I am thankful for the opportunity to have studied the Radiological Sciences. While it is a very challenging area of study, it it also very rewarding. The program is not for the faint of heart in that you have to be dedicated for 2 years of your life. But, compared to other students from other schools, you will be well prepared and very skilled at your chosen profession. The people at Fortis encouraged me and pushed me and had confidence in me. I owe a great debt of gratitude to the people at Fortis.

My experience at Fortis Institute has been absolutely amazing! From day one, I received the utmost hospitality, professionalism, and interest in me as a student from the school staff. It started with the front desk representative to further continue to the admissions representative. I chose to pursue a medical career in the Medical Billing&Coding Program which is offered at Fortis Institute. The admissions process was smooth, simple, and not complicated. I didn't feel like I was just a number or a statistic during my enrollment process. Furthermore, you have an option to exchange program career paths if you are dissatisfied with your particular medical program. The financial advisor was straight forward and extremely helpful in addressing all of my financial concerns. The financial advisor handled all of my financial transactions in a timely manner. I really felt that the financial advisor had my best interest at hand. Furthermore, Fortis Institute is an accredited Institute. This is helpful to now that, because financial aid is available for students. My orientation was very pleasant. The Institute provided myself and other new students with snacks and drinks. A few staff members to include the Institute President inspired, motivate, and encouraged students to pursue medical careers, and to let us know that they care and support their students 100% Furthermore, I really appreciated several mock interviews with several instructors, and resume development. You can expect a serious mock interview. I cannot sugar coat this. Full dress attire 100%. This all happened during my very first course Intro to Medical Terminology. I really like that you can choose your own externship site to start your medical program career employment. Not only that, the Institute can provide you as a student with an externship site by availability. I have heard many true stories about students who have graduated from Fortis Institute and are hired right during their own externship. I have witnessed prior graduate students who have returned to the Institute and have given testimony of successful employment after pursuing their medical career program. Finally, the instructors are extremely, extremely, extremely knowledgable and caring. As a student you will learn over and over the words "Litigous Society in the medical world" "Proper Documentation" "Keep Out of Jail" "Legal and Moral Ethics" "Patients matter" "Professionalism" "Patients life rest in your hands" "Asset to Practice" "Get your Dr. or Physician Revenue" "Team Work" My advice for anyone that wishes to be a student at Fortis Institute, is to ask questions, and get an in-depth understanding of your medical career program, manage your time wisely for course work and work smart in accomplishing course assignments? The Instructors here will give there 120% for you. You must really apply yourself to your program studies. Take it one day at a time! Best of Success!

When I started at Fortis in Feb 2014 for the MBC program I was terrified yet excited to have a chance to continue my education. I am thankful for the instructors and administrators for all the support and encouragement that was given. The instructors were always available anytime and became like mentors and friends. They taught hard and expecetd nothing but greatness from those who wanted it as bad as they were trying to teach it. The administrators were always keeping track of how long I've been here and to remind me of how proud they was of how far I have come. This was honestly a wonderful, unforgettable journey for me. I'm confident with my choice of career change and thankful for the driving force that helped me accomplish it! K. Holmes

I attended Fortis Institute Woodlawn for the Surgical Technology program (2013-2015). My experience at Fortis was very positive! My teachers were all skilled in their respective fields of study and my love for learning was fed beyond measure. I successfully completed my on-site classes and progressed to clinical rotations at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. On my clinicals, I appreciated my time at Fortis all the more! I applied all the skills I attained during my clinical rotation from basic human anatomy to establishing and maintaining aseptic technique. After 3 months on clinicals, I began my Capstone 299 classes in preparation for my National Ceritification test. Now after 6 months of clinicals with 120 cases under my belt, I am confident in my ability as a Surgical Technologist and this is a field that I LOVE!!!!

I took the CST (Computer Support Tech) course here and still can't find a job in that field since 2013!!!! Meanwhile, people who took the same courses at other schools are currently working in the same field....Hmmm??? They obviously had better instructors than I did here at Hoodlawn! Computers are still the future but not at this school. They need better quality instructors and not the cheap one's just out for a paycheck!!!! What a waste of time this was for me!!!!

This school is one of the worst schools in the universe. I wouldn't recommend anybody to go there and to be honest it needs to be shut down. The ppl in charge are full of lies and never uphold their parts of contracts. You'll never get a clinical spot if you are a Surg Tech student. You'll be at home waiting for ever and then they try to put you on SPN to increase your loan amount when it's not your fault you're waiting. Ppl have dropped the ball soooo much at this school that it's a total disaster. STAY AWAY!!!!!

I am writing today to recommend Fortis College in Landover, MD. It goes without saying that Fortis is remarkable at marketing students, with an eye for not only employment now, but also seeking out opportunities where the student can expand into future leadership roles. The Faculty and administration at Fortis takes their role seriously and they are passionate about results. Beyond their passion for high performance per student, they have a knack at pulling the natural ability out of each student. The Fortis Family is consciously proactive at getting full involvement of all other team members to derive the best results possible for students individually and collectively. I strongly recommend Fortis to anybody who wants to be a valued and respected member in the Medical community. Trust and believe Fortis is more than just an institution, it's the gateway to making your dreams a reality.... Truth has come to you~

I have been at Fortis Institute as a Pharmacy Technician student since October 2015. In my time here, I have had several courses. Some of them relatively easy and others more difficult, but all of them have been both challenging and fun. All of the instructors have been very helpful and down to earth, kind of like learning from a friend instead of a robot. The class sizes have all been very reasonable allowing for more one-on-one time. Before coming here, I had tried at least 5 times to go to college and was denied because of financing issues, but here I was approved in about 20 minutes. I would greatly recommend anyone to at least come and talk to someone here to see what they have to offer, you'll be glad you did. Vanessa, Will and Hope are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so thankful and glad I picked fortis when I decided to further my education. They were so helpful from the beginning to the end. I highly recommend Athena from financial aid if you need any help. She was beyond helpful. As for my instructors they were the best, they went out of there way to help us and made sure we successful. I would send anyone I knew to go to fortis! I am so glad I did! I will miss it.

During my 6 months in the CDL Training Program, I've learned everything PLUS MORE, that there is to know about truck driving. Half of the stuff that I learned in the CDL Program, I took the information to drivers who have been on the road for 5 years or more and 90% of those drivers did not know what I was talking about, until months on down the road when their companies explained it to them. I had one of THE BEST truck driver instructors EVER!! Mr Shannon Copeland!! He made sure that we did not leave that class every afternoon confused on certain subjects that we may have needed improvement in. My advice to those who are looking to get there CDL, without all the lies and catches behind being a licensed CMV driver, go to Fortis Institute. It's a 6 month program but trust me, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! I now drive for Averitt Express and everything I learned at Fortis from the bookwork, to the backing maneuvers and on-the-road training, IT ALL PAID OFF!! I was #1 out of 6 new Averitt truck drivers to finish training and Finish School with flying colors. One thing I will say about this program..........IF I COULD DO IT ALL AGAIN, I WOULD!!! Thank you Shannon and Fortis crew for helping me accomplish my goals.

One of my BIGGEST mistakes in life was signing up for this school!!!!!!! This place is nothing but a fraud. Filled with nothing but ghetto students and instructors in particular The red headed woman. First of all how are you going to teach someone to be professional yet you come to class with your hair as bright as little red riding hood. At least if she knew how to teach it would compensate for the hoodrat in her. Instead she comes to class on a daily basis telling you life stories like who cares? Write a book or take it to Oprah! Instead of teaching she will have you bow your head to pray. I'm not against that, but we need an education. Even the Bible says, "There's a time and a place for everything." She's more focused on gossip and fraternizing with students more than following the curriculum. She is never prepared for class, but all the ghetto students love her since she could relate to the hoodrat in them!!!!!! Oh get this though she will give you a ton of work that you will take home to go teach yourself because she knows she's not teaching and if you go complain she has grades for everything so they won't do anything about it. If you think signing up for Fortis in Indianapolis is going to make you a successful Medical Assistant think again. You will be nothing but pocket change them since they feel that Nursing is the only program keeping them open so Medical Assistants become irrelevant. Please I'm begging you do not sign up for this place you will regret it and it will be nothing but money wasted. The only good instructor they have for the Medical Assistants is the white lady nurse, but everybody hates her since she likes to shake the dumb off of them. Since she won't be your instructor for every course STAY AWAY!!!!!! If you like drama, ghetto trash, ratchetness, people coming to school crying about baby daddy this, baby daddy that, crying about eviction notices, etc then Fortis College in Indianapolis welcomes you.

This school is horrible. They have you believe that you will be able to take your boards if you have a misdemeanor or felony. Its all lies. They told me after i onky had two weeks of extern left, that i wont qualify to take my boards. They also promise to pay for your boards and only paid for one of my three boards. I went through more than four teachers while i was there also.

I am very excited to go to Fortis Institute. I found them on google walking distance from my house. They were very nice over the phone so I figured why not let my mother and myself go to find out what was good with the school. I start January 4th 2015 for the Pharmacy tech program and the price is doable also. I don't have too many loans and my favorite part is realizing that my credit score is better than what I thought it was for the private loan. Starr is a great person and Financial aid was easy to get though. I am so excited I cant sleep! I want to get involved in work study and get all A's. Thank God for opportunities to go to college. After Pharmacy Tech, I am going to get a job and go to Nashville Tech to finish my AA degree and persue up to a Pharmacist. I am so thankful!

This school is a joke. Do not waste your time. I went for the EMT program. The teachers need more education to teach. The director of the program screwed me over telling me there would be night classes so I got a day job. I find out a day before class starts I had to go to morning classes. I couldn't go to class because of him telling me wrong. They dropped me. They also charged me for classes I didn't take. When I tried to get my transcript sent to another college they kept saying they didn't get the paperwork. I call no call back. They don't ever pick up the phone. Worse school ever! They will not work with you for any reason what so ever.

The MLT program at this school is very unorganized. The teachers in that particular program do not care about their students. They always stating the fact they will get a pay check no matter what. They always losing your paperwork and class work. The staff at this school is horrible. Fortis is all about receiving money. The admissions reps couldn't give me no information on the program. The dean of students does not care about the students well being.....all he cares about is how many students the school got so he can keep job...this was the worse school experience i ever had....if you want a good school experience please do not go here try a school in the surrounding area....this school is about receiving your money....far as job placement they do not help you find a job

The program I took was sterile processing technician. The program is 9 months each classwas 6 weeks long including externship. Classes were simple and fast , teachers were very nice and willing to share there expirences. Directors give you the motivation to keep going and stay on top of your career. Overall, my favorite part of the program would begoing out to externship at the hospital and getting hands on learning.

I overall enjoyed my time at Fortis, but the downside is the lack of quality lab time and hands on that I got, and I feel like the curriculum needed to be changed. I also feel like the teachers waited a little late to start reviewing for the CST exam with us. The school is also a little unorganized in my opinion. There are some positives though! The teachers are really cool and they make you feel as if you've known them forever, and they're always there to help! They also push for you to pass exams and they crack down on you about studying! They give you tough love too! But the tough love is for the best! Career services is also very helpful with applying for jobs and financial aid is helpful as well with finances !

Best Dental Assisting Program in Virginia. The Staff is very caring and shares years of experience. I am getting my associates degree. The school is CODA accredited and when you graduate, you are a CDA. I have made lifelong friends, not only in the dental assisting program, but in other programs as well. I would agree that both the massage program and surg. tech programs are great! However, the dental assisting program is the best program at the school. The dean of education knows almost every student by name and does his best to make sure that every student. Choosing Fortis was the best decision I made when selecting schools. I had no idea how important it is to be CODA accredited and this school has given me the opportunity to become a DAII. Only good things to say about this school.

If you just plan on getting your LPN, this school is fine.... but if you plan on going any further....BEWARE!!! NO...I REPEAT... NO...NONE...NOT EVEN ONE CLASS TRANSFERS TO ANY OTHER COLLEGE.!!!! I'VE GOT A STUDENT LOAN FOR $30,000+ NOW.....WITH NO DEGREE!!! I wasted 2 years of my life here...thought I was at least getting my Associates Degree and could continue at another college to get my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. They lead me to believe they are an "accredited college"....THEY ARE NOT ACCREDITED!!!! At ALL!!!! I have to take all my classes over at a REAL college now...and start all over. And ADD ON TO MY STUDENT LOANS!!! I'll be in debt forever. Well....at least I have my LPN. Sure did waste 2 years and racked up the loan thanks to Fortis.

I moved from another state to attend school here. Had it not been for the recruiter who basically toured the school and SOLD it to me (Ms. LG), I wouldn't have come given the fact that there are several forums all around the Internet with TERRIBLE reviews. The teachers are cool. One of my favorites quite mid-mod, left the students hanging, and we had to be taught by the program director who gave us little to no work for the remainder of the class. Everyone passed with an A average, of course. I had a work study job while there. Things got fishy when the gal over work study and the new dean pulled me out of class to say some things weren't right with my paperwork and are trying to blame me for it WITHOUT proof, like there is any. I am currently suspended for the next 24 hrs until they decide if they want to kick me out over BS that isn't in my control. Something weird is beginning to happen with this school. We went without a dean for a good amount of time, everyone who worked in financial aid was suddenly "no longer with us" in terms of working there, teachers are quitting, etc. Maybe the reviews I read early on are true, this school may really be crappy. I'm in the DA program. My tuition didn't even lower in price and I have TRANSFER CREDITS from elsewhere. Tuition was still sky high after being told my credits would bring it down. I asked both my recruiter and my financial aid advisor why the price didn't change. Their answers, "Because it just didn't go down." What kind of foolishness is that? They are moving to another location in September. Hope that makes their system better.

I went to this school when it was still Medix College. I had no help with finding a career in my field. The career services center was too busy finding internship positions for the upcoming graduates. The teachers were awesome, don't get me wrong. Everyone was treated like family, but they do get you in, and when you have finished your courses they are done with you. Their credits do not transfer, and they also don't help you with information on the decent size loan that you take out to attend. There are different programs out to help you out with the repayments of your loans, and no one tells you about those. It's something that really shouldn't be a problem, IF you can find a job. Also, there is no point in going to this school...when you graduate the medical assisting program, the highest paying medical assistant position is roughly 13.50 per hour....that is an amount you can make without having the diploma and loans. If you want to be in the medical field, as a medical assistant, the best way to go, is find a front office position, and a doctor who is willing to let the other back office associates teach you what you need to know to work back office. As a medical assistant, what you practice in office is all under the doctor's license, and at the doctor's discretion, so having a diploma makes you no different than someone who doesn't have said diploma. This school was a waste of time. They had a select few wonderful teachers but I would not recommend this school to anyone!!!!

Fortis College is growing everyday and has become a better school. The instructors are amazing as well as the rest of the staff down to the janitor. I was in the EMS programs for a year. My instructor along with the other EMS instructors (day and night) were always willing to help me, answer all my questions, let me sit in on extra classes, and tutoring was available as well. My class and I became family. Everyone there was for my success as well as theirs. It was a great experience. The instructors have real life experience in the fields they teach. They teach you more than just pages in a book. My instructor taught me to be strong and move forward even when no one else is walking with you and they hold you back. She had passion for what she did and I loved that. The registrar and career services were very friendly and always helped me out with anything I needed. They were spunky and had brilliant ideas for the school. Change can be a good thing. I hope this school continues to grow and the students get as much out of it as I did.

I know finding a job as a new graduate in any field is difficult, I have confidence in the skills I have learned in this program.

If you have the determination and are a diligent person, Fortis College can be quite beneficial. This school offers classrooms that are smaller than many universities and community colleges which allows the students to bond and create lasting professional relationships. I attended Fortis College from 2011 to 2013 and graduated with my Associate's Degree of Applied Business (Paralegal Studies) and it has only made my path more clear. Education is something very important to me and this school offers a step in the right direction. The classrooms have real world technology and you are given projects that reflect real world situations. I urge people to come in and look at the school and make a decision based on what YOU think about it and do not let others discourage you! You cannot put a price on your future!

Like nothing about this school. It's a joke. The teachers know nothing. The students in my class had to teach the teachers. This is a great school if your trying to get completely fu**ed over. Don't even waste your time, go ANYWHERE else.

Fortis was the worst decision of my life. The nursing program is not credited or they are on probation. The teachers are not experienced, its too expensive and NICE PLACES DO NOT HIRE FROM TECH SCHOOLS. The financial aid department did not know what they were talking about. One semester there (where my credits did not transfer) was a waste of $6,000.

I love Fortis College! The career service administration is wonderful. Jennifer Knoth was my career service advisor and she made sure that I had a job and felt obligated to help me as much as she could with finding employment. I also admire the advisors they really cared! I will suggest Fortis College to anyone searching for a college.

I was able to begin the program quickly after registration. However most of my instructors weren't good at "teaching". The president of the campus was a bully to students and some faculty and honestly she has no business running a nursing school with absolutely NO nursing background. The program was new at that campus so maybe that's why there wasn't good guidance and control for the students. Some teachers just passed students even though the students shouldn't have passed. Overall I would rate my experience at this school a 5 out of 10.

I think that the professors at this campus are very personable and easy to talk to if you are having a problem with something. I know they are newer campus so there are still some areas, such as scheduling clinical dates/times that needs a little more organization. Also, it's very expensive compared to other local campuses.Overall, I would recommend this campus to other students.

The experience was great. Had a wonderful learning experience. Instructors were very knowledgeable. It was a very difficult program, determination and dedication is very much needed. The program had it's glitches but that's anywhere you go, especially with the program being a new program. Overall, I had a great learning experience and I learned a lot. I would recommend the associate degree nursing program at fortis college.

This is a horrible school they are definitely all about the money the teachers and staff are horrible especially ms.brown if you are thinking of going into ma or dental ,, the school is unorganized and very childish they treat you like an elementary student. It's so caught up drama you don't learn what you are there to learn oh if you attend do not get on their bad side they will definitely play with your grades.... Think twice about going here ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE AFRICAN AMERICAN !!!

I had a good experience...have a job in the field I wanted. I read that it wasn't a school for an African-American, I totally disagree. If you're going to be late every day for class, disruptive and show no respect, then you get what you deserve..

This is the most unorganized, unprofessional, all about the money school you could ever attend. They dont care about the students at all and you are treated as a high school student apposed to an adult paying thousands for your education. If you are thinking about attending here think again. Especially if your African American.

I graduated from the Fortis Nursing program in September 2015. The only positive aspect about this school is that there are a couple of really great teachers. My biggest concern before I enrolled in the program was the accreditation and the ability to transfer afterwards. I was reassured countless times that as long as I passed my classes I would be eligible to transfer to any higher degree program. Well, here I am 6 months later repeating ever single prerequisite class because nothing is transferrable. There is no structure or order. Your schedule will literally be changed 10 times per month, at least. Then it will be your fault for not being on time. I've tried to contact the school several times since graduating for various reasons from financial aid information to official transcripts. Not one person has ever followed up with me.

I am a current student at Fortis Phoenix, enrolled in the Dental Hygiene Program. If you are driven, and dedicated to your education, this school is for you. I can go on and on about the ideal student for this institution, but instead I think it is best to start with who this school will NOT benefit. This school is NOT for slackers, it is NOT for people looking to kill time and slide by, it is NOT for people who do not enjoy being challenged, and lastly, it is definitely NOT for people who don't hold them self accountable for participating in their education. Attending Fortis has the potential to be the best decision one can make, if they are committed to their success. The class sizes are small, great for any kind of learning style, and the instructors here really take the time to connect with their students. They are invested in your education, and I recommend it highly to any person looking for an intense program to bridge your dreams and your successful future.

I am currently in the LPN program. I am about to graduate and enter the RN program. I personally have had a good experience. I believe no matter what school you go to, issues are the same. As students, sure it seems frustrating when an instructor leaves in the middle of the quarter or an instructor is teaching you a class they have never taught, lets me honest, that happens everywhere and those situations are unforeseen. I have gained experience, knowledge and skills that I am using in my new role as a nurse. Nursing school will not prepare you for the true real world as much as give you tools to adapt to the real world. Our instructors have bent over backwards to teach us and help us grow. I believe nursing school is what you make of it and you will get out of it what you put into it! Fortis is a decent school with many excellent instructors that are willing to help anyone that is willing to reach out and ask for the help as well as helping themselves!

At the College, I have taught Career Development, General Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Introduction to Sociology, and Communication for Health Professionals courses. Also, I am the College's Student Success Center Coordinator. I earned my Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Leadership at Ohio State University in 2010. The College's employees consistently go above and beyond at trying to help its students do as well as possible academically. I like the College's current and former students, as well as its faculty and staff. I find that Fortis Westerville's students, faculty, staff, and former students are quite talented.

HVAC program in theory is good. they have alot of equipment and good curriculum. The problem is only one instructor really cares about teaching and passing on knowledge. the other two just seem to be there for something to do in retirement. Class is from 8 am to 1 pm but that is not reality. most classes not start until around 9 and they will say you need to stay until 1 even when all work is completed or they will mark you grade down. The administration only seems to care about looking like a good school. we bring concerns about poor teaching but nothing changes. the only time we see changes is when an inspection is going on. once the inspection is over everything goes back to normal. I would not recommended this school to anyone. if you can try Midwest institute first.

Beginning at Fortis everything was well and put together in the Medial Office administration program. My only issue is that during the terms it was not a long enough period to retain information. Now only that after awhile things began to fall apart. The program director left without warning, teachers were quitting and getting fired left and right. This then caused the MOAs with no one for real guidance or assistance.Senior

Its college, so come get the knowledge and take the test. The school is not organized. There were so many days that nothing was taught or accomplished. The instructors are involved in out of class stuff so they don't have time to attend a class. They don't provide one-on-one help. I had five hour long class but we only utilized may be one hour out of that. Other thing that I didn't like was that everything was spoon fed. They give you everything that you need for the tests or homework because they wasted their time on other things that are not related to school. So in order their students to pass or not lose their reputation that just give all the material needed. I think the tuitions are way high than other colleges for same programs.Graduate Student

Fortis college in my perspective is a wonderful college. Fortis professors invest more time and effort into making sure that the student is on the right track and succeeding. Weather you are in need of tutoring or if you are lost and confused about a subject they provide as much help as they possibly can. The professors take the personal time out of their lives to help the student succeed. Not only does fortis offer some careers that no other school offers but they offer excellent hands on training. For example, They have dummies that represent live people that you can practice your medical training on. They even mimicked the environment for what career you have chosen. Weather it A dental office, A emergency room, A operation room and etc fortis has it! They understand that you're a student, so whenever they are showing you something new, they explain the information to your understanding. There isn't a variety of classes offered, only because you take the classes needed for your degree. You get plenty of hands of classes.
