same again. It was as though he never came completely out of his sedation. He never ate again. I took him to a different vet and we drew blood again. His liver was shutting down. Within a month of his appt at Banfield, he was dead. I don't know what these people did to him, but I hold them completely responsible for killing my dog and I would sue them for the emotional trauma they've caused my family if I could. I will never forgive them, and whomever is responsible I curse their head.

First off, the place was filthy, let my cat down while inside the office and when I picked her back up I noticed stains of feces on the floor and my cat was covered in dust, dirt, and I don't know what other white matter was all over her. This place is WAY overpriced and they try and charge you for things that you do NOT need! You are better off going with a car salesman! I told the vet tech I was thought the price was completely different, yet she still went on and called the vet to complete the check up (after we talked about how I was told the price was less than half of what they wanted o charge me! Staff was COMPLETELY RUDE AND SO UNPROFESSIONAL, definitely not worth it! DO NOT GO HERE! Always courteous and very helpful they make taking your babies in for shots or just check ups a lot easier to deal with. The vets are excellent and make you feel at ease with the care of your pet. We have had our dogs enrolled in their wellness program for years and I believe our pets are healthier because of it. I have a German Shepherd puppy. When we first had her she had worms and was dehydrated and wouldn't drink water. They gave her a water pack and got us set up on all medications she needed, insurance to make our visits easier and shots. We also had her spayed there. We requested that we see a specific vet every time and they did that for us too. They make everything easier and they did an excellent job on her spay. The only thing I don't like is paying every month but then it is nice knowing your heartworm and flea medicine is coming to you on time every month. I adore this hospital. Everyone that works there is kind and helpful. They really care about the pets and know what they're doing. The vet that owns the hospital is one of the most generous people you will ever meet. Even when they're incredible busy (as good vet offices tend to be) you can tell they prioritize by what needs come first. When a phone rings, it could be a an owner calling about their pet that has been hit by a car and needs to know the hospital location, rather than someone just trying to check out and go home. Highly recommend this vet!!

This place is very expensive. I wanted revolution for flea, tick, heartworm, and it treats even more than just that. Well they tried super hard to sell me this shot for my dog that prevents heartworms for like 60 bucks. I said no like 5 or 6 times and they kept coming on hard core making me feel like if I said no that I was a bad pet owner. They also tried to sell me this program on a contract that pays for vet and office visits along with some shots. Total scam and included things that are not needed at all. Only gave 1 stars because I truly feel they care about animals but in the end they are just sales men and women.

They killed my elderly dog they did not properly administer the correct dosage of insulin, even though he had 2 screenings with them to check his insulin levels. She told me to keep him under 5 because his levels were at 300. Upon getting his medical records transferred the new vet told me his levels were way OVER 300 and he needed a higher dosage. I had to put him down 2 months later due to painful eye infections from not having enough insulin and developing liver disease. They continued to charge me for medicines that he could have been ok with the correct amount of insulin. Will never go back. The vet lied to me about my dogs test results and didnt seem to have his best interest. I have to rate one star to post otherwise they wouldnt even get one!

Absolute worst animal hospital!! I brought my dog in there for allergies (licking paws, scratching), and ended being treated like I was at a used car dealership. I saw Dr. Berday who after making me wait 30 minutes in an exam room to see my pet, went into the room took one look at my pet, asked the exact same questions that her vet assistant asked me and then walked out and said that she would be back with an estimate...The doctor instead sent her INCOMPETENT vet assistant back in the room with an estimate for over $600.00. I began asking the vet assistant questions about all the testing that they were asking me to perform. One question I asked her was "why does my dog need a differential exam of blood cells done?" her response to me was..... (Its so the doctor can "like" smear the blood and stuff and see if she can find any sickness in the blood")........ I soooo badly wanted to tell that STUPID vet assistant that she was talking to an EDUCATED registered nurse who knows that her, and the doctor were lying, dumb, and most importantly money hungry. I instead told her no thank you, and that I would be going elsewhere.... as I walked to the front desk the same girl had the nerve to ask me if I was going on a "wellness plan" or not?....... I went down the street to sunset eastern animal hospital, and I spoke to an EDUCATED licensed technician, and an EDUCATED vet, that were very honest, and professional and sent my pet home with hydroxyzine... which worked wonderfully!!.... I HOPE THAT BANFIELD GETS SHUTDOWN, for all their dirty business practices = )

PLEASE NEVER TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I could give this negative stars I absolutely would. Worst experience ever! The vet we saw Dr. Lindquist was hands down the most unprofessional veterinarian either myself or my boyfriend (who grew up on a farm and said that even after one of their steers kicked the vet in the leg he was more professional than this woman) has ever worked with. She was less than interested in participating in a dialog to help us come to a diagnosis for our cat she only seemed interested in running seemingly useless tests and selling us on a wellness plan meanwhile deflecting our questions. When she sensed what we were unhappy with how the interaction was going she asked us about it. When we tried to express the issues that had lead to our dissatisfaction she cut me off and replied wow and tried to pass us off onto another vet. The vet tech who was with us in the room at the time of her outburst was horrified by her behavior and did her best to help us and to answer our questions. She was the picture of professionalism and seemed like a kind, competent, and intelligent individual and I only hope that one day she leaves Banfield to work for a place that's values are more commiserate with her own. This was our first visit and it will be our last. They could charge half the cost of going someplace else and I wouldn't take my cat back here. I left feeling sick to my stomach. I couldn't pay them the $300 for a blood test and exam fast enough before running out of their with my very stressed out cat! My advice? Get your animals medical records and run! Run as fast as you can!

The one in Saint Louis Park mn is great they always ask us our needs and what they can do to help us. We came in for a second opinion after we had some issues with a place we started taking our dog do to it being closers to home. They answered all of our questions and helped us with our needs. Forgive me I don't know the vet tec name forgot but I'm sure going to find out. they don't up sale at least not to me and show me what I would be paying before hand. At our last visit one of the tec even got down and played with our dog and didn't even charge us for a office visit. Like one place in bp does every time you go there they are trying to sale you something extra and is way more expensive then Banfield as well. Banfield also keep my records for a long time so when I called they knew exactly what I was talking about.and how to help not just guess. Our animals deserve top quality care and I will never take them to a place that doesn't i am very hand on and ask alot of questions when it comes to a life always do resarch. will he comes here yes if we find a even better place he might go there but for now he's fine at Banfield and he won't be going back to the other place out of convenience. I rather take him here.

Nothing but great experiences! We love that they are open on weekends and have always been able to get our dogs in on short notice if they are sick. The doctors, techs, and assistants are all great. I had one vet push to have some teeth removed from one dog, but after doing so, I think it was the correct action as my dog wasn't eating well and has since improved, probably because her teeth no longer hurt. Aside from that, no undue pressure. Yes, the wellness program has stipulations for cancelling, but they are not hidden in the agreement. Any sort of contract such as this will come with that.

I would give this 0 stars if possible, but Google won't let me. I had a horrible experience here, DO NOT bring your pets here! To make a long story short, they told us what our dog had was not curable and he needed to be euthanized, so the appointment was made. I started doing some more research and it turns out they missed a huge piece of the puzzle. My dog had diarrhea, I brought in a stool sample and demanded it be tested for parasites, even having to argue with the lady about it. Turns out, he had Hookworms, causing something called Protein Losing Enteropathy. Get rid of the parasite, get rid of the PLE. A simple stool sample was all that was needed, and I as the consumer should not have been the one to tell them that. THEY WILL KILL YOU PETS, DO NOT BRING THEM HERE!

I started taking my dog (and later, other dogs) when they were pups. I got involved with the wellness plan and liked it fine while they were under one year old. Since the 4 years we have be bringing our dogs to this animal clinic they have changed staff so many times. They use to seem like they knew us but now they forget whenever I drop my dogs off what needs to be done! All three of my dogs are allergic and must be given an allergy shot before their medications. They started on one of my dogs before they realized that she need an allergy shot. This could have killed her! They did not call to tell us what happened or to tell us that they woiuldn't be able to finish with the other 2 dogs. They did not look at our dogs extensive chart or follow directions! And now I can't get out of the wellness plan because it is a year contract.

My friend took my dog here when she was watching him and he was hurt. It turns out he broke his leg but the splinted it poorly. It came off in 24 hours without him working on it. She called back to ask about it and they said they would charge her again to put it back on. Very very disappointed.

The worst experience ever today! Complete disregard for my puppies wellbeing! He was in for a dental cleaning that required anesthesia and while they were supposed to be monitoring him after he woke up he must have had a bowel movement, and they left him in it and didn't even attempt to clean him up. When they brought my portion baby back to me he had poop matted in his hair and his face was covered in white stuff from the dental cleaning. This was a freshly groomed dog who hasn't had an accident inside of anywhere since he was 8 weeks old! So much for actually monitoring my dog for any adverse reactions to the anesthesia they couldn't even be bothered to see he had pooped! The pads of his paws were covered as well. They girl came out and said he just had an accident... I'm calling BS! If it just happened and you just tried to clean him up why is it already dried to his fur and pads of his paws!? This is total neglect and mistreatment! Absolutely horrible! This place should be shut down for treating animals as if they are part of an assembly line! We will Not be going back and will continue to tell others not to bring their animals to this Banfield location.

Took in a puppy that had just been nipped in the nose by a larger dog. The receptionist ignored me for several minutes (didn't even acknowledge my presence). Finally a tech came out of the back room and asked how she could help. I explained what had happened, and after apologizing for the incident, asked IF I HAD AN APPOINTMENT. I told her no, the incident had NOT been planned; after apologizing again, went on to explain they don't accept walk-ins. The puppy was bleeding and in obvious distress! I will never, EVER step foot in there again, even if they are the closest animal facility to home.

Agree with Jesse. Horrible vet. Waited 30 minutes past appointment time today. In addition to long wait times and scheduling issues, this office cycles through new veterinarians often. New vet each visit so far. Do you and your pet a favor and look elsewhere.

Worst vet I've ever used. Despite appointments, I've always been seen 15 minutes late. On two occasions I've received voicemails telling me that my appointment's been cancelled because the vet decided to change his/her schedule to leave earlier. Also went in for booster lepto virus shot two weeks after first and charged me for a $50 office visit for a $20 booster shot. Took less than 5 minutes. Avoid this place if you can. All about the $$$. Not you or your pet.

If you think it's expensive to take your animal to a normal vet you're heart is going to stop when they give you your bill here. I took in a 1 month old kitten my friend found in a bush by her work. He was badly injured his tail was bent crooked at the end with large lacerations at the bottom and he could hardly walk. Well we got him late at night, picked fleas off him for hours and the next morning was Sunday so we went ahead and took him to pets mart since they were the only vet open. Turned out his tail needed to be amputated and he had an infection in his leg. We wouldn't let them do his surgery or vaccines but he needed the medicine right then and there so we got his medicine and our bill was 80$ but our bill with all they wanted to do was 800$ for the surgery and vaccines!!! They aren't that good. There are plenty of caring vets who will do it for a reasonable price his surgery ended up being 140$ with vaccines.

I just wanted to express my appreciation to the staff at Banfield Pet Hospital. Our 5 year old cat died suddenly yesterday from a blood clot. I tried reviving her at home but to no avail. My wife and I brought her in to Banfield Pet Hospital in tears, and the doctor examined Zoe right away to determine the cause of death and took the time to explain to us what happened. The staff was so nice and caring, and really showed a lot of respect and care for us and Zoe. For any future pet needs, I will be coming to this hospital. Thanks again!

I have been going to Banfield for 3 years now and love Dr. Vaitkus. He is knowledgeable, personable, and you can tell his true love of animals. With that said I recently had an experience that has prompted me to leave Banfield to find another vet. We pay monthly for both of our dogs to be on the wellness plan. Over the weekend my dog Nugget had some issues concerning his back and I was worried that he may be injured (not seriously because he was walking, eating, drinking, but he just didn't seem to be himself.) I called the Ordnance Rd Banfield asking if they could possibly fit him in over the weekend at some point. They told me no that they were booked solid for 3 weeks out and that there was no way he could be seen. When asked if I could walk in and wait without an appointment they told me that wasn't possibility and to go to an emergency vet if I was concerned. I found this to be a completely unacceptable response because first of all why would I pay for the wellness plan every month if I can't even use it and then to tell me to go spend more money at another vet because you can't fit me in, what is the point of having a vet if you can't go when your pet is in need. I don't know what changed or if they no longer leave empty appointment slots for pets in need because they are too money hungry or if the new system is just flawed. I will be taking my business elsewhere and I would not recommend this vet to anyone unless you want your pet to be in pain or sick while you wait for an appointment.

I have two of my cats on their wellness plans. I save a TON of money by doing this. My sister is about to join her sphynx cat up as well. This way, everytime you hvae to go to the vet, you dont pay a fee for an office visit or anything, you strictly pay for the medication IF you animal even needs them. All shots are included, as well as a spay or neuter. Only costs me 20 bucks a month for one cat and 15 for the other! GREAT DEAL. The doctors also know their stuff and are extremely helpful with small pets, reptiles and cats and dogs. I really truly recommend Banfield...they know what they are doing.

The company sucks. Their vets are usually good, but because the comoanybsucks so badz they can't keep the good vets. It's a good place to go if you know what's wrong and just need antibiotics of dewormers or something simple, but do not go there for a regular vet.

They took such great care of my puppy and showed so much kindness in dealing with her and my son. They were wonderful. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a vet. :).

Stay Away! They will do everything they can to get you to pay for a wellness plan. They will state free unlimited vet visits. Just pray your pet never gets sick because they will claim for weeks they have no available appointments for your animal. Then they will send you to a vet emergency room and it will cost you a lot of money. Just think 30/mo is 360 for the year and that covers the same stuff that most other vets will charge 50 for visit. They will also state your medicine is discounted drastically where a discount on marked up medicine is no cheaper then any where else. They also did not give my pet a rabies shot stating his was still good from his puppy time. When I switched back to my original vet I had to pay triple for his missed rabies shot. Also I had him neutered there for a grand total of 550 once all said an done. Also when they neutered him they over medicated him with antibiotics which is probably the main reason my pet got a serious ear infection. Understaffed overpriced and a fake smile knowing they are about to rob you when you sign the contract they can break but you cannot cancel.

This was my third bad experience at Banfield. I had heard good things from friends so unfortunately bought a wellness plan and am locked in for a year, or I would have stopped going a long time ago. First, I said the first time I was there I would like to keep seeing the same doctor, yet everytime I go I see someone different. The third time I went it was a vet who had just started one week ago and it was her first job. She was shaking during the shot she was giving my puppy and almost put it in the wrong area. Next, my boyfriend paid in cash for the wellness plan two months in a row before it was due, yet they still charged my credit card for those two times and would not refund me any of my money, $100 down the drain for a service I hadn't been happy with. I tried to get out of the wellness plan then but they wanted me to pay for the $1000 plus services (which wouldn't have been nearly as expensive at another vet office). Then, I had an emergency with my pet and called at 3:30 pm and she told me to come right in. I waited until 6pm to be seen while my pet was sick in the waiting room. They said they had to see every person with an appt before me as their policy. I wore in a medical office, so I understand working people in, but why would you tell me to come in and have my sick puppy wait for over two hours in the waiting room when he could have been much more comfortable at home? Needless to say, I will NOT be renewing my wellness plan after it is over.

Multiple times I was made to wait at least an hour for my appointment, up to 2.5 hours on one occasion (needed medications for my dog and couldn't just leave and come back another day). The last time I went, I was 10 minutes late and they told me my appointment time was up and the vet has left. They also did a poor job treating my puppy's skin infection. Never going back - got much faster, more respectful, and more medically appropriate treatment at Charm City Vet.

Arundel Mills Banfield....did a procedure on my cat that was supposed to be on my dog, and the manager never called me and avoided me...they work like an assembly line, are very impersonal, there are always extra charges not included in your wellness plan and they give you chargeable items you don't need. Please stick to a good local pet hospital. The other Banfield area clinics run like an assembly line also. If you love your babies don't use Banfield! Please don't !!!

I am extremely dissatisfied with Banfield's policies. At first, I thought, "what a great plan!" Pay monthly for my pet to receive 2 check-ups per year. I thought this was great rather than drop $350-400 at once for my dog's annual exam. But, whenever there is an emergency, they can never see her. They have their entire day scheduled and booked and leave no room for emergencies. As people, our doctors schedule patients as well, but if an emergency comes up, they have you come in anyway and find room for you to be seen. I have also taken their advice and walked in, but ended up waiting for over 1.5 hours and had to leave for another appointment on my calendar. How can it be that they offer preventative care but not emergency care. I will not be renewing this plan and will find another Vet in my area. I am extremely disappointed and worried about my dog and because they are not available to help her, I have to take my dog to the Pet ER where they are great.

I'm leaving the text to my original review below, but need to update it as the response from the office was so wonderful it is definitely deserving up an update. I was very impressed with the follow-up to my review. Banfield corporate messaged me that I'd be contacted by the Little Rock Banfield office. I did not expect it to be within a few hours of receiving that message! The office manager not only agreed with my issues, but told me how they were addressing the problem so that it won't happen again. She relayed condolences from my vet, and gave me messages from both him and the tech who'd seen another of my cats, Spike, just a few weeks ago. (His prognosis is not good although he's rallied for now.) Any office of any sorts is going to have "slips" in service. How they respond to customers caught in such situations speaks volumes - and Banfield has done a fantastic job of addressing this in my case. Caring for our animal companions is not an easy job especially when a loss is suffered, and can be a very busy one. I applaud Banfield on a corporate and local level for taking the time to contact me. *****Original review follows: First I want to stress I think Dr. Bridges is wonderful. At this point, I don't plan to change vets. However, I do want to review a specific situation which did not involve him directly. Not sure exactly what happened, but I'm still going "huh?" in my grief. I am an eight year customer of this Pet Hospital. Although I still absolutely love the vet and will probably continue using them, I just called to cancel an appointment I had today for one of my cats as the cat died at the emergency vet this weekend. The response was "Is that all?" No "I'm sorry." No "What happened so we can update and close her records." No "What is your phone number so we can call you back. We need to update her records but we're swamped at the moment." No signs of sympathy whatsoever. I made the appointment for today because they could not fit my kitty in on a Saturday. (In fact, they were supposed to call me back and let me know whether they could fit her in or not, and never did.) I understand that completely and they did recommend taking her to the emergency vet if she worsened which I did. The outcome would honestly have still been they same. But I expect any vet's office to show sympathy and sorry. I doubt I even get the traditional sympathy card from them. They didn't even ask who I was. I also understand busy but how long does it take to say "We are so sorry for your loss?"

These shots are very important to get twice a week, when I made the appointment they said they would have it. It even said in her records; the vet tech read it right in front of me and she said she didn't know why they even made the appointment. This isn't going to be a blind, rage-filled rant... just a statement of fact: My husband and I have been bringing our three cats to Banfield Secaucus for almost 8 years now but, unfortunately, after today's experience, will not be returning. We have seen this place go through a lot of "phases" over the years and experienced a range of customer service quality from excellent to "oh boy..." There was always an underlying feeling that my pets were going to be taken care of, however. Based on today, I'm not sure that's the case any longer. After waiting over an hour to be seen, (for a pre-scheduled appointment) my cat and I were rushed in and out in under 10 minutes. The physician on duty looked terribly overworked, stressed and- I am convinced- would not have even known my pet's name if he hadn't had a nurse by his side to read the chart. I had to tell him her age and critical health info, (this wasn't a new intake, mind you, but a patient of *8 years*). I want to stress that the doctor did not seem UNCARING, just... unable to retain much of anything after seeing an assembly line of animals for the past 3 hours. I don't blame him. I'd be extremely punch drunk by that point as well. One receptionist at the desk was as friendly as possible, given the stream of complaints I could almost guarantee she'd been facing. The other receptionist offered us a bottle of water, but when I asked how much longer (our wait was up to 45 minutes by that point) I was essentially told she had no idea. The level to which they seemed to be understaffed was painfully clear at that point. I sincerely hope someone in charge evaluates staffing and customer experience soon and makes some major changes. I don't lightly leave any place with which I have a longstanding relationship, but at this point, my four-footed family's health has to take priority.

We were waiting in the line for 15 minutes today to check in. When it got to us, the receptionist (E lady) told us that our appointment needed to be rescheduled because we were 15 minutes late than the appointment. I told her that we were waiting in the line for 15 minutes, but she just said to me in the meanest tone: "no you have not been here for 15 minutes." as if I was lying. Of course, I didn't reschedule with them, because there are so many other nicer and friendly places in the area.

She forgot to mention she was signing up me up for another year. She also didn't verify a credit card and tried to charge my mom's account. Now they are saying I owe them for the wellness plan I didn't sign up for or want again. They could not show me a document I signed to renew the plan. We have transplanted with 2 Mastiffs and 2 Main Coon cats. Ultimately, we are the ones responsible for our families health. Banfield's policy is to offer all the options when emergency care is needed. We are the ones that know our companions the best, and must speak for them The care we receive here is better, and certainly cheaper then the clinic I have (not Banfield) across the road. The health plan has saved us a lot of money for regular maintenance products, and the thorough exams are primarily preventative. The only issue I have is remembering to order joint or internal meds at least one week before I run out. The clinic lets me decide when I need to order, it's not automatic.

Read Whitney's review below. I had a similar experience. Their services do seem over-dramatic, which costs you more, and I feel they take advantage of you since it is your beloved pet. They're inside of a Retail Store!! They're supposed to make money!! I've had several experiences with them, and I always walk away thinking I've paid more than I should. Here's the point of my review. I had two cat's exposed to the same amount of K9 Advantix, which can be lethal. I took one to Banfield. I had an initial treatment plan of $85-111. The final bill 4 hours later, which included $60 worth of "hospitalization" charges and a $115 blood work test thet I didn't pre-approve was ......... $292.56! My initial treatment plan had tripled! I was told my cat would receive a "chemical bath" to wash off the toxins. I paid $30 for the "chemical bath" only to find out later it was Dawn Liquid Detergent. Moving on.....the second cat I took to a local vet. They kept him for 8 hours, pumped him with fluids to drain the toxins, said the $50 worth of medicine Banfield prescribed was unnecessary, and sent me home with a bill of $40.50. After complaining to Banfield, they agreed (after threatening litigation) to refund me the Blood work test of $115 I never consented to. I believe Banfield has good intentions, but I also believe their bottom line is more important than your pet.

I seldom revise a review. In fact, I seldom WRITE reviews but in this case it seemed warranted. I recently dealt at length with the vet I saw previously at the Smyrna, TN, facility, and it was much more pleasant. All visits and phone calls were informative and courteous. They made sure I was clear on everything and went over lab work and pathology reports at length. Everyone has an off day and I may have been too quick to judge when I posted below. Much thanks to the staff for putting their hearts into everything they do at this branch. **************************************************** I've had great interactions with the weekend vets and staff but recently I had an emergency that required us to take one of our pups in late on a weekday. I'm comfortable with the weekend staff and our communication is very clear. In contrast, on the midweek visit I didn't feel that my concerns were really given much weight and their interaction with my dog was actually a little hurtful. Admittedly, he's old, he's bald, he's got seborrhea and he does get testy when you stick a thermometer up his keister but he has a permanent piece of my heart and I am truly worried about his well being. Long story short, I'll limit my visits to weekends whenever possible and assume if I have to come in during the week it won't be as warm and fuzzy but they'll get the job done. I still think this is the best place to go for pet care in Smyrna. They get you you in on time and are up front with pricing.

My husband and I are really happy with the service we receive at Banfield. We take our 2 dogs and 3 cats there. We don't wait too long to see a doctor when we arrive, and the majority of the staff is very personable and great with our pets (especially the vet techs and front desk folks). The price for an office visit is less than surrounding vet's offices, and definitely less than our old vet in Nashville. The only qualm I really have is we don't always see the same doctor, so in the case of our cat with a chronic condition, we sometimes have to catch the other doctor up on what's going on. Otherwise, the experience has been great. TIP: if you have a pet needing a dental cleaning, buy the wellness plan for that year - it will be cheaper than paying for the cleaning outright. We don't buy the wellness plans otherwise.

My dog had been acting lethargic and like she was in pain; last year she had a malignant mast cell tumor removed from her leg, with our vet in Chicago warning us to keep an eye on her as the tumors would likely return. After I found several lumps and my dog had several accidents in the house, I called Banfield and made an appointment. They got me in that day and I had to bring my dog and three small children (and double stroller) to the clinic. After waiting an hour and 45 minutes with no explanation, I poked my head out and shouted over my bored, screaming children (I'd brought an hours' worth of snacks and entertainment) "When can we expect to see a nurse? Or anything?" They told me it would be another hour. I said that was not okay, that we'd have to come back. Suddenly we got the doctor in our 6x6 foot room. After arguing with me about the symptoms I'd observed (apparently dogs will TELL you when they're hurting, I apparently must have deleted that text) he glanced over her, squeezed two of the lumps and declared she had age-related cysts and suggested a $35 shampoo. Then he said that she was completely lethargic because she was, and I quote, "A little chubby." I asked him about the mast cell tumors and he informed me that the only option was exploratory surgery and x-rays. As my dog IS old, I told him that we didn't want her to go through a surgery if we can avoid it and he responded, "Well, if we sedate her for x-rays and teeth cleaning, what's surgery going to add? It's not a big deal." Surgery is not a big deal. No blood work, no further exam, he didn't even have them take her temperature. I left with a $20 bag of THREE pounds of food, $35 shampoo and a $45 exam bill. So cysts and she's chubby and I know nothing about cancer. Gave her the food, nothing changed, she got worse. So I called Park Animal Hospital and took her in yesterday. After listening to me, giving my dog a thorough examination and blood work, we learned she has cancer and a UTI. So, I'm hoping the magic shampoo will make my dogs' cancer go away. Thanks Banfield. It's taking everything I have to not come back and demand you refund my money. Take your dog here if you'd like them to die a slow and painful death and the hands of uncaring, incompetent imbeciles who have no business practicing medicine on rocks, let alone animals.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I've found the Dr.s here to be more focused on selling you tests than treating your pet. The vet's are on commission - so the more unnecessary tests they run the more they make. How is that ethical? We're talking about healthcare, not selling cars of jewelry. The vet also mis-diagnosed my pet which led to her being euthanized (after $1600 in tests and treatment of course). How they could possibly miss lymphoma when every lymphnode in her body was the size of an apple blows me away. I even pointed out that swollen lymph nodes when I brought her in. Please note that the Banfield Wellness Plan IS NOT INSURANCE and is a horrible value. It saves you next to nothing if your dog is actually sick. They never call it insurance, but they way it's marketed implies it's a type of insurance plan.

All bad reviews I have read so far I disagree with or the person writing them is very overwhelmed with emotions that one experiences when dealing with the loss of loved ones or difficult decisions with illness. I think the staff at Stephanie St. Banfield and Silverado Ranch are wonderful, thorough and never once pushed anything for the purpose of making more money. Dr. Johnston is great along with all the others I have experienced. We have been taking our dogs here for 5 years now and not once have we had a bad experience. I am currently studying to be a veterinary assistant and I am a huge animal lover as well as volunteer at shelters and rescues. I would not continue to take my animals to a place that didn't give them the best care possible. Thank you to everyone at these facilities for genuinely caring for my creatures as if they were your own!

I use to work at this location and others around town. I quit eventually after witnessing abuse from a doctor at this particular location. On that day my co worker gave her notice upon witnessing this act. I tried to report the abuse to my director of petnurses, office manager, head doctor and corporate office. I was then told by my manager that if i had a problem with the doctor in question that i would have to bring it up with her. Obviously this is what i did not want to hear so i walked out that day. Banfield says they will "treat your pet like family", than why do they allow DOCTORS to abuse your pets? For those of you who have witnessed high estimates, Banfield has the approach of hiring doctors in at around 96K per year, after that they put them on production. This means that after the first year the doctors at Banfield only make a percent of what goods and services they sell. This means they will request all kinds of tests, meds and procedures to boost up your bill.

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would in a heart beat. I am completely LIVID with Dr. Grimmett (not sure if that's how you spell it) and will NEVER, EVER, EVER take any of my animals to Banfield again - I can't trust them!!! My mom passed away in December of 2014, so my aunt and I "share custody" of her dog. He lives with my aunt full time because he does not get along with my cats. Anyways, she took him to an appointment recently because she said he was wheezing a lot and she wanted to make sure he is okay. It turns out he had pneumonia, and on top of that his kidney enzymes were a bit high. So, we changed his diet and they gave him an injection for his pneumonia. Within THE SAME HOUR that they gave him the injection, Dr. Grimmett came in to tell my aunt and my little cousins that my aunt should consider euthanasia because he is sick and we (my aunt and I) both can't afford to keep him in the hospital overnight. She didn't even wait for the injection to work or exhaust all of her options - right off the bat she INSISTED, not just suggested, on euthanasia, almost guilt tripping our family into making that decision because "we couldn't afford the overnight stay"... I was so upset. We all were. Our family just lost my mom barely over a year ago, and now we have to consider euthanasia for her dog??? I’d understand if he was really sick, couldn’t play, couldn’t eat, etc. All the typical signs that it’s their time… but he had never been deathly sick in his life, he was always very healthy. We take excellent care of our pets, and it was as if she was suggesting otherwise... It just didn’t sit right with my family, we didn't trust her “professional” opinion, and even when I spoke to her over the phone, she was ALL business; no compassion like you'd expect a vet to be. So needless to say, we got a second opinion a week later. The other vet was FLOORED that she would even SUGGEST euthanasia when he was not even remotely deathly sick. We had an x-ray done and guess what... HIS LUNGS WERE CLEAR AFTER 7 DAYS OF THE INJECTION!!!!!!!! All of his vitals and everything WERE FINE!!! This makes me wonder… how many animals has she killed prematurely because she was too damn lazy to exhaust all options before suggesting such a dramatic option??? How many owners has she told that to??? We are putting all of our trust into these people, only for them to try and kill one of our animals. I AM PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Banfield is full of CRAP. You guys just wanted to drain us of any money we have to "make sure he gets healthier" when none of it was necessary except for what we did at the initial appointment (the injection). If anything else was necessary, that should have been discussed after the injection, and that’s only if it didn’t work, which isn’t the case. I am making a formal complaint against the veterinarian and will pursue legal action if this is not handled. I will also make a complaint to the American Association of Veterinary State Boards. Banfield only cares about our money, not our animals, and that is very obvious with the way Dr. Grimmett handled this situation. I don’t want ANY other animals and their owners to have to see this AWFUL “veterinarian” and deal with anything like this!!! Stay clear if you want your animals to live because god forbid they get sick, she might try to put them down!!! Banfield lost a few customers for life, and I will be spreading the word.

They did one of two things that messed up. They either gave our dog a rabies vaccine unnecessarily a year after she got a three year vaccine somewhere else or they messed up the records. I suspect they messed up the records, though I'm not sure. (People who work there constantly get the wrong people's accounts up by accident.) We were called about getting her being vaccinated, but when we got there, we were told she already had her vaccine, only a year, according to the records, after she got a three year rabies vaccine at Face. I went to Face again so our dog could be vaccinated from rabies. I showed the lady at Banfield the updated records. The lady was very snooty. She said, "Why do you have a wellness plan here despite going to Face" I saw her write the wrong month in when she wrote the new vaccination record in from Face. She was snooty again. She got impatient with me for correcting her. She said the rabies vaccine on record was at their clinic, but someone else who worked there said earlier that the records were about another place. What a contradiction. They sent our account to a collection agency because we haven't been paying them. The credit card number was changed. I didn't know we had to cancel officially. We got no warning. I thought if it wasn't being paid they just canceled our membership. We need to officially cancel.

Puppy plan to adult plan without a notice. Our dog was in heat all 3 times we tried during puppy plan and finally got her fixed today. That cost us $350...its not covered anymore because as of July she isn't a puppy. If we cancel our plan we owe $650 so we are stuck with it. This is one of many places I will be giving Banfield a bad review as well as making sure anyone at my work, kids school, or friends do not sign up for the "great deal" . They ended up scamming us and refuse to do anything about it!

Never have to wait long and i feel like they truly care about our dog..they have great care plans that are affordable as well! I only gave it four stars because of the front desk lady named Kim..she is super rude, loud, speaks very fast and trys to make you feel stupid. She also yelled at my daughter for trying to get a sucker after i told my daughter she could have one..ill do the parenting thank u..however that is not a good enough reason for us to leave..ill deal with her because we love the doctors and the care and time we get!!

Grooming my dog was way too long. Then when groomer brought him to the counter she walked him through piles of hair. Almost 3hr + to groom a 23 lb dog. No potty break during that long period. So when checking out the groomer stated you may want to let him poop he has lots of gas. Walking through the checkout he could not hold his urine any longer. Not realizing he was peeing a checker said he is peeing as I pulled him along without looking back he had a path of about 6ft of urine. Totally embarrassing. Correction is needed. I will ask for a different groomer next time.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BANFIELD!! Dr. Foster, Kim, Sheryl and Sunny were great..I'm sure the others are great too but these were the ones that worked with my dog! I've taken my dog to 3 different Banfield's but this office went above and beyond. This is a long review but I have to tell the story..sorry! I had and issue with my dog (throwing up and diarrhea) around 6:30 at night and I called 2 other Banfield's in tears and they acted like they didn't care and didn't offer to see me cause they closed at 7. I called the Banfield in Rancho Cordova and spoke with Kim..she talked to me about what was happening and helped calm my "worried" self down. Once I felt better we hung up. Then she called me back the next day just to make sure I was ok. Kim actually took a picture of my dog when he was in recovery after having his teeth cleaned! #aboveandbeyond I love Dr. Foster. Bubba and I will always follow her.. (which is why I drive to Rancho Cordova from Roseville)..she gets on my dogs level and also helps us worried mommas and dogs. She doesn't try and "sell" you services you don't need..she does what's best for your animal not what the "Corporation" feels is best. She loves the the animals and they love her! She takes her time with you and goes over everything! Thank you Dr. Foster and the rest of the Rancho Banfield staff for being so amazing! Oh and Sheryl, Bubba's teeth look awesome!

Banfield Pet Hospital: They are nice to your pet and courteous to your face but just try and cancel your " Wellness Plan, OMFG!!! First off, you can't cancel at the facility. You can't cancel online. You have to somehow get the "secret telephone number" and once you get the number they put you on hold for about 10 minutes; When I finally got hold of a "live" person she DEMANDED I provide a reason for cancelling my plan; which, by the way AUTO-RENEWS EVERY YEAR" unless you cancel the plan on the phone. I told her that I simply didn't want to renew the plan. She informed me that I had to provide her with a "VALID REASON" for cancelling. I had to tell her that I couldn't afford the plan. I make over 60 K a year but she said the plan would run in perpetuity forever unless I gave he a VALID REASON for cancelling. STAY AWAY from this predatory, unethical company. They over inflate their charges and still charge over $100.00 over and above the plan every time you take your pet in to be seen.

I have been paying a monthly fee for the Banfield wellness plan for years, yet for the past several months I've taken my dog in for health issues they've refused care. Instead they send me to an outside vet who does not have any idea of what Beau's medical background is. What is the purpose of paying for a wellness plan if I have to pay to see another vet outside of Banfield! The wellness plan is worthless, so I will be cancelling and never step foot in Banfield again! I cannot and WILL NOT ever recommend anyone to this place for pet care.

Rude...Rude... Rude Doctor!!!!! This afternoon my 19-year old daughter took our 10 month old dog to the vet for her shots. The front receptionist was excellent, but once she got back with the Doctor (Dr. Priebe), the visit made a turn for the worse. She rolled her eyes right in my daughter's face when my daughter told her we got the dogs heart worm meds from our other Vet's office where we take our 14 year old dog. She then preceded talking to the Vet tech (Courtney),as if my daughter wasn't in the room, about our dog's behavior and that she needed behavior training. What they didn't know, or care to ask is that she has anxiety from her previous owners who mistreated her. She has trust issues with people she doesn't know. The only reason we still continue to go here is because we have the wellness plan until April 30th of 2016. Once that contract is up, we definitely will not be back!!! Ever!! We will take her to Woodland Springs Vet. which we have been at for 8 years and absolutely love!! Had my daughter, who initially adopted the dog and lived 40 minutes away, lived closer, she would have never gone here!!! And I wouldn't take any pet of mine here..

Where do I begin? There was a time that all the animals in my house (3 in total) had fleas. We were so worried and we wanted to get them in ASAP. I called Southlake where I had been taking my dog, and they refused to take them all at once. It got to the point where Southlake Banfield was making me so upset I almost gave up all together. Then I called this location. I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE PLEASED. Not only did they take all of my animals, but they gave us a great deal. AND I recently found a pup and didn't want to bring her in my house without making sure she was free of anything. I called this location and they fit me into their already VERY busy schedule. amazing. kind. understanding. trust me, you will NOT be disappointed.

My favorite vet of all time works at this location now. Dr. Kordis is amazing and has saved my animal's life more than once. I wish she had never moved location because the staff here is awful. Since I started frequenting this location to be able to see my preferred vet I have NEVER received good customer service from the other staff members. The Banfield she was at previously knew me and my pets by name and always went above and beyond to meet my needs. Not sure where the disconnect is between that team and this one. Unfortunately, I will continue to follow Dr. Kordis since my loyalties lie with her but the staff at this location needs some serious shaping up. Especially the associate I just spoke with named Lisa. It was the most difficult booking of an appointment for my dog since I've owned her.

I absolutely love this pet hospital. Every vet is so caring. The workers at the front desk are kind. They were with me through a terrible tragedy with a carpet cleaning company. I lost two of my previously perfectly healthy cats who were poisoned because of incompetence by this carpet company. I was at the vet for 6 horrible hours that night, most of it spent on the floor crying. They sat on the floor with me and comforted me. Im not even sure I could have gotten through with my tragedy without them. Dr. Cox and Dr Prebe are the best! Thank you Thank you for being there with me. (Just a note about my experience. Research any company that comes into your home. I used Angie's List and they had good ratings. However, I have since learned how Angie's List works and their tactics are not consumer friendly. This company was not even certified to do carpet cleaning. Since my tragedy, this company has posted a lot of my personal information on the internet. Be careful.)

I took my 2 month old puppy this weekend, 5/4/2014 and I was certain she was going to die. While this place can get expensive fast, I explained that I really didn't have a budget for all the test they wanted to do so the Vet using his experience was able to give me the correct meds and 3 days later my puppy is out in the yard running around like nothing happen. Anyway, the Vet knew what he was doing and I will return as needed.

Do Not Bring Your Pet To Banfield. I brought my sick cat into Banfield Hospital yesterday for examination and treatment. The "Veterinarian" Dr. Kimber prescribed three different medications, and told me that my cat had an infection. My cat passed away the very next day. When I called Banfield and spoke to another "Veterinarian", who checked Dr. Kimber's notes from yesterday, it was discovered that he wrote down in the notes, that my cat had cancer. He told me that my cat had an infection, and needed 3 different medications, and charged me $519.00. He charged me $519.00 yesterday, and within 24 hrs, my poor cat passed away. Banfield does not hire qualified "Veterinarians". They do not care about your pets. They only care about charging huge fees, and they are incompetent.

I've taken my pet to many Banfields and this one was one of my favorites. The doctors and assistants did everything they could to help ease my puppies nerves and anxiety at the visits. Other Banfields would just jump right in and do the routine checkup. The Doctor at this location also seemed to better diagnose issues. Some doctors at other locations would suggest high priced testing for rare infections that cause itching, rather than treat or test for the most common possible issues first. Overall, I rate Ithaca a 10.

I recently got a puppy named Koda who is registered with the Banfield pet hospital. His previous owner was unresponsive and unwilling to contact me which made things difficult to switch my name over on Koda's wellness plan account. I explained this to them and showed them all of Koda's paperwork which there is no way I could of got except through legal sale. They still refused to work with me saying I needed to pay money to start my own account. This just seemed like a way for them to make money and now Koda is left hanging. There are too many other veterinarians in the metro area to deal with this.

These people do nothing but suck you dry. Do anything and everything you can to get as far away from the vets and hospital at this location! If they try and trick you into one of their contacts, scream and run the other way! The services are awful, the level of care for your pet and its well being is awful, and the only thing these half educated "vets" want is your money. It's truly a shame. There is one girl Melissa that works here that is just nasty. There has never been a human in life that i've met who I have had littler faith in their abilities , than her. I can't believe I agreed to a contract with these gold diggers. This place is amazing, both of my animals are seen there. My dog has been there since the very first week we got him, has gotten all of his shots there, his neuter there, and had a few emergency visits because he's a little wild pup and still LOVES to go there and has been happy every single time after leaving no matter what he's had done. He loves the staff and always jumps up to kiss them. My cat is a troublemaker and has to be sedated every single time she's seen because she gets so anxious and mean, they go out of their way to make sure she's as comfortable as possible before and after. She's had all of her shots there, she's had an emergency appointment there when I had NO idea what was going on with her and she was vomiting and they ran every single test they could until they could pinpoint what was wrong with her, turns out she had a UTI, she also has even had her teeth cleaned there under anesthesia and seems to be coming around a bit to the staff there. They go above and beyond for her and I really appreciate it because she's 3 years old and to be honest vicious, most places don't want to deal with her whatsoever. I've never had a single issue here, the staff at the desk is always friendly and welcoming, the techs (especially one of them, Lauren she deserves a medal she is so great with my cat) are AMAZING, and the vets provide the best care possible to my animals and truly care for them as if they're their own. I will continue to take my babies here as long as we're at Fort Campbell!

This place is a joke. I took my cat there 6 months ago with a serious eye condition. They misdiagnosed and it put him on the wrong medications. I later had to take him to an emergency visit with another vet who diagnosed him properly, but by then it was too late, I had to have his eye removed. Then today I rushed down there, I decided to give them another chance and they were the only vet open, because my cat has worms and I figured it was something simple that they could help me with. The lady at the desk just told me to grab a dewormer from the shelf at petsmart and that would take care of it. When I walked over there I saw there was a medicine for roundworm and one for tapeworm. I went back to the desk asked her which one I should get, she asked me what they look like, and then told me to get the roundworm medicine. But guess what he doesn't have roundworms he has tapeworms. So yet again they screwed up. Instead of running a test and making sure, (which they closed in 30 mins) she just threw some meds at me and called it a day. I will NEVER go back to this place.

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG OR CAT TO DR TATE AT BANFIELD/PETSMART IN CLARKSVILLE TN IF YOU DONT WANT YOUR BELOVED TO END UP BEING A CRUEL VICTIM OF SATANISM. At first Dr Tate told me that she did not recommend doing things for my dog to save her life (its too detailed and upsetting to go into what happened)and then decided to be extremely confusing by talking up the chances of my dog pulling through if I let her work on my dog then continued to waiver. I decided to pay the money no matter what it cost to save my dogs life. When I picked up my dog later that day my dog was so much worse off than she was before I let Dr Tate work on her.I stayed awake with my dog as she labored to breathe all night long.My dog was in really terrible shape the following day. When I took her back to Banfield Dr Tate played more games with me and talked me into putting my dog to sleep. I wasnt sure I wanted to do that because "thou shalt not kill." My dog endured a terrible torture treatment that she shouldnt have from Dr Tate - she was in so much pain I didnt know what else to do with her but to put her to sleep to stop her agony. My dog was lying down and her eyes were closed when rigor mortis set in. I stayed with her a while and she was stiff from rigor mortis in this position. Dr.Tate insisted that I leave my dog with her until I could regain composure and decide what to do with her remains since her problem and death were so sudden. Dr Tate told me she would flash freeze my dog and she would even give me a coffin for my dog. My conscience bothered me and I went back later that day to get my dog. At the hands of Dr Tate my dog was the victim of some satanic horror which Ive read is a technique used to make mannequins out of people. There is a reason why wax mannequins look so life like and it seems that they move sometimes. When I got my dog back she was flash frozen sitting upright with her eyes open, blood and drool hanging from her mouth head lowered looking absolutely miserable and the sight of her was horrifying. I wasnt understanding how my dog had changed to this position after being dead with her eyes closed and Dr Tate gave a very noncommittal nonmemorable excuse. I have been troubled by that sight of my dog ever since. That was in 2014. Dr Tate tortured my dog unnecessarily before her death and especially afterwards when as a satanist she raised my dog back to life and tortured her to "get her in the right poise" and one that made my dog look as though she was in unimaginable pain. How could Dr Tate do something so cruel and unreasonable to someone as loyal and intelligent and sweet and fun and loving as my dog and how could I have been so naive all this time? I had bad dreams about what she endured after her death. Not only that, when I picked up my dog later that day I was told they did not have a coffin for my dog and didnt know when they would be getting any in. I feel so hurt that she would do something so horrible to my sweet girl and best friend who looked after me so well. I read shortly after moving to this region last year that this area is the worst area in the United States for satan worshipi this is a prime example of ghoulishness in a land of twisted hillbilly types like this one.

Horrible, I pay for 2 cats every month for a health plan and 1 is dead. Never got a smidgen of compassion about it . When the second one was sick I had to go pick him up because they wouldn't except a post dated check. Thank God, he survived! All they care about is the $ NOT your pet

I just subscribed to Banfield because my daughter who lives in deptford highly recommended it. I live in staten island, ny where there is also a banfield, summer upstate near the Middletown one, and visit my daughter often in Nj,...I also visit near their Delray beach Fl office. This is the reason I took the plan. I am now reading some not very good feedback and am about to rethink this. I am encouraged by the Deptford one though...that they at least try to read the comments and offer to make a problem right...if that can be done. This is much more than I can say about the FL.... comments...which are serious and not addressed by their director. Now what do I do about my champion breed pomeranian...who travels wherever I go.....??? I am an RN...does anyone know If I can be permitted to stay with my pet during her teeth cleaning? Other than that and the immunizations...I really dont need them for much more....I guess I can bring her elsewhere in an emergency.

All this place cares about is how much money they can squeeze out of you. They do not care about the pet or you. What is the purpose of to keep coming in for consultations and exams for an old dog, who is emaciated beyond belief. They say they don't know what's wrong with her. Very disappointed in Banfield. They are "nice", that's it. Everyone can put on an act and be nice.

My dog is lucky to be alive. My pug Chase has been a patient at Banfield since he came to live with us three years ago. He suffers from epilepsy and is on anti-seizure medication to treat that. Recently he came extremely sick, he was vomiting, shaking, unable to hold down food, water or his medication. I called Banfield several times in regards to this and the receptionist never spoke to the veterinarian about his symptoms and never referred me to anyone else, just told me the soonest they could see Chase with three days later, even though he couldn't keep his medication down. That night Chase was barely conscious, shaking, unresponsive, still couldn't eat or drink. I took him to an emergency vet in Turnersville, Regional Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center, who told me it was lucky I brought him when I had. Chase was suffering from severe pancreatitis, was dehydrated and malnourished, running a high fever. The vet there said if I had waited until the doctors at Banfield could see him, there was a good chance he could have died. Chase is still hospitalized but he is coming around with IV fluids and a feeding tube. I spoke with Banfield, who aren't being helpful at all; a woman named Fawn who I never spoke to is claiming she told me to go to an emergency vet. Not only did I never speak to this Fawn, no one ever told me to go to a hospital. I am relieved that my dog is most likely going to make it, but appalled at the standard of care Banfield seems to think is appropriate for their patients.

I took my old english bulldog to this location twice before deciding to never go back. We had originally been patients of the Mokena, IL location where Banfield had been excellent! We moved and needed to make the switch to the Crystal Lake location. On our first visit we waited nearly 30 minutes in the lobby while all the other rooms were empty and the vet techs chatted behind the counter. It took the vet to come out of the back and place us in a room. The visit seemed rushed for it being so empty. On our next visit my pup had an penile infection. They took him from me into the back to clean it out before prescribing him medicine and sending us home. On the ride home I could tell he exhausted. Vet visits usually tire him out so I didn't think much of it. About an hour later he started to cry. He couldn't lay down, and eventually the pain got so bad he fell over and couldn't stand back. I had to rush him to the emergency vet at 2am! The emergency vet said that he was in severe pain from his visit to Banfield. The staff at Banfield did not preform the procedure properly and he should not be in such pain from what should have been a simple procedure. They literally were so rough with him that they cut his penis! I needed to have my dogs tail amputated last year, and he wasn't even in as much pain for that as he was with this. NEVER will my dog or any of my pets be back to this location. I would suggest you spend the extra money to take you beloved pets to a real veterinary clinic.

We have taken our dog to Banfield since he was a puppy. We have always had an excellent experience with the staff and they know my dog by name and greet him happily each time we have gone in. They have given him excellent medical care and were happy to see him right away for last minute appointments. We now have a new puppy and he also will be a patient at Banfield.

Very expensive. I did not like the way they handled my dog. He was man handled. I also did not like they way I was spoken to, as if I was an idiot. Also they tried to hard sell a "wellness plan" that would have ended up costing about $500 or more with the so called "discount". I did the math. Since then, I have found a much more resonable vet that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and they didn't "man handle" my dog.

Please do not get into their trap of pet protection plan!!! I signed up for the pet protection plan and they called me for two appointments in the next three months. After that they called me exactly on the date next year and tell me to renew the program. All they care is about how to get money out of you. All the time I went there, they come up with some thing to get more money. Very rude, unprofessional and they really don't care about our pet at all.

Ridiculously overpriced! $60 for a rabies vaccine, $40 of that was for an office fee! Seriously, an office fee! You're in a giant store Banfield, not a state of the art, luxury, standalone, pet spa. Not only was it almost half an hour past the appointment time before seen, but staff obnoxiously tried to upsale for random vaccines even after specifically stating all that is needed is a rabies vaccine. Spend time researching a local vet & stay away from this place unless you know, you occasionally set fire to bundles of money while your dog sits there and waits uncomfortably.

One of the worst pet Hospitals you can go to bad service don't have emergency walk ins but advertise they do, I had my puppy 5 months old hurt bleeding out by getting shot by a police officer and I was a member and my dog would go there for check ups and when I go for help they didnt want to help me because I wasn't able to pay $850 right then and there. I asked for a payment plan and they refused and told me they couldn't help me how can someone work to help animals but refuse to help my puppy because I didn't have the money I had to put him to sleep because his skin was infected and had no other option, how can you work as a vet to help animals but tell me that you can't help because of money ,

You guys just need to head over to Ysleta Vet Clinic on N. Zaragoza. These clowns are overpriced because they go by corporate rules. For instance they will recommend a lime disease shot just because all banfield's require it whenever lime is not a common thing here in El Paso.

Their website says walk-ins welcome. They aren't. They call themselves an animal hospital but don't offer any walk-in emergency services. This is so not an animal hospital but more like a sorry you have to have an appointment vet. All I got was "We don't have anything available until Monday. Maybe this other place could help." Don't advertise walk-in or hospital because all you are is a vet. The vets I have been to provide better emergency services than this "hospital" and guess what if there's an emergency they take it. Sad this happened on a day our normal vet isn't open. I will definitely never come here again.

Very nice people. I can't rate the care provided because my pet never had the chance to receive it, he died shortly before the Vet arrived to examine him. The staff were very considerate and sympathetic at that moment however, the Veterinarian particularly. I certainly appreciated their sympathy and help after my little buddy passed. I give them 4 stars for the kindness, and an additional star for being the only veterinary clinic in local area that I could find open on a Sunday.

i cannot say enough about my first visit to the Banfield Pet Hospital on Feedwire Road.I took my chihuahua Mia there for some urinary issues March 17, 2016. We were seen by Dr. Abernathy and her assistant Jenni. I was very upset about my little Mia's health as I am on a fixed income and have not been able to take her to the vet on a regular basis as I should be doing. They were so assuring and understanding and explained everything to me in 'layman's terms' so I could understand what was going on with Mia. Dr. Abernathy recommended that I have a urinalysis and some blood work done on Mia to help diagnose what was going on with her health. Jenni explained everything the doctor wanted to do and how much each test would cost. With me being on a fixed income i became very upset because I knew I couldnt afford to have all of the tests done at once. I chose to have the urine tests done and Jenni took Mia to collect the sample. She returned a few minutes later and said she had spoken to the doctor and they had come up with a treatment plan. They suggested that if I signed up for their Wellness Plan and paid a monthly fee (which would be a lot easier on my budget) that they would be able to go ahead and do all of the testing that day and it would be included in the cost of the plan. I was so relieved to hear the news I actually cried (again!). They took great care of Mia that day and great care of me, too! I will definitely recommend the Banfield Pet Hospital to family and friends and look forward to receiving all of Mia's future medical care through them.

Not a bad place if your dog isn't sick. Our dog is a great Dane mix and he has a very sensitive stomach we came to them multiple times and they first told us to with to science diet then to switch to this expensive bag of science diet which we did and the problem still consisted. Just sounded like they were trying to sell us the brand. We ended up going to the animal kingdom pet store and ever since we went there and he started on "now fresh" he hasn't had any problem and has been healthier than ever. They're plans are a good price for the shots and everything though.

This place was horrible, from their ineptness to their complete lack of customer service. After presenting the staff with a prescription for dog food, they presented me with a card and the dog food. When I went back for another bag of food.... purchasing it from what was printed on the card, it was different than what was given to me the first time. The staff told me that both foods were the same. I then found out that not only were the two foods not the same, but neither one of the them were what my vet had prescribed. None of the employees I dealt with over two days cared that they had given me two different bags of food or the fact that neither were the right food and my sick dog had been on the wrong food for a month. I left a message two times for the Manger to call so I could express what I felt were significant errors and that every person I dealt with had a complete lack of accountability, ability to give accurate information or the willingness to help resolve the issue. But the Manager Jennifer didn't even bother to call me back.

We love the Banfield Pet Hospital in Folsom! We are on the wellness plan, and I have found it super helpful and convenient. Their extended hours really help, because not all issues occur 9-5 M-F. Additionally, I love the peace of mind knowing that if something is "just not right" I can take my dog in to have a professional weigh in, without it costing me an arm and a leg. We've never had a problem getting an appointment, and we've never had to wait long when we needed a visit. I would recommend to anyone (and I have recommended to friends and family on multiple occassions)!

Took my 15 year old dog there a couple of years ago. He had some bad skin condition made worse from the heat. The vet checked him out and gave us several options, from bathing him in antibiotic shampoo to having several expensive blood tests. I went with the less expensive shampoo route (and diet changes-no grains!) and this cleared up his skin. Good overall experience.

Our experience with our first puppy was wonderful. Dr. Woodworth is such as awesome vet. We recently saw another vet there for our newest puppy and I felt very annoyed with the fact that he tried to talk us into signing up for the wellness plan. I told him that I did not have the money at that moment and he kept on pushing the issue. If you ever need to take your pet there I would suggest you request Dr. Woodworth.

The staff here didn't provide nearly the same experience as we've come to expect at other locations. The front desk is hectic (when they're open--just went today during normal hours to find that they're closed because there were no appointments, never mind the walk ins), and no one wanted to spend the time to explain the care they received. If for some reason you really want to go to a Banfield, make the trek to Polaris, we've had far better experiences there.

Banfield has been truly amazing over the last 13 years in providing care and support for my beloved friend Donika (boxer mix). I want to personally thank the Banfield staff in supporting me when it was time to lay my dog to rest. I was greatly surprised and filled with emotion when the staff sent me a card with their condolences with individual personal messages, along with a paw print of Dog. Banfield not only displays their 5 Guiding Principles but practice them daily in my experience as it related to quality and responsibility of total care and services offered to me for my pet.

NEVER take your pet here. The only thing this place cares about is YOUR MONEY. After spending 12 of 15 minutes of our visit talking about "the wellness plan", the two technicians left the room to prepare my paperwork for payment, only after I insisted they attend to my pet and we'd work out the payment later. So as they were preparing the paperwork, I collected my cat in the carrier and walked out. I told the technician that we were living and when she asked why I point blank told her that I felt she spent more time trying to sell their product than actually attend to my pet. Her response? "I'm sorry you feel that way. We're just trying to determine the best course of action for your pet." No, lady. "You're just trying to determine the best course of action to get the most money out of my pocket and into yours". I was charged $40.95 for my visit and left.

DO NOT EVER TAKE YOUR PET HERE!! This place is all about their money and that is it! My dog was having some trouble getting up and down, something with her hips. The vet assistant came in and of course starting pushing their "healthcare plan for pets", but other than that she was great with my dog. She checked all the usual things (ears, mouth, breathing, etc.) and my dog was perfectly fine, licking her in the face and all. Then she left and the vet came in, she did not seem like a very nice person from the second she walked in the door, and my dog noticed it too. When she stuck her hand down my dog ran behind my legs and laid on the floor, then she tried to check the same things the other girl just checked but my dog didn't want her anywhere near her so she paged the other girl back in who then asked her what she wanted to do and the vet started complaining about my dog not letting her do anything. She was extremely rude and did not seem to care at all about my dog. All they did after that was shove a Q-tip down her ear, and left both hind legs up one at a time. They said they were going to do a physical exam where they stretched her out and poked at her to see where she was having pain then they left the room. When they came back in they started rambling off all these things they were going to do, they wanted to sedate her to give her the rabies vaccine, do x-rays, test her for lime disease and another 12 diseases (no exaggeration), take blood, and the list continued. I asked why they needed to test for all the diseases and she said because it could be something making her dizzy (when I had clearly told her at least 5 times that you could tell she was in pain with her back legs/hips). My dog just turned 2, she is a very active dog, and is only outside when she goes to the bathroom or is playing but is inside all the time and kept very clean. There is absolutely no reason why they needed to do all of those tests at once, especially when they hadn't even looked at her physically yet!! Obviously I did not allow them to do that and took my dog to our usual vet when we could get in and she did a physical exam and prescribed an anti-inflammatory and some joint supplements. Since then my baby is back to normal, running around and being the crazy dog that she is. A similar situation happened to my mother with her dog's foot. They do not care about your pet they just want to figure out how many tests they can order and make you pay for, FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON!! Being a manager of a store I do not usually give bad reviews because I know how it can affect the employee but this woman deserves it, she is a HORRIBLE vet and should be fired because Washington is a small town and I know I will tell every friend I have that has animals to not ever go to this place. It honestly sickens me that someone who is supposed to care about animals could be so greedy....FIRE HER!!!!!

I have had two bad experiences here. I know I should have learned the first time. First experience was with a redheaded female doctor, I had taken my pup there because she had a wound that would not close and each time (I think twice) I went there just to have it checked for infection etc (which there never was) she continuously told me to put the pup down. But, my pup was eating and drinking fine and was still playing and running about, and even the vet stated she did not think the pup was in any pain from it. The only thing with the pup was I had to spend 15 minutes 3 times a day cleaning the wound which I was fine with. The pup did no start showing any declining symptoms until a year later and passed away on her own. Second experience was for a kitty I had. My kitty randomly lost function of its front legs and could not hold its head up, so I took him there and had multiple tests done which all came back clear. They started to suspect the kitty may have contracted "dumb rabies" so they inform us the cat needed put down, to which I decided to do since he was beginning to lose function to breathe and swallow. So I take him in (crying obviously) and the male vet comes in and says the cat is dehydrated. Obviously because it could not swallow well. He said if he could not get the shot in he would have to drive a metal pole through its heart, which was unnecessary to mention since the shot did work. It did not end there, as I as saying my goodbyes I ask the very nice nurse if I can take the body to bury, the vet then turns around and says almost with an attitude "NO, we have to send it in to test it for rabies and that means we have to cut off it's head and send it to a company so they can cut up its brain to test it." He says this to a crying customer! The nurses jaw about hit the floor when he said this and he proceeded to walk out like nothing happened. The nurse attempted to comfort me since I was near hysteria and let me say my final goodbyes and then gently took my baby away with a soft blanket I said I wanted to stay with him. I believe the vet was absolutely disrespectful and did not care about animals. But I would thank that nurse over and over. A week later the nurse sent me a pet sympathy card, an then after awhile had the decency to call and let me know that my baby had severe brain damage and if I did not put him down he would have starved or suffocated, so that I did the right thing. She also apologized for the evil vet. I will never go back there.

SCAM SCAM SCAM & ANIMAL ABUSE!!!!!!!! I went to take my pet for the first time to this place, since the vet was not available in my region. First off These people have tricks and ways of getting you in order to bleed you dry as much as they can. These are their tactics I hope Some of you find these helpful and insightful, but most importantly BEWARE!!!! Tactic #1: They act extremely nice and pretend to care for your pet, if your pet has an ear infection, a UTI or anything that is not serious they will say that your pet needs more testing to see if that truly is the condition they suffer from. I gave them all the vet paperwork and they ignored it saying they don't feel "Comfortable with treating your pet without doing a bunch of necessary tests. Tactic #2: Your pet will all of a sudden develop a deathly condition, If it's an ear infection, your pet has neurological problems. If your 8 month old puppy has a UTI he suddenly has a liver problem. They work on tactics. Tactic #3: They Worry you pretending to say your pet is extremely ill or going to die Tactic #4: They are required to have Xrays done, if you say no, they will bully you into saying that it is required and try to guilt you into making you feel like a bad pet owner Tactic #5: They force you to sign up for a year plan in order to save you money, meanwhile if you sign up for it and decide to cancel they will give the highest penalty for cancelling it. Tactic #6: They will not treat your pet's condition regardless how mild or severe it is in order to force you to pay all their fees. Which usually results on $400.00 per visit if you sign up for their plan, if you don't you are force to pay around 1K on your visit. Tactic #7: They will add hidden things like medicine, and vaccination your pet doesn't need in order to continue charging more for the visit. Tactic #8: They abuse your pet once they take them in the backroom. If your pet doesn't suffer from worms or anything serious they will make your pet ill on purpose. They knew what was wrong with my pet, and purposely hurt him even more in order to get a next appointment. Your pet ends up looking scared, traumatized & visibly hurt. WHY I FELL FOR IT: I had never had anyone lie to me saying that my previous vet was wrong and misdiagnosing my pet, they said that if I continued following my vet procedures I would be condoning my pet into being wrongly diagnosed, and that he suffered from something much more severe. They scared me, and made me think my vet and I were both wrong, and lead me to believe my pet was going to die. Since my pet is old I could not afford such a high risk on knowing I would lose my best friend. I got scared and told them to do these tests, because I believe my pet was going to *DIE* if they did not run these tests. After I payed them they said that he was fine after all. I simply cannot describe the anger, and roller coaster of emotions I went through, from thinking my previous vet was unintelligent and misdiagnosing, to being scared of losing my pet, and then realizing the CON and SCAM they are, and not being able to do anything about it because they had already charged my credit card. NOW I'M ENRAGED!!!!! for falling into their trap, if you truly care for your pet, NEVER take them here!!!!! A Class Action Lawsuit needs to be opened for them!!! They had a Class Action Lawsuit back in 2013, let's sue these people in 2015! LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE PEOPLE!!!!! Don't let this happen to you!!! YOUR PET DESERVES BETTER!!!!!!!

I have a beautiful 10 month old yorkshire terrier. Since I have had him (7 weeks old) he has been a patient with Banfield Hospital. Recently, I brought Cash in for an emergency visit. The office staff is completely different from the individuals who worked there while Kash received his vaccines and it definitely shows. There is not enough room here to explain my experiences with the new staff including one of the new veterinarians there, Jessica Maines. Aside from barely listening whenever I come in..the receptionist, Alma, is very short and rude. She exudes "I am overworked and I am only here for the check." The vet barely took her time to answer any of the medical questions that I had concerning Kash. If you have not already locked yourself into a plan with Banfield, go elsewhere where your office visits will be pleasant.

They never have the same people on staff which makes it harder for my pet to build trust in anyone there. They dont care for the pets more for getting them in and getting them out trying to make you buy some meds that you bought them the last time you were there. We regretfully have had to fire them as our dogs primary care provider due to; lack of customer service and common sense. We have been going here since we got our puppy. Today, we had a 15 minute appointment for her rabies shot. Due to traffic on the Expressway we were 4 minutes late. By the time we were check in we were 7 minutes late. We were denied service for being late-technically 4 minutes. The lady checking us in lacked empathy and common sense. And, of course, there was no manager on site. Our only option was the schedule another appointment for another day. I am sorry my time is worth something and this is unacceptable to us. If they are going to fret over 4 minutes, will they really respond after hours if we have an emergency? I am not going to risk it! Poor customer service! Will never trust this brand again!

Just setup a wellness plan via their 1-877 number. The guy told me we could call and setup an appointment today, as long as it was scheduled 3 days out from today. I called the local office to make that appointment. The employee answering told me we had to wait 3 days to call in and set up an appointment. That would not be a problem if we weren't trying to plan other obligations around them. I told her that corporate said she should not have a problem setting up the appointment. She then sarcastically asked for my number and said "no clients on record". I then asked if she could just set up the appointment and pull us up in the system when we come in. She replied "I can try to work around this." Now, I've never worked in a Banfield but I'm sure you could have done this from the start...you just prefer not to because it's a small bit of extra work for you. She was rude and acted if she didn't care. If the others in the area turn out to be the same way...bye bye Banfield. Other vet offices are starting to do similar wellness programs.

Emergency brought us to this location. The bulldog ingested sego palm particles and weed & feed from paw licking, along with other unidentified plant matter. The staff prioritized his care immediately called poison animal hot line, determined treatment and proceeded. All within 20 minutes of arrival. When they closed we were referred to a great emergency over night clinic to continue treatment. This morning the dog was taken back to Banfield and monitoring and great care proceeded. Very happy with care and concern given to this senior citizen bulldog.

They sell the "plan" to anyone they can, but don't have the staff to care for the animals. The vets keep quitting. And when I was there last they had me drop off my cat at 9:30 am. I called at 3 to get an update an they told me he had become cranky and they couldn't do any additional test, the vet would call me to discuss a pick up time. I never got a call, I went to pick him up at 6pm waited over 45 minutes then I had to leave so I told them to just bring him out and check my out. I get him home and his paw had been in a tourniquet for so long it was swollen 5 times normal size. And a day later, I still have not gotten to speak with a vet. I will be going to get a refund and canceling the plan on all 3 cats and my dog.

This Banfield seems to have a HUGE turnover in office staff and Vets. Each time I tried to buy heart worm medicine and the flea/tick medicines, they would say my dog's heart worm check was out of date after six months. I brought her back 2 days later for the check and they told me it was good for a year and she didn't need it. I came back a month later for some more heart shield and they said her heart check was out of date! Each time she gets a check up (twice annually) it's by a different Vet. I quit.

The staff at Banfield treated my dog as if she was their own. My dog recently passed away and the staff at Banfield expressed their devastation with the loss of my dog. The staff loved my dog just like I love her. Anytime I had an emergency, they did not hesitate, and told me to bring my dog in immediately. I would recommend Banfield and this particular team to ANYONE who cares for a beloved pet. A few days after my dog passed away, the staff at Banfield sent an Edible Arrangements bouquet to my house! I honestly love these people as family.

Can't say enough good things about this vet. My best friend and I are moving to Hawaii and the process of importing animals is long, involved and confusing, not to mention expensive as we have four cats between us! The staff at Banfield were friendly, helpful and a joy to deal with, and the vet, Dr. Blanco, is helping us to figure out all the intricacies of shots and rabies tests and everything that we'll need for the move. They were kind and respectful to our furry babies. So glad we found a great vet clinic that we can actually afford...for one cat, some places quoted us two thirds of the overall price we paid for all four at Banfield!

Dr. Abreu and her entire staff were so wonderful to me and my very sick little guy, Pokey. I had to make some hard decisions and they were so patient and explained all my options and answered all of my questions. When the time came for me to have to end my Pokey's pain & suffering, there were plenty of hugs, all the time I needed and lots of tissues! I was so anxious and distressed and the Dr. and her team made the whole experience quite peaceful and a calm, comforting place to say my goodbyes. I will miss my little guy, but I'm so grateful I came here and I plan to bring my other dog here for regular check ups and care from now on! Thank you, thank you to Dr. Abreu and her kind and loving staff!

I made an appointment at Banfield for January 17th for my dog because I believed she had a UTI. After multiple hours later, a life threatening MISDIAGNOSIS, and estimate for surgery around $1800-2300 which they couldn't perform anyway because it was a weekend I had had it!. After submitting my experience to the Client Advocate Team three times, writing many reviews online, leaving messages for people to get back to me I'm infuriated. I was supposed to receive a response from the manager by the latest Sunday! It is now THURSDAY!!! This company is a wreck! They keep you running in circles and clearly their stance on customer satisfaction is F*** Y** .

Our puppy got severely sick three days after visiting a Banfield vet. I am convinced that Banfield is responsible for our puppy getting sick as the nurses were allowing all the dogs to lick them. You would think that since this is a vets office you'd want sanitary conditions and not possible cross contamination. We had to go to another vet 3 days after seeing the one at Banfield. So we spent hundreds of dollars due to Banfield not being sanitary. Also, the "Wellness Plans" are scam. Do not let them trick you into the annual contracts with their incredibly marked up prices on procedures and meds. Normal prices are often 50-70% less then they want you to believe they are. I have been trying to work with the manager (Joan?) at this location (Middletown, NJ) to get out of the Wellness Plan, as we will never bring another pet here again. A partial refund would be nice too, since we've spent hundreds due to them. So far they have been less than helpful each time we spoke. They only seem to care about money, and nothing else. Go to another place! Save your pet from potentially getting ill from their unsanitary conditions, and save yourself A LOT of money by not signing up for the scam the "Wellness Plan"

Today I took my cat to Banfield because she had an infected cut on her tail. They brought us in to the exam room right away. The triage nurse took a good long look at my cat and then explained it to the vet, who came out and took another thorough look, then explained a number of medication options to me, along with prices. All of the prices seemed fair and affordable. I was able to pick the best treatment for my cat and then the nurse explained exactly how to give her the medicine, etc. All of the staff that I encountered were friendly and knowledgable. The exam rooms were clean and modern. The prices are fair. What more could you want? This is a perfect vet and I am so happy to have found them.

My experience with my puppy was more than I had expected. I purchased the wellness plan for my dog and very satisfied with the treatment. For the $468 per year, I received neutering, all sets of vaccinations, worming and a couple pop in visits for a hurt paw. I do not know anywhere else that you do all of this for that amount of money. I have friends who are vets there and the place is corporate clean and care is good. Best deal for the money!

Terrible business practice. I paid over $400 for a wellness plan that was recommended to me. I was told I needed to either pay all of my services up front after a recent vet visit. I explained to the girl that I already paid for my insurance up front so surely they could work out a 2-3 payment plan with me on this visit. No luck. When I asked about upgrading her wellness plan to include more services I needed, I was informed that even though I still had a remaining 9 months on the current puppy plan that I would have to pay a $200 upgrade fee ON TOP of paying for the Special Care plan. Disappointed in the business integrity, after spending so much already they expect more on top. I wasn't helped. I wasn't offered any other alternative but to pay it all up front or basically they would let me pick up my dog with out any services rendered. For an establishment that is in the business of helping animals, they really have done nothing for the quality of care for my dog. Will not be recommending Banfield to anyone, anytime.

I called and made an appointment to get my cat microchipped...not once was I told anything about it being necessary to use lidocaine. I was told it was going to be $35.99. I got there with my cat and my first red flag was when they wouldn't let me go in with her while she got microchipped. Then they brought her back out and told me her skin wasn't the right type to get it done without lidocaine! And that I was going to also have to get a checkup done before they could do the lidocaine & microchip. I was looking at $100+ to get this done. Why was I not told this over the phone??? I took her to my cat vet instead and they didn't even use lidocaine lol. This place has the WORST communication ever. I'll never be taking any of my pets here again. Before you take your pet to this Banfield please look at all the reviews as I failed to do. They have 1 good review out of the many many recent bad ones. Why is this location still open? If you want a good cat vet, I recommend "The Cats Meow" on Overton Ridge.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR BELOVED PET TO THIS BANSFIELD LOCATION!!! We took our German Shepherd last week for services that required tests to be performed. We were told we would find out the results on Wednesday of this week, at the very latest. Bansfield failed to call. We have called on Friday and Saturday and talked to the receptionist who told us someone would call by the end of each business day. No one ever called us back and we still do not know what is going on with our pet. We will be locating another vet on Monday to ensure that our dog will be taken care of professionally.

Not recommended!! This is the only veterinary clinic I know of that is actually owned by a huge corporation. They are owned by Mars, Inc.! You can't tell me the CEO of Mars has any idea what makes good medicine. What he does know is that he wants more money. The people who actually work at the Ventura Banfield are great, but they are hamstrung by unreasonable policies and scheduling that is dictated by a corporation that cares nothing about patient care. I would never recommend going to any of the Banfield clinics but definitely not the one in Ventura. They are under-staffed and over-worked! They themselves will often tell you not to come in simply because they already have too many patients to try and take adequate care of. Their staff turnover is astounding because there is no job satisfaction due to the low standard of care. Corners are cut and the patients lose. I wouldn't even recommend them to people with low funds because their prices are pretty comparable to the other vets in town. Trust me, if you saw what went on behind the doors, you would not leave your pet there!! I only give it two starts because the people who work there are wonderful people who do love animals. They just can't help where they work!!

I love Banfield as a whole! I normally go to the one in PetSmart in Duluth but we had an emergency today! Oreo (my Great Dane) hasn't been feeling his best. Oreo had an accident in the car and on himself! They went beyond their job and cleaned Oreo off and also cleaned my car out for me. It may not seem like much to some, but I really appreciate every team member at Banfield! I trust them with my baby!

STAY AWAY from this rip off of place that call themselves a pet hospital. We took our dog here, they put a cast on his leg ($450) (even though they said the x-rays showed not to be broken). After 3 weeks we took off the cast and the cast had rubbed a hole straight thru our dogs leg was so disgusting. Took him back up there ($90), which IT WAS THEIR FAULT FOR PUTTING THE CAST ON WRONG, should have been WAIVED DUE to THEIR MISTAKE and they gave him antibiotics ($50). SO going on the THIRD MONTH and our dog is STILL limping and will not walk on his paw, how ridiculous. One working inside PetSmart said to us, you should've took your dog to a better vet and not here. If you want to waste your money on a place that won't help your pet in the long run then go for it.

Okay, honest to goodness truth. The Vets here are all great. Informative, good bedside mannor with pets, slightly newbie mentality but thats ok.. However, front office? seriously the worst customer service I have EVER received. My husband and I are medical professionals and several of or friends are Vets, so we know how things go and are supposed to go. Each and every single time we ave called or shown up for an appt, or needed a legitimate questioned to be answered- we get absolute crap. To be honest, the only reason why we choose Banfield is because of the puppy plan.(and because a friend of mine is a Vet at another location-- and hates it because if her untrained staff...) It was an "easy" way for us to get the care we needed for our puppy. Its advertised very attractively, sick visits and immunizations all in 1 pretty expensive package. What an awful mistake. In this case, we should have listened to our gut and paid more money for better care. I call to ask a question, and get placed on hold for 25 min. Call because my dog is sick and requires medical attention- get told no appt are avail. (even though we PAY for sick visits in the puppy plan.) In the middle of a crisis was told to call later because the poor girl was busy. Are you kidding me??? My husband and I are animal people are care for our pets as we do our family. So folks seriously, If you care about your pet, please go elsewhere. The minute we can cancel, we will. Sadly we have 3 months left. I have no idea how we are going to get thru these next few weeks. So, summary- WORST customer service ever. Note to Banfield, screen your staff better. This is how you can actually keep customers  We should have listened to the other bad reviews..See Yelp for other reviews.

BIG TIME SCAM!!!!! I told them I only wanted the puppy plan for my rottweiler and when it expired (June 2015) they called me to book another appt. When I told them I did not want to sign him up for the OWP (Optimum Wellness Plan) they never mentioned to me that it automatically renews itself. NOT ONCE during the next 4 or 5 calls that I received trying to get my dog in to see the vet was that explained. I haven't brought in my dog since April 2015 (2 months before my plan expired). I never received a late payment notice in the mail stating that I was still enrolled. So now 6 months later I get a collection notice in the mail saying that I owe them over $400 for nonpayment. When I called to ask them what was going on and explained my situation they told me "I know, I know, this happens alot". They told me to read the terms and conditions of the agreement. I found it but it was only valid with my signature which I didn't give. I have the paper. How is this a respectable business practice. IT'S NOT!!!! They are just like those SCUMBAG businesses that charge you for months after you cancel to the point you have to cancel your credit card. Don't waste your time and money at any of these places!!!!! Go to a REAL veterinarian! At least you know when you are getting charged. It's well worth the money without any of the deceitful practices by these bottom feeders.

I can't begin to rave enough or tell you how each Animal and Owner is Respected and loved. The Doctor's and Staff are Professional, truthful, Gentle and really caring about your pet. They have a marvelous money saving plan based on wellness that is not an insurance plan but saves you thousands! Almost every Client has the Plan and speak of it in the reception room , knowing it's saved them thousand's of dollar's. My beloved "CASH and CARRY", 9 year old Yorkshire Terrier brother's were born with genetic alergies and both had additional leg and in-grown nail and paw problems. My Carry especially had 1 nail that grew into his back paw and Cash had a du-claw that was also very difficult to maintain. Both had eye allergies, ear allergies and Carry espcially suffered painfully from skin legion's. They had the best of care and were loved when they came. Every visit was free, because I had the Plan's in place! If it hadn't been for the wonderful care they always received at Banfield Pet Hospital and their Wellness Plan's both of them had, My "BOY's, my life and their lives would have been over, many years' earlier. Both recently could no longer live with the very painful degenerative diseases they they were born with. We were there every month! It was a very difficult and continuously excruciating to see them suffer.I already had a stroller for 7 year's and other major investment's of love for "my ANGEL"S WITH FUR". It was just time for them to " Cross over the Rainbow Bridge". 2/4/20014.

I had a sick pet - ate garlic. I brought her - nice staff but very unprofessional. In comparison to other Banfield Pet Hospital places they did not ask for my approval in regards to money and sign the paper - they said the exam was free but any blood work will cost money. They said they will call for approval first. So in the afternoon they called my husband to let him know there was $220 so far for her having used hydrogen peroxide to through up and to give her charcoal. I assume they did blood work as well to charge extreme money - mind you she has insurance in Banfield Pet Hospital and the blood work was the one not covered. they needed to call me to - i would have not approved such an expensive blood work. They behaved as if if I gave them blank check for them to write any number. Big mistake on my part to have went there - I would not repeat this mistake again. Completely unprofessional.

We have been bringing our yorkies to Banfield for 4 years and have never had a bad experience! Since we are in the pet plan we don't hesitate to bring them in to be seen for anything that seems off. They are tiny (4 & 6 lbs) so I am very particular about their health and care. We usually see Dr. Hirst and she is WONDERFUL. She also helped walk us through the final days of my 17 year old cat. I just briefly read another review stating that the staff is more interested in pushing pricey meds and treatments than the actual care of your pet.... I couldn't agree more. I have had so many bad experiences at this office, but continue to go here because I am enrolled in a wellness plan for my dog that they pushed on me, convincing me it was the best bet in lieu of the outrageous bill I was facing. Right after the doctor told me I was possibly looking at the death of my animal, he stated to me that even if my dog died, I would still be charged for the monthly fee of my wellness plan. Such excellent bed side manner. If there were no stars, that is what I would give them. From the receptionist, to the doctors, the people here act like they just do not care about anything except your money. In closing, I must mention the last and final visit to this vet with my dog. My schnauzer, who has recently fought for his life being diagnosed with diabetes, and learning how to live happily after this diagnosis, started showing signs of rapidly growing cataracts in his eyes and I did not know this was a symptom of a diabetes diagnosis.... I took him into this location and turned down some pricey tests, but opted for some rather expensive drops instead (thinking it was just an eye infection) After doing internet research, I found out what any normal vet should have told me, and that is that cataracts and loss of vision is a result of diabetes. A nurse client of mine opened my eyes to this, and not the vet in which I have put my trust. They are out for your money here, period. A few of the vet techs are caring, but other than that, all they see is your money. Its vey sad.

I was a devout customer of Banfield in Greensboro. I had their wellness plans for my cats and loved them. Unfortunately, we moved. Shortly there after, one of my cats had hurt her leg. I got up early in the morning to travel almost an HOUR to this Banfield. I figured it was the same company and they would have access to my cat's records. Not only that, I had their wellness plan and they would take care of my cat. Right??? I went in and explained the problem. When the lady asked me what I was there for, she sounded as though I had disturbed her and she was very tired and didn't want to be bothered. She was the OFFICE MANAGER!!! When I explained what was wrong, she said in a very accusatory tone "And now did THAT happen." As if cats don't GET hurt. She went on and took the information... oops... no shot record (like everyone caries them in their wallet or something) Because I did not have her shot record, I was not able to leave her as I would have at the Banfield in GSO. I took her and my business elsewhere. I canceled my Wellness Plan and started recieving calls from the offices in Oregon. I explained the situation and was told that the Vet would call. Guess what... the vet didn't call...the same evil ugly office manager called. Instead of asking how my cat was, she asked if I would bring her back in so she could be looked at. No sorry, no bite me, nothing. I told her that I had found help for her elsewhere. "Oh, well is there anything we can do to earn your business back?" I told her that if she had even questioned me about how my cat was, I might have been back up to investigate. Nope... never again. EVER!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS VET!!! EVIL BAD!!!

Today I took a 4-month old kitten to this Banfield hospital. The poor thing had been run over and was just laying in the road while cars passed over it. The people at the hospital were professional and thoughtful as they handled my emergency as well as all of the regular appointments that were streaming in at the time. The young lady at the front desk kept a cool head, and the vet was friendly, eloquent and clearly loves animals. Since I'm not in a position to assume all the expenses of a cat I found laying in the road (I'm told the treatment would have been in the thousands), the vet quickly worked a miracle that should allow the cat to get the treatment it needed through a local shelter. I pitched in what I could to cover the expenses of time and pain meds (a drop in the bucket), but it was clear the kitten's life was the vet's priority. My thanks to the nice folks here, and to the vet's boss, who approved of the vet's plan. I may start taking my own dog to this place now. Also, my thanks to the regular customers who were patient with the staff. They were juggling a lot of balls at the time.

I moved to Vegas eight months ago. I have used the PetSmart hotel both Rainbow and N. 5th. several times and the Banfield Pet Hospital (Rainbow) due to it being convenient to the hotel. My dog is 11 years old and has been kenneled many times since being a puppy with no problems. I was impressed with the looks of the hotel on Rainbow and I kenneled him during a trip home and also scheduled a grooming. When I got back he seemed very depressed for several days. A week or so later I noticed him dragging his rear end around and I saw that his anal glands were swollen. I wondered if they could have been irritated when they express them during grooming but waited to see if they would get better on their own. Two weeks later I finally took him to Banfield and was given some salve and a $100+ bill. I've been fighting this issue now for several months and have kenneled him several more times since then. A month ago I took him out of the N 5th kennel and he had kennel cough for the next month hacking and coughing every five minutes. Off to Banfield where they hit me with another $120.00+ checked his anal glands again and got more salve. Just picked him up the other day from Rainbow and he spent three days laying in his bed unresponsive to just about anything. (This dog is normally wired up and happy) I've never seen a dog get so depressed like he does after coming home from a kennel. He is finally acting like his old self again and I've made the decision never to take him back to the hotel or the kennel ever again. Bad Karma going on there.

We started visiting this location when we first got our puppy and it wasn't too bad when we started but then things got progressively worse in the the care of our pet and the visits we had. The staff kept pushing for unnecessary medications that costs extra, some of the vets were not very attentive to us in explaining things to us or answering our questions and we just didn't feel like our pet was getting the best care. When looking for a new vet, we learned that some Banfield locations are corporate operated and others are owned and operated by the vets (charter) but under the Banfield name, similar to a franchise. This makes a BIG difference in care. So we gave Banfield a second shot (because we liked the wellness plan perks) and switched to a charter location (Mason, OH). Such a difference!!! We got better service in all aspects and better care for our pet. We love our vet, so I would do your research and seek out a location that is charter owned instead of corporate where their care is determined by how much money they can get from you rather than caring for your pet.

I don't even want to give them one star, but I guess I don't have a choice. I went in with a sick cat that wouldn't eat. I was there for over 3 hours & spent all of 10 min w/an actual vet. While waiting in the room I heard the vet say to the nurses in the back that she had 5 animals right then & didn't know what was going on. While they were drawing blood from my cat who was crying very loudly I heard one of the nurses say shut up you're fine. There professionalism was terrible! I will never take my cat back there.

Banfield has very nice staff members, but everyone, even the doctors, are clueless about how to treat animals. We have three cats who haven't needed any medical attention for years. One day we notice that all three of them have small rice-like worms covering their fur. Immediately we took them into the Banfield hospital and left one of them for observation. The doctors said they had tapeworms and had us pay $100 a cat for the medication. Only a few days later one our cats began sneezing uncontrolably, blowing her nose and pawing at her face. We took her in again and the doctor said she had an upper respitory infection. I explained that my research indicated that was rare in cats and that she probably had something stuck up her nose. He replied that it was 'difficult to diagnose' when something was stuck up a cat's nose and that he didn't have the proper equipment to look. They charged $400 for the visit and the medication. We took her to another vet who used a simple scope to look up her nose and found a blade of grass. He was able to pull it out quickly and easily. A few days later we found a tree in our yard that the worms were dropping out of. Nothing was wrong with the cats, no tapeworms. We asked for a refund but it was refused. Stay as far away from this place as you can!

Was wary coming here because of the previous negative reviews, but figured i would take a chance because the reviews were old. I called at 915a and was able to get an appointment for 930a. I was a little late, but saw the nurse and vet within 15 minutes of my arrival. Both were awesome and worked very well with my dog. Both recommended the things all vets do (food, heart worm prevention, fleas ..etc). There wasn't anything they could do about my dogs broken nail, but let me know all the information about it that i needed to know. Their basic office visit charge with exam is $34, and because the vet couldn't do anything for my dog, that was my only charge. If i decide my dog needs any pain meds, they said i can just call back to request it. Overall i would rate the place 5 stars, everyone i talked to was very nice and you can tell they love animals.

The staff is very friendly, the vets seem knowledgable. My biggest complaint is the cost. The puppy wellness plan is a huge waste of money, DONT DO IT!!! Friends of mine with pets have all told me what their vets cost and I am paying so much more, even with my "money saving plan". I recommend just going to a local vet that will truly care about the health of your pet and charge more reasonable prices. Banfield is just too expensive, period.

Do not take your pet here if you want them to be treated. I spend a regular fee every month that is supposed to cover my visit, yet every time I take my pet in when she is sick I usually pay at least 50 dollars on some test. I have no problem paying for my dog when she is treated, however this office consistently tries to order test after test that sometimes cost up to 500 dollars without the problem being solved. I called them about this problem and asked why they continue to suggest costly and invasive procedures that I will not put my dog through for them to come out negative. The vet I spoke with refused to answer my questions and instead tried to guilt trip me into getting tests that she said "may come out negative, but a negative test is not a bad thing it just means we have to try different tests...." I am furious that my poor dog is still sick and because I refuse to let them order tests without first trying alternative, less invasive procedures. They have also refused to listen to me about her history and are now refusing to treat her.

Did not have a good experience here. The vet seemed to just brush my dog and I off. My dog absolutely loves people and was completely terrified of the Vet.

I've been bringing my dog to this Banfield ever since he was a puppy. I've been to numerous vet appointments for him and every time I had an appointment here I had to wait somewhere between 20-30 minutes until I saw the actual vet. I had an appointment at 3:40pm and showed up at 3:51pm due to traffic and letting my dog potty before going in. When I arrived they told me I had to re- schedule. I was completely unaware that they have a "10 minute" rule, they could've let me know this when they called twice to confirm the appointment or called at their "5 minute" mark.. I took off work to come to this appointment and had to drive about 20 minutes with a very antsy dog who was only coming in to get re-vaccinated. I just had a very hard time understanding why we had to completely re-schedule for showing up 11 minutes late for an appointment that should've only taken about 5-10 minutes. I called to express these concerns the manager and was told she was unavailable and she has yet to respond. I transferred my dog's file to another location. I will NEVER return to this location. I hope that this can help future customers/pets. Take it from me your darling pets deserve better than this.

Love this place! Friendly staff that truly care about my pet! The made sure I was aware of exactly what was going on, what every term meant, and kept me updated on prices. They offer very good packages for fair prices to keep your pet healthy. Purchased this plan and will be coming back for all services for my beloved Bellatrix!

As a person who LOVES her dogs, I wanted to write a review for them. This location can get busy at times, but whenever I have an appointment, I get in within 10 minutes and they spend time answering all my questions and concerns. I always see the Dr. (Dr. Waite is their primary and she is caring, sweet, patient, honest, and informative). They provide all the information about the services my animals received and they treat my pets with love and care. One of my pups had a broken leg and they were very helpful and got me set up with a surgeon right away. They helped me with post op check ups to help me avoid long drives and know my little ones when I come by to shop at the store. Denise at the front desk is very kind and even though they always seem busy, you can tell they are working hard to address everyone in a timely manner. One of my dogs was spayed here and it went very well and she has a very small scar from the surgery. I have the dog care and puppy plan so it covers all shots and checkups.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I intially brought my dog to this clinic to get a check up after we took her in. We wanted to make sure she had all of her shots and that she would be healthy. At the initial consultation they gave her all the shots she needed and recommened we have her spayed. We didn't know if she was spayed or not, (we took her in from people who we weren't close to, they were leaving the country & in the excitement of giving her a home we failed to ask), but the veterinarian said that she could check. After all was said & done they gave us the breakdown in costs, everything was going to be around $300-$500, but that we could break it down by signing up for their version of health insurance for pets. We took the cheapest & paid around $40 bucks a month. We dropped off our dog and mid-surgery they call us to tell us "YOUR DOG DOESN'T HAVE A UTERUS. SHE WAS ALREADY SPAYED." So in other words THEY OPENED UP MY POOR DOG FOR NO REASON. I asked them well you are the veterinarians, how did you not know??? Is she okay? They said well the scar was so faint, but at least she got an internal check up & that she was ok. I told them I hope we don't have to pay for this, but in the end I ended up pay for the whole thing through the insurance we had been suckered into. We didn't even get an apology. We went back, but only because vaccinations & check ups were in the insurance and we might as well use at least part of what we were paying for. The contract has since expired & we get our vaccinations cheaper from a foundation based clinic.

Called for help, only to have someone who was terribly annoyed with answering the phone get snarky with me, then hanging up on me less than 30 seconds later. I can't bring pets here in good faith.

Wait time: We had an appointment for 3 PM. We left the clinic at 7:15 PM. The doctor spent exactly 5 minutes diagnosing our pet. Unacceptable for an appointment, not a walk-in. Doctor: The Vet spent less than 5 minutes diagnosing and did not listen to any of our concerns. Then she left and the nurse returned with incorrect prescription instructions and medication that would have harmed our pet had we give it to him. We got a 2nd opinion the next day to confirm our medical research from a neighborhood vet and they were shocked at the poor choice of medication. Manager: At the time of our visit there was no Manager at this location. The new manager has not lived up to promises of a refund made when we returned the medication that was prescribed incorrectly. District office: The district office reviewed the case and decided that the Vet only has the ability to prescribe the medication that Banfield has IN STOCK and that this was the best medication for our pet. THAT IS POSSIBLY THE MOST ASSANINE STATEMENT I HAVE EVER HEARD FROM SOMEONE IN THE MEDICAL FIELD WHERE YOU TRUST THEM WITH YOU OR YOUR PET'S LIFE. The medication they prescribed would have been a long term medication given once a day and required liver and kidney screenings and cost us $45 in prescription per month. The local vet we went to after, prescribed the proper medication for our pet which cost $8 at walmart and is taken only as needed with no long term effects AS WE REQUESTED INITIALLY. I cannot stress how immature and unprofessional the experience at Banfield was. All I asked for was a simple refund for the unused prescription and they have turned this into a nightmare. Stay away from this company if you want the best for your pet and not just the overpriced meds they have in the back room.

They turned us away when we took our dog in for an emergency. I wouldn't recommend them for non-emergency work if they behave that way when something is wrong. We called the office 10 minutes away in Voice of America and they stayed late and took us in and cared for us without raping us monetarily. I will never go to the one in Bridgewater Falls again.

My dog died months ago and I am still paying and can not cancel the plan. Worst customer service department ever.

Staff is not knowledgeable at all. They have cut my dog's nails too short on multiple occasions, causing her to bleed. Then they blame it on me because she's a rescue and I didn't play with her feet enough. One of the vets barely speaks English and is nearly impossible to communicate with. Please, for the love of your pet, find somewhere else to take them. I will never visit another Banfield for the rest of my life.

I wish I could give it 0 stars. This is primarily due to the care given to my dog and not related to their sketchy wellness plans. Horrible experience.
